96: Initial clash

Baiwei Food Company, though called a company, wasn't located in an office building but rather in a large factory complex.

Pan Renxing drove familiarly to the gate, rolled down the window, and shouted, "Brother Security! It's me again, open the gate!"

The security guard leaned against the window without saying a word, took out a piece of paper, and stuck it on the glass.

On it was Pan Renxing's photo, with a few large characters written in red pen below.

"This person is not allowed entry!"

Jiang Chuan, watching this scene from the car, felt embarrassed for Old Fourth and really wanted to see his expression at that moment.

"How much did he annoy that President Qin to get to this point?"

Feng Qiqi was also seeing this for the first time—a company posting a 'no entry' notice for someone—and said while holding back laughter.

Pan Renxing hadn't expected this situation. Last time he came, he had clearly taken care of things, so why were they turning their backs on him now?

He pushed open the car door, walked to the security booth window, secretly took out two boxes of Huazi from his bag, handed them over, and said with a smile, "Brother, didn't we agree last time? Has something new changed?"

The security guard skillfully wrapped the Huazi in a handkerchief, coughed lightly, and said, "Little brother, it's really not that I don't want to help you. You see, President Qin personally delivered the photo. Don't make things difficult for me."

Seeing that the two had been talking for so long without any result, Jiang Chuan rolled down the window and shouted, "Old Fourth, can you handle this or not?"

"Right away! What's the rush!"

Pan Renxing saw that the other party really couldn't resolve it, snatched back the handkerchief along with the Huazi, ignored the stunned security guard, turned back to the car, took out his phone, and called President Qin.

"Hey, President Qin, it's Xiao Pan. My dad asked me to deliver some things to you, but the security guard won't let me in. Okay, okay!"

His father's face was indeed much more influential than his. Soon after, the barrier gate opened.

He extended his hand, gave the grim-faced security guard the middle finger, and drove in very slowly.

Seeing that Old Fourth had resolved the issue, Jiang Chuan exited the prepared dialing screen, looked at Little Green Tea, and said, "Will you wait in the car or come with us?"

"I'll go with you. Don't worry about me, I can take care of myself."

"Then let's go."

Pan Renxing led the way in front, entering a two-story building, heading straight upstairs, and stopping at the general manager's office, saying:

"Third Brother, it's your time to shine."

Jiang Chuan nodded, took the prepared documents from Little Green Tea's bag, and gently knocked on the door.

"Come in."

Hearing this, he pushed open the door and saw the legendary President Qin—not tall, very thin, with shoulder-length hair, looking less like a company founder and more like an artist.

"President Qin, hello, I am the Chairman of Starlight, Jiang Chuan!"

Qin Siyuan wasn't surprised, still keeping his head down to handle the documents in his hands, and said softly:

"Chairman Jiang, young and promising. But my time is limited today, I can only give you half an hour. If you have something to say, speak directly."

Hearing there was half an hour, Pan Renxing immediately slumped onto the sofa, waiting for Third Brother's performance.

Feng Qiqi, on the other hand, was a dutiful secretary, following behind her boss, listening more and speaking less.

Jiang Chuan placed the documents on the file the other party was about to sign, smiled, and said, "This might be the most important document. Would President Qin like to take a look?"

Qin Siyuan looked up for the first time, carefully observing the young man before him. He had some understanding of Starlight and had studied their plan, not finding it particularly outstanding.

But he was a very rational person. He didn't get angry; instead, he was somewhat curious about where the other's confidence came from. He picked up the document and looked at it.

Jiang Chuan pulled over a chair for his secretary to sit, placed his hands on the table, and began introducing:

"Starlight currently has a stable active user base of six hundred thousand, and the growth curve is still rising. This shows our user retention is high."

"The average age is under thirty-five. President Qin also has a store on Taojin, so you should understand what this represents."

Qin Siyuan naturally understood. Online shopping had become mainstream, and the main consumers of the era were always young people. That's why he had set up a store and promoted it, but the results weren't good.

"What Chairman Jiang says, I naturally understand. It's precisely because of these reasons that I agreed to cooperate, but the lowest price is absolutely not possible!"

Jiang Chuan didn't answer. Instead, he looked around the room and then walked straight out of the office.

Pan Renxing: ???

"What, you're giving up just like that? Weren't you supposed to show us your performance?"

Not long after, he saw the other pull a chair back, place it next to President Qin, and sit down.

Qin Siyuan was seeing this kind of person for the first time. Xiao Pan was already eccentric enough, but his boss was even more so. With only half an hour, he still had time to go find a chair!

Jiang Chuan didn't like others sitting while he stood, as if he were reporting. Now he was much more comfortable. He crossed his legs, shook his head, and said:

"President Qin still doesn't understand. Why can't Baiwei expand beyond Hangzhou City? Lack of traffic! Ineffective promotion!"

"But Starlight has plenty of traffic, if nothing else. This is a new era; you can't just focus on immediate profits. Once you become famous, won't you worry about sales?"

Qin Siyuan wasn't swayed by the other's vague promises. He spoke with clear logic:

"That's the best-case scenario. What if we don't become famous? If I give you the lowest price, and other partners come asking for the same, what do I do? Although I want change, I seek stability within change."

Jiang Chuan still wore a confident smile, snatched the pen from the other's hand, and wrote four large characters on the document!

"Betting Agreement!"

He tapped the pen on these four characters, smiled, and said, "Is this enough? I dare, but they don't. Even if they dare, Baiwei won't lose out. How about it?"

Qin Siyuan looked at the four large characters on the document, fell into thought, and remained silent for a long time. Suddenly, a smile appeared on his serious face. He looked directly at the other and said, "Chairman Jiang, care to elaborate?"

Jiang Chuan didn't respond. He raised his wrist to check the time, stood up, and said, "Half an hour is up. We'll talk another time when there's time."

He led the two toward the door, raised his hand, and waved:

"Baiwei can only choose us, but Starlight has many options—it's just a matter of distance. President Qin, see you later!"

Qin Siyuan didn't try to stop him but still picked up the document carefully to read it. He wouldn't refuse anything beneficial to the company.

"Third Brother, why not strike while the iron is hot? Weren't you in a hurry?"

Pan Renxing had even given up the bentley, sent Uncle Li away, and was acting as their driver. He fastened his seatbelt and asked curiously.

"Cooperation is like dating; you have to learn to pull back and forth, draw out the other's interest. Playing hard to get gives you the upper hand later."

Jiang Chuan took off his glasses and rubbed the bridge of his nose. This half hour was more exhausting than dealing with Old Sun.

Seeing this, Feng Qiqi placed his head on her lap, gently massaging his temples with her small hands, and asked curiously:

"What if he doesn't take the bait?"
