400: Chapter 400 Three Months Countdown

In the days after Qing Ming Protector left, Lu Sheng kept his schedule packed to the brim.

His daily schedule was very simple—

In the morning, he performed practical Law combat drills in space.

At noon, he returned to guide the training of Spirit Emperor Realm Cultivators.

In the afternoon, he worked with Luo Tianfei to research optimization plans for the defense system.

In the evening, he returned to the secret chamber to meditate and consolidate his Mid Spirit Saint cultivation.

In between, he handled various miscellaneous matters. If the production line at the Blacksmith Camp had an issue, he had to make the call; if conflicts arose between Cultivators, he had to suppress the scene; if a new mutated sea beast nest was discovered on the ocean floor, he had to arrange for people to clear it out.

As the supreme ruler of the entire Earth, his workload was headache-inducing.

But Lu Sheng processed these matters with extreme speed.

He wasn't the type of person who needed to oversee every tiny detail. He set the general direction and threw the specific execution entirely to Dao Yi and Luo Tianfei. If someone didn't do a good job, he replaced them immediately without any hesitation.

This management style was simple and crude, but highly efficient in an Apocalypse environment.

Fifteen days after Qingming left.

Zhou Lei made a Breakthrough to the Spirit Venerable Realm Early Stage.

Earth now had its third Spirit Venerable Realm Cultivator.

Lu Sheng was in space practicing the fine control of Space Law when he heard the news. He didn't even turn his head, only saying "not bad" through the communicator before continuing his practice.

It wasn't that he didn't care about his subordinates' growth. But a Spirit Venerable Realm Early Stage was simply too weak in the grand context of the Universe. To him, all the Cultivators on Earth below the Spirit Venerable Realm added together were not as useful as he was alone.

What he truly cared about was the improvement of his own strength.

Twenty days after Qingming left.

Lu Sheng conducted a major Law test in space.

He expanded his Small World Domain to its limit—three hundred and twenty meters. Then, he simultaneously activated five types of Laws within the Domain, creating a miniature "Law Storm."

The five powers of Wind, Thunder, Fire, Water, and Space collided and fused frantically within the three-hundred-and-twenty-meter Domain. Wind blades were wrapped in lightning, flames condensed with frost, and spatial rifts continuously tore open and healed in all directions.

The entire process lasted for twelve seconds.

After twelve seconds, Lu Sheng retracted his Domain.

His spirit source consumption was about forty percent.

"A twelve-second full-power Law Storm consumes forty percent of my spirit source," Lu Sheng calculated in his mind. "If it were actual combat against a Mid Spirit Saint opponent, I could maintain this level of outburst six to seven times at most."

Six to seven times.

It wasn't a lot, but it wasn't a small amount either.

Crucially, he also had the Physical Body bonus of the Dragon God Sequence. Once he entered the Human-Dragon State, all his attributes would double, and both the duration and power of the Law Storm would skyrocket.

"If I add the Dragon Soul Possession effect of the dragon devouring spear—"

Lu Sheng clenched his fist.

He felt that if he fought Qing Ming Protector again now, his chances of winning would be at least sixty percent.

But sixty percent wasn't enough.

He wanted a hundred percent.

A crushing hundred percent.

"I must keep practicing."

Thirty-five days after Qingming left.

Luo Tianfei reported a piece of news.

"The stealth probes on the outskirts of the Old God Abyss have detected an anomaly."

Lu Sheng was meditating in the secret chamber and snapped his eyes open upon hearing this.

"What anomaly?"

"An unidentified flying object has entered the Warship Graveyard area on the outskirts of the Old God Abyss. Quantity: one vessel; size: medium. It is moving slowly in that area, suspected to be conducting a search."

Lu Sheng's expression darkened.

"Can you determine who it belongs to?"

"The flying object's energy signature is very faint, and its stealth technology is extremely high. However, based on an analysis of its flight trajectory and scanning patterns, there is over a seventy percent match with the technical characteristics of a Myriad Manifestations Divine Court reconnaissance ship."

The Myriad Manifestations Divine Court?

Lu Sheng's eyes narrowed.

When Qing Ming Protector left, he had made it very clear—three months for an answer. During this period, entry into the Scavenger Alliance's original star sector was not permitted.

It had only been just over a month, and the Myriad Manifestations Divine Court had already sneakily sent a ship to the Old God Abyss?

They were looking for the ruins behind his back.

"Fine then," Lu Sheng stood up from the stone bed.

He took a deep breath, suppressing the surge of anger in his heart.

Calm down.

Now is not the time to lose my temper.

"Where is that flying object now?"

"Lingering in the Warship Graveyard area on the outskirts of the Old God Abyss. It hasn't gone deep. I estimate they haven't found the passage to the core area yet."

The core area of the Old God Abyss was protected by that spherical space and Law threads. Ordinary aircraft simply couldn't enter.

But the problem was—if the people from the Myriad Manifestations Divine Court searched the outskirts long enough, they would eventually discover the membrane of that spherical space. At that point, even if they couldn't get in, they would know something was hidden inside.

"I can't let them keep searching," Lu Sheng made a decision.

He had to go there personally.

But he couldn't leave.

At least not right now.

Qing Ming Protector's response hadn't arrived yet. The Myriad Manifestations Divine Court could send people to Earth at any time. If he left Earth for the Old God Abyss now, and the enemy took advantage of his absence—

"Luo Tianfei."

"Present."

"Has that flying object ever approached the core spherical space of the Old God Abyss?"

"No. It has been active in the peripheral area. The closest it has come to the core spherical space was thirty thousand li away."

Thirty thousand li.

There was still distance.

Lu Sheng thought for a moment.

"Continue monitoring. If it comes within ten thousand li of the core area, notify me immediately. Until then, don't alert the enemy."

"Understood."

Lu Sheng sat back down on the stone bed, but he could no longer continue his meditation.

His mind was racing.

What did this move by the Myriad Manifestations Divine Court signify?

It meant they didn't intend to wait honestly for three months.

It meant that after Qing Ming Protector returned, the Myriad Manifestations Heavenly Venerate could no longer wait.

He wanted the seed of origin, and he wanted it so badly he was going crazy.

"The more anxious, the better," Lu Sheng whispered.

The more anxious one is, the easier it is to make mistakes.

And what he needed was the moment the other party made a mistake.
