39: Chapter 39 Harvest: Design Blueprints for the Soul Ferry

The Mirror Ghost's true form's sharp mental shock, like hitting an invisible but indestructible wall, dissipated around Lin Chen without harming him in the slightest.

Lin Chen's command to "tear it down" sounded like a final sentence.

The Nether Fires in the eye sockets of the ten Yin Soldier Centurions and the specially summoned Yin Soldier Chiliarch flared up instantly! They let out no roar, but the condensed, icy killing intent caused the temperature in the entire corridor to plummet!

The Mirror Ghost's true form seemed to sense a fatal threat. Its body, composed of countless fragments, twisted violently. The resentful faces in every shard emitted even more piercing shrieks, attempting to launch another mental attack or use its mirror reflection ability to evade and counterattack!

However, in the face of absolute power and numbers, its struggles appeared utterly futile!

The Yin Soldier Chiliarch struck first! With an aura of crushing everything in its path, it took a heavy step forward. The Bronze Halberd in its hand, now more solid and wreathed in black lightning, let out a soul-tearing whistle as it swung in a wide arc!

"Boom!!!"

The halberd didn't directly touch the Mirror Ghost's body, but the surging nether energy struck like a physical tsunami!

The Mirror Ghost tried to use mirror reflection to redirect the damage, but the space around it had already been sealed and solidified by the Nether Field jointly laid by the ten Yin Soldier Centurions! Its rule-based abilities, which it relied on for survival, were forcibly suppressed by a higher-level "Rule of Power"!

Crack! Crack! Crack!

Like a chain reaction, the countless mirror fragments on the periphery of the Mirror Ghost's body couldn't withstand the violent impact of the energy and instantly shattered and crumbled, turning into fine crystalline powder!

It let out a shrill, agonizing wail that blended countless screams!

But this was only the beginning!

The ten Yin Soldier Centurions closed in like specters. Their Nether Pikes stabbed and slashed from every angle like a violent storm! Every attack landed precisely on different parts of the Mirror Ghost's body!

Nether power had a natural restraining effect on such aggregates of resentment! Wherever the pikes passed, the mirror fragments didn't just physically break; they were purified, instantly losing all luster and vitality, turning into ashen dust and scattering!

The Mirror Ghost frantically waved its arms made of shards, trying to fight back. But every time its attacks hit the condensed armor of the Yin Soldiers, they only kicked up a few sparks of Nether Fire, failing to cause any effective damage!

This was a one-sided slaughter!

Lin Chen stood where he was, not even lifting a finger, just watching calmly. Lin Tian and the other team member were already stunned. Lin Tian, in particular, tightly covered his ears to block out the grating sound of shattering and the monster's wails. His face was pale as paper, but deep in his eyes, an indiscernible glint flickered, as if he were desperately trying to memorize and analyze the Yin Soldiers' combat power and Lin Chen's composure.

In just a minute or two.

The massive true form of the Mirror Ghost, composed of countless mirror fragments, was completely dismantled and purified under the violent and efficient siege of the eleven Yin Soldiers!

The final core fragment carrying the resentment was struck by the Yin Soldier Chiliarch's halberd. With a soft "pop," it burst like a bubble and vanished into nothingness.

The entire corridor finally returned to a dead silence.

Only the glass shards covering the floor and the drifting ashen dust remained as evidence of the brief but intense battle that had just occurred.

With the total destruction of the Mirror Ghost's true form, a surge of pure nether energy and soul essence—far denser than that of ordinary Bizarre Monsters—was automatically absorbed by Lin Chen's system.

[Ding! Rule-type Bizarre Monsters "Mirror Ghost (True Form)" eliminated. Gained nether talisman +50,000, Pure Soul Crystal +10!]

[Ding! Special item drop detected...]

Amidst the system's notifications, a faint but solid glimmer of ghostly light slowly emerged from where the Mirror Ghost had finally dissipated. It eventually condensed into a blueprint that was neither paper nor silk, cold to the touch, and outlined with incredibly complex structures and runes in dark silver lines... A blueprint?

The blueprint floated over and landed in Lin Chen's hand.

[Obtained Key Item: soul ferry boat Design Blueprint (Complete)]

[Information: A design blueprint for a basic transportation tool used by the Ancient Netherworld to ferry souls and cross the Nether River. Once all required materials are collected, it can be constructed by consuming nether talismans at the system interface.]

[Note: With this, you have truly obtained the "ticket" to the depths of the Netherworld.]

soul ferry boat Design Blueprint!

It's finally in my hands!

Lin Chen looked at the blueprint in his hand, which emanated a profound aura, and a look of satisfaction flashed in his eyes. This trip to the Bloody Hospital wasn't in vain.

He casually put away the blueprint and turned his gaze toward the still-shaken Lin Tian and the other team member.

"Can you still walk?" he asked Lin Tian in a flat tone.

Lin Tian seemed to snap out of his shock only then. He hurriedly struggled to pick up his crutch, forcing a somewhat strained smile of survival: "I... I can walk! Thank you for saving me, Big Brother!"

The look of admiration and dependence in his eyes grew stronger, as if he truly treated Lin Chen as his only support.

Lin Chen remained noncommittal, merely waving a hand at the Yin Soldiers: "Keep moving. Let's see what other 'specialties' are here."

The Yin Soldiers silently executed the order and began exploring deeper into the hospital.

Lin Tian leaned on his crutch, limping to keep up. A flash of thought quickly crossed his lowered eyes. The soul ferry boat Design Blueprint... It seemed the target of the Cult Leader's mission had appeared.

What he didn't notice was that the moment he lowered his head to hide his expression, Lin Chen's peripheral vision seemed to inadvertently sweep over the spot where he had been slumped. On the ground, a small, inconspicuous shard—apparently broken off from the Mirror Ghost's true form and edged with a hint of dark gold—flickered slightly before its light faded.
