167: Chapter 167 Leisure
Shen Xi checked the time, walked to the center of the office area, and clapped her hands twice softly. "Everyone, please pause what you're doing and come over for a moment."
Everyone immediately put down their work and gathered around, quickly forming a semi-circle at the junction of the corridor and the open office area, waiting quietly.
Shen Xi turned slightly, raising her hand to gesture toward Jiang Chen, her tone solemn yet warm.
"I'd like to formally introduce everyone—this is the founder and sole investor of Chenxing Capital, as well as the boss for all of us, Mr. Jiang Chen."
She paused briefly, waiting for all eyes to converge, before continuing, "From the company structure, capital injection, and site selection to the final decisions on business direction, everything has been personally finalized by Mr. Jiang."
"All the preparatory work that I and the rest of you have done is merely executing Mr. Jiang's strategic layout. At Chenxing Capital, Mr. Jiang holds the final decision-making power. I hope everyone is clear on this from the very beginning."
As soon as she finished speaking, everyone almost subconsciously bowed slightly and said in unison, "Hello, Mr. Jiang!"
Their voices were neat and powerful, their eyes filled with curiosity and respect.
Jiang Chen didn't put on airs. He took half a step forward with a smile, his tone easygoing. "Hello, everyone. No need to be so formal. I took a look around just now, and to be honest, this office environment is even better than I imagined. Shen Xi certainly has great taste."
Hearing him say this, the atmosphere relaxed considerably, and some people couldn't help but chuckle.
Jiang Chen continued, "I know that everyone sitting here was handpicked by Shen Xi with a lot of effort. No one in this office is just here to make up the numbers."
"So, I don't have any other requirements for you; just do your jobs well. The company is just starting out, so there will inevitably be various small issues. Don't be afraid; we'll work through them together."
He paused, his gaze sweeping over everyone present, his tone becoming increasingly sincere. "I won't be in the office every day. Shen Xi will be responsible for daily affairs, so you can go directly to her for anything."
"My principle is simple—leave professional matters to professional people. I trust Shen Xi, and I trust all of you. If you do your work beautifully, you won't lack for proper compensation or room for growth."
He spoke these words casually yet seriously, without a hint of condescension.
After the employees heard this, the tension on their faces mostly faded. A few people unconsciously straightened their backs, as if suddenly injected with a surge of motivation.
Shen Xi stood by and listened quietly. The corners of her mouth curved slightly as she chimed in at the right moment, "Mr. Jiang, shall we begin the unveiling?"
"Sure," Jiang Chen nodded.
He walked over to the company nameplate covered by a dark velvet cloth. Shen Xi handed him a pair of silver scissors with both hands; the handles were simple and unadorned but had a quality feel.
The employees on both sides automatically made a path, and all eyes fell on him.
Jiang Chen raised his hand to pinch a corner of the velvet cloth. He didn't do a countdown; he just paused for a second before pulling it away cleanly.
The four characters for 'Chenxing Capital' were revealed. Dark titanium gold was inlaid against a light gray textured background; the font was steady and elegant, not flashy, but possessing a commanding presence.
At the same time, confetti cannons on both sides popped softly. Golden sequins fluttered down; it wasn't pungent or deafening, adding just the right touch of celebration.
The employees began to clap, a crisp and clean applause, and someone even let out a cheer.
Jiang Chen took the scissors and lowered his head to briskly snip the dark gold silk ribbon.
He turned back and smiled at Shen Xi. "Does this count as being officially open for business?"
"It counts," Shen Xi replied, a smile rippling in her eyes as well.
She personally opened the champagne. The amber liquid filled the glass tower layer by layer, with fine bubbles surging up in clusters.
She picked up the first glass and handed it to Jiang Chen with both hands. Jiang Chen took it and raised it toward everyone. "Come, let's have a drink together. From today on, we're all in the same boat. Let's work hard together from now on."
Everyone took a glass and raised it. The atmosphere was lively yet respectful. Someone whispered to a colleague nearby, "The boss seems quite easy to get along with," and the other nodded in agreement.
After finishing the wine in her glass, Shen Xi set it down and addressed everyone. "I will be responsible for daily management and business coordination. If you have any questions, feel free to find me at any time. Mr. Jiang doesn't usually work in the office, so there's no need to disturb him for matters other than major decisions."
Everyone responded in unison, "Understood, President Shen."
Jiang Chen didn't stay any longer, turning back to his office amidst relaxed gazes.
As the door closed, the entire space fell silent, leaving only the faint, low background noise of the city floating outside the window.
He sat down in his executive chair and pressed the power button.
The screen lit up. The desktop was so clean it only had a few default system icons, and in the very center sat a game launcher quietly.
He really didn't have anything else to do at the company today.
The opening ceremony was over, the celebrations were done, the team's morale looked good, and he fully trusted Shen Xi's ability to handle daily operations.
All that was left was to play some games in this office with its unbeatable view, brew a pot of tea, occasionally look at the river view outside the window, and space out.
Quite comfortable.
