203: Chapter 203 Leisurely Chat

A warm breeze drifted gently across the lush green grass. The noisy chatter of the surrounding crowd was kept at a distance, leaving only the soft rustling of leaves rubbing against each other in their ears.

The two lay side-by-side, stretching out comfortably on the yoga mat. The surroundings were quiet and peaceful, and the restlessness and bustle of the day gradually faded away.

Lin Wan gazed at the layered branches overhead. She was the first to speak, her tone slow as she softly broke the silence.

"These past few days have been incredibly fulfilling. My daily schedule has been packed to the brim, with barely any free time."

At this moment, she had shed her usual cold and distant exterior. Her eyes were relaxed and soft, her voice carried a hint of laziness and contentment, and her entire body relaxed.

Jiang Chen turned his head slightly, his gaze falling on her delicate and quiet profile, his tone casual and warm. "It seems your academic pressure has been quite heavy lately."

"It really has been."

Lin Wan gave a soft hum of agreement and slowly began to describe the rhythm of her recent daily life.

"The difficulty of the sophomore core law courses suddenly ramped up. In class, I have to keep up with the professor's analysis of statutes and precedents, and after class, I have to stay up late organizing notes and repeatedly pouring over those complex cases."

"And that's not all. My internship at Junze Law Firm can't fall behind either. The mentor attorney has recently assigned quite a bit of legal research and document drafting. Plus, the campus professional competition is approaching, so almost all my spare time is spent doing practice questions to prepare. I really don't have any time to rest normally."

She had always been steady and self-disciplined. Even under the dual pressure of an internship at a top law firm and a heavy academic workload, she was used to keeping everything organized.

Day after day of burying herself in her work, life seemed plain and ordinary, but it was lived with a sense of stability and fulfillment.

"Only in the evening, after finishing everything, do I take a slow walk around the campus lake, letting the cool evening breeze relax my nerves after a tense day. It's my way of giving myself a brief moment to breathe."

Jiang Chen listened to her quietly, a warm and gentle smile rippling in his eyes. He lightly covered the back of her hand with his fingertips, their warmth quietly merging.

"You've always pushed yourself so hard. No wonder your grades have always been top-tier in the Law School, and even the mentor attorney at Junze Law Firm is full of praise for you."

Praised so directly by him, the corners of Lin Wan's lips curled up unconsciously. She turned to look at the youth beside her, her eyes gentle as she asked softly, "What about you? Running back and forth all this time, you must be exhausted from being so busy."

Speaking of his own recent situation, Jiang Chen's expression turned slightly serious. Resting his head on his arms, he looked up at the clear, vast sky above and slowly began to talk about his daily routine of running around lately.

"It was indeed busy a while ago, with absolutely no downtime. I was running a three-point line between the company, school, and home all day. Schoolwork, external matters, and family issues were all jumbled together. It was endless trivial things, one after another, with no stopping. It's finally gotten a bit better the last couple of days."

His tone was calm and flat as he unhurriedly recounted those busy daily details.

Lin Wan listened intently, a hint of heartache involuntarily rising in her eyes. She subconsciously leaned slightly closer to him, her tone sincere and soft, filled with heartfelt concern.

"Balancing so many things at once is really too mentally draining. You shouldn't just bury your head and rush forward while neglecting yourself."

"You don't have to strive for perfection in everything; it's also good to slow down and take a breather once in a while. In my eyes, you are already very, very perfect. If you get any more perfect, I'm afraid I won't be worthy of you."

This thoughtful care, uniquely meant for him, flowed into his heart like a warm current, quietly smoothing away the fatigue accumulated from running around for days.

Jiang Chen gently tightened his palm, firmly holding her warm hand as warmth surged in his heart.

"I know my limits, I won't force myself."

He chuckled softly, his expression relaxing, and his tone grew a bit lighter.

"Fortunately, everything is moving forward steadily. The response to the club recruitment today far exceeded expectations. This result makes all the hard work during this period worthwhile."

Lin Wan nodded happily, a relieved and bright smile rippling across her face. "Everything is developing steadily in the direction we envisioned; that's the best outcome."

Dappled golden sunlight filtered through the gaps in the leaves, slowly shifting and swaying over the two of them.

Lin Wan slowly talked about her tight daily schedule, sharing the tricky cases she encountered during her internship, her insights from studying, and the delicate thoughts she had when she was alone.

Jiang Chen also candidly spoke about his true feelings regarding balancing multiple affairs, recounting the various unexpected situations encountered during the club's preparation phase, as well as his own growth and changes along the way.

The two didn't intentionally look for topics, nor was there any awkwardness or politeness. They just slowly poured out the small details of their respective lives.

Their words were gentle and lingering, yet their minds were in perfect harmony, understanding each other's state of mind without needing too many words.

The evening breeze gently stirred the hair on their foreheads, and the sky under the shade of the trees was genial and warm. The two of them just quietly kept each other company, chatting and immersing themselves in this peaceful, heartwarming time alone that belonged only to them.

Time quietly flowed. After a comfortable rest, the first day of club recruitment officially came to an end, and the hustle and bustle of the entire day slowly dispersed.

The setting sun, carrying its warm orange afterglow, poured across the sky, enveloping the entire green lawn in a gentle golden light.

The tables and chairs scattered everywhere, the brightly colored promotional display boards, and the occasional stray flyers were all gilded with a warm and soft rosy glow.

The students who had come to inquire and sign up had already left. The once bustling venue returned to its former tranquility, leaving only the club members who had worked hard all day and the event materials placed all around.

Wang Hao slumped limply in a borrowed folding chair, letting out a long breath he had been holding for a while, and reached up to messily wipe the dense beads of sweat from his forehead.

Even though his body was so tired it felt like it was falling apart, he still couldn't stop the hard-to-conceal joy and excitement from showing on his face.

The results of this club recruitment far exceeded everyone's initial expectations.

Back then, the group of friends had started the Lying Flat Research Club with just a "give it a try" attitude. No one had expected the club to go viral so quickly.

No one knew which student had posted the recruitment updates on the campus forum, but in a short time, the Lying Flat Research Club quickly went viral across the vast Jiangcheng University, its popularity remaining consistently high.

Starting from noon, the recruitment booth was crowded with people, and waves of students coming to inquire and sign up never stopped.

Some genuinely yearned for the relaxed and free atmosphere of the club and made a special trip to submit their registration forms.

Some stopped to look out of curiosity, asking about the club's daily activities, while many other students specifically came to the booth to take photos and check in, immediately sharing them on social media.

For a time, the campus forum and chat groups of various classes were filled with hot topics about the Lying Flat Research Club, and the heat of the discussion simply could not be suppressed.
