166: Chapter 166 Company Renovation Completed

The cruise ship drifted slowly on the river, the gentle evening breeze gradually smoothing out the residual shock in Su Xiaoxi's heart.

The two of them leaned quietly against the railing, watching the shimmering lights across the river and chatting softly. Unknowingly, the night grew deep.

Jiang Chen checked the time and had Lu Zheng drive over. After the boat docked, the two of them got into the car.

Where Su Xiaoxi lived was not far from the river. The car passed through several quiet streets and stopped downstairs at her home. Jiang Chen naturally followed her out of the car, told Lu Zheng, "Come pick me up again tomorrow morning," and then went upstairs with Su Xiaoxi.

The tenderness of the night needs no further elaboration.

The next morning, as the sky began to brighten, soft morning light spilled quietly into the room through the gaps in the curtains.

When Jiang Chen woke up, Su Xiaoxi was still fast asleep. He didn't wake her, washing up and packing his things quietly. Just as he finished buttoning his shirt, his phone vibrated in his palm.

The caller was none other than Shen Xi.

He walked to the living room window to answer the phone, and Shen Xi's cool voice, carrying a hint of joy, immediately came through the receiver: "President Jiang, good morning."

"I'm calling to report to you that the entire renovation, soft furnishings, and all office equipment for Chenxing Capital have been completely finished. The internal layout, flow, and employee workstations are all in order. We can move in and start working at any time. If you have time today, would you like to come over and see the results in person?"

Jiang Chen leaned against the windowsill, his tone casual: "Sure, I'll head over in a bit."

"Alright."

Shen Xi's voice softened slightly, her tone carrying a bit of solemnity.

"In addition, I had the team prepare a simple opening ceremony. It's not grand, but all the necessary sense of ritual is there. After all, this is your first company and everyone's first formal appearance; it needs a proper beginning. The champagne and flowers are ready, just waiting for you to personally unveil the plaque and cut the ribbon."

Jiang Chen smiled: "Okay, you arrange it."

"Then I'll wait for you at the company."

After hanging up, Jiang Chen sent a leave request message to his counselor. The wording was formal and brief, and he quickly received a reply of approval.

He called Lu Zheng to come pick him up and took a look back into the bedroom.

Su Xiaoxi rolled over and mumbled dizzily, "Are you leaving?" He said softly, "Going to the company, go back to sleep," tucked the quilt around her, and then quietly closed the bedroom door.

Lu Zheng's car was already parked downstairs.

Jiang Chen sat in the back row, and the car drove smoothly out of the residential area, heading straight for the city center landmark—

The Changjiang International Center.

The office location previously decided for Chenxing Capital was the eastern half of the thirty-seventh floor of the Changjiang International Center, a full five hundred square meters of independent office space.

This place was located in the core CBD business district of Jiang City, surrounded by skyscrapers with a thick business atmosphere. Those coming and going were all executives of major groups and industry elites.

The land here was worth its weight in gold. Being able to take this half-floor as the company headquarters was in itself a self-evident display of strength.

The car entered the office building's exclusive underground garage. Lu Zheng accompanied Jiang Chen into the exclusive direct elevator, and the cabin rose quietly without stopping until it reached the thirty-seventh floor.

"Ding—"

The elevator doors slowly slid open to both sides, and a meticulously arranged dark gold welcoming archway was the first thing to catch the eye. On both sides of the archway were well-arranged flower baskets; the flowers were fresh and the colors elegant, showing that a lot of thought had gone into it.

On the front wall hung a company nameplate covered by a dark velvet cloth. In front of the nameplate stood a six-tier crystal champagne tower, with tulip-shaped champagne glasses stacked layer upon layer, reflecting fragmented light under the lamps.

A dark gray carpet stretched all the way from the elevator entrance, feeling soft underfoot. Warm-toned floor lights and floor-standing floral arrangements were lined up alternately on both sides. The entire corridor was quiet, yet it naturally possessed an atmosphere of "today is an important day."

Shen Xi had been waiting at the elevator entrance for some time.

She wore a sharply tailored haze-blue professional suit, her long hair softly tied up, and her makeup light and exquisite. Her whole person looked capable yet gentle.

Seeing Jiang Chen, a smile spread across her lips, and she bowed slightly: "President Jiang, you've arrived."

"Morning," Jiang Chen greeted casually, his gaze sweeping over the office area past her as he walked and looked.

The entire five-hundred-square-meter eastern half-floor was self-contained, open, and transparent.

The overall renovation followed a light luxury, minimalist business style, with a high-grade gray base paired with wood tones. The floor was paved with matte-textured marble, and the lines of the walls were clean and sharp.

Full-view floor-to-ceiling glass windows provided excellent lighting. Standing in any corner and looking up, one could see the Jiang City skyline and the distant shimmering water of the Yangtze River.

In the open public office area, workstations were arranged neatly. Independent offices, business negotiation rooms, multimedia conference rooms, and a pantry leisure area were all fully equipped.

Soft light strips embedded in the ceiling glowed with a warm light, and green plants were perfectly placed in the corners. The entire space had a business temperament without feeling cold or rigid.

Jiang Chen walked all the way in, his gaze finally stopping at the CEO's office at the very back.

That was the best corner position of the entire eastern half-floor. Two full-view floor-to-ceiling windows opened up at a right angle, providing an incredibly wide field of vision.

Looking left was the bustling cityscape of Jiang City; looking right was the vast, misty expanse of the Yangtze River. Standing in front of the window, it felt like half the city was beneath one's feet.

In the office, the leather sofa reception area could comfortably seat seven or eight people for a chat. On a wooden tea table sat a full tea set and a small water boiler. An embedded bookshelf took up half a wall, and several rows of red wine were neatly arranged in a constant-temperature wine cabinet.

The custom executive desk in the center was large and solid, its surface as smooth as a mirror. A curved monitor, a wireless keyboard and mouse set, plus a pure copper company nameplate ornament were placed on it, with the four characters "Chenxing Capital" engraved on the ornament.

Jiang Chen walked around the office, looked out the window for a few seconds, and turned to say to Shen Xi, who was following behind him: "You've put a lot of heart into this. This office is really good, better than I expected."

He said this with a natural tone, not as a polite formality, but because he was truly satisfied.

Hearing him say this, the smile on Shen Xi's face became more relaxed: "I'm glad you're satisfied. I personally oversaw several versions of the details."

In the office area, all the employees had arrived early.

Every one of them was a carefully selected industry expert, dressed capably and decently, looking very energetic.

At this moment, although they were all sitting at their workstations without moving much, their gazes were quietly drifting toward Jiang Chen, and they whispered to each other.

"This is the boss? He looks so young."

"You can't judge a book by its cover. To be able to open a company on half a floor of the Changjiang International Center at this age—think about the weight behind that."

"Even President Shen is so respectful in front of him. This person's background must be even bigger than we thought."

"Did you see that office? Two sides of full-view floor-to-ceiling windows, top-tier location... just that tea table inside looks like it wasn't cheap."