In the office area outside, employees glanced from afar at the closed door of the CEO's office. Someone whispered with emotion, "The boss probably started getting busy as soon as he closed the door, right?"
The person next to them nodded. "He must be researching strategic directions. A boss of this level has different things in his head than we do."
"We just need to do our own jobs well and not let down what he said."
Meanwhile, inside the CEO's office, the keyboard was clattering away.
On the screen, Jiang Chen's game character was weaving in and out of a team fight with flashy movements. The five opponents couldn't even touch his shadow.
Triple kill.
Quadra kill.
Penta kill.
A burst of brilliant special effects exploded on the screen.
He took a sip of the freshly brewed Da Hong Pao tea from the tea table and leaned back lazily against his chair. His gaze went past the monitor, through the massive floor-to-ceiling window, toward the shimmering waters of the Yangtze River in the distance.
The first day of Chenxing Capital began just like that.
As for the countless details of daily operations...
Well, there was always Shen Xi.
When the round ended, Jiang Chen casually took off his headphones and gave a long stretch, sinking into the large, comfortable leather executive chair.
The river breeze outside blew gently, a hint of cool and moist mist seeping through the gaps in the floor-to-ceiling windows, dispelling the stuffiness of the room.
His gaze wandered over the scattered buildings below, looking down from his high vantage point at the bustling veins of Jiang City. There was no turbulence in his heart, only a sense of relaxation as everything settled into place.
While he was staring out the window and spacing out, the office doorbell rang twice softly, the rhythm gentle and carrying a perfect sense of propriety.
"Come in," Jiang Chen said calmly.
The door was pushed open gently, and Shen Xi walked in carrying a cup of warm tea. Her steps were light, and her expression was gentle yet professional.
She placed the teacup on the tea table and spoke softly, "Mr. Jiang, I'm sorry to disturb your rest."
"It's fine, take a seat." Jiang Chen tilted his chin, gesturing for her to sit in the tea chair opposite him.
Shen Xi sat down composedly, her posture elegant and without the slightest hint of awkwardness.
She weighed her words and reported slowly, "I just had a brief meeting with the heads of each department. The members of the administration, HR, investment research, and risk control teams are all present, and I've already clarified their roles and responsibilities."
"The office systems, employee attendance, financial ledgers, and business reporting processes have all been set up. From today, we can officially enter normal office operations."
Jiang Chen nodded slightly, his expression indifferent. "The arrangements are quite sound."
"It's all part of my duty."
Shen Xi's tone was humble as she continued.
"Additionally, after the opening ceremony, I had someone organize the photos of the unveiling and the office environment. Later, I'll sync them to industry networking circles and our official backup promotion account to make a low-key industry debut. We won't intentionally create hype, but we can't be completely silent either."
"That's fine; low-key is better," Jiang Chen responded casually. He wasn't one for showing off; quietly laying out his plans was far better than high-profile publicity.
Shen Xi continued, "There are two more things to ask for your instructions on. First, according to industry practice, a new company needs to connect with several securities firms, law firms, and accounting firms to establish long-term cooperation channels for future investment, financing, due diligence, and equity structure organization."
"I've screened three firms with top-tier reputations in the industry. I wanted to ask when you would be free so we can set a time to meet and negotiate together."
Jiang Chen took a sip of hot tea and said slowly, "You can decide on such matters. If you think their qualifications are reliable and their style is steady, just finalize the cooperation. There's no need to ask me about everything. Stick to the bottom line, operate legally, and you have full authority to handle the rest of the process."
These words made Shen Xi's heart feel slightly warm.
What she admired most about Jiang Chen was his way of trusting those he employed, giving them sufficient authority and not interfering in minor details. He only controlled the general direction and the bottom line, which made her work exceptionally smooth and comfortable.
"Alright, then I will handle the follow-up and finalize it directly."
Shen Xi acknowledged this and then moved on to the second matter.
"The company has two vacant independent negotiation rooms and one small private reception room. I plan to set them up as high-end business reception rooms, adding a set of custom tea tables and reception furniture to facilitate future meetings with partners, investors, and project parties."
"I've already made a preliminary budget. The amount isn't high and is within a reasonable range."
"No need to show me the budget; just arrange it as you see fit. Keep the style simple and high-class, not flashy or extravagant."
Jiang Chen waved his hand, not caring about these minor expenses. "The company's facade needs to be upheld, but there's no need for waste. Just keep it appropriate."
"I understand your thoughts."
Shen Xi nodded in understanding, and then her tone softened slightly.
"Also, I've already given the employees a brief pep talk and made arrangements. Everyone is very satisfied with the office environment and the company's strength. Morale is high, and they all understand that you won't be in the office often and that I will coordinate daily affairs, so they won't disturb you unnecessarily."
Jiang Chen chuckled. "That's good. I'm just looking for some peace and quiet."
Shen Xi looked at his relaxed and natural manner, devoid of any bossy airs. A faint smile flickered in her eyes as she said softly.
"Rest assured, I will manage the internal order well to ensure no noise from outside disturbs you. Whether you want to stay in your office quietly, drink tea and rest, or handle your private affairs, you won't be affected."
