207: Chapter 207 The Great Adventure

Hearing this, everyone's interest was piqued. Their nerves, which had been frayed from days of running around for recruitment, finally relaxed completely, and no one wanted to end the night early and head back.

"Sure, it's the perfect way to unwind after dinner," Zhou Kai chimed in immediately. It was rare for everyone to gather like this; it would be a shame to miss out.

Liu Xinyi clapped her hands with a smile. "Then let's go to that self-service KTV nearby. It has a comfortable environment and spacious rooms, perfect for a big group like us to have some fun."

The proposal was passed unanimously. Everyone packed up their belongings and walked out of the restaurant together.

The evening breeze swept over them, carrying the crisp chill of early autumn. The streetlights lit up one by one, casting a warm glow as the group chatted, laughed, and strolled leisurely toward the KTV.

They arrived at their destination in no time. After booking a room at the front desk, they filed in one after another.

Inside the dimly lit room, colorful lights swirled around. Soft sofas lined the walls, and the sound system was fully equipped.

Everyone sat down casually. Some began messing with the microphones to test them, while others ordered drinks. A few bottles of low-alcohol fruit wine and refreshing beer were placed on the table alongside some snacks, instantly setting the perfect mood.

At first, everyone was still a bit reserved and polite. They took turns selecting a few songs to warm up the room. As popular hits and nostalgic ballads played one after another, laughter and chatter gradually filled the room.

After a few drinks, the atmosphere grew even more lively.

Wang Hao was naturally lively, and with a slight buzz from the alcohol, he let loose completely. Holding a beer bottle, he stood up and raised his glass to everyone. "Just singing is so boring. Come on, let's play a few rounds of Truth or Dare! No backing out if you lose!"

This suggestion immediately drew a chorus of agreement.

Chen Siyue laughed and slapped the table. "Alright, Wang Hao, you really know how to get things going!"

Wang Hao chuckled, placed an empty beer bottle horizontally in the center of the coffee table, and gave it a sharp spin with his fingers. The bottle spun rapidly.

Everyone held their breath, staring at the spinning green glass. The bottle slowed down and eventually stopped, pointing squarely at Jiang Chen.

"Oh..." The room erupted into its first wave of teasing.

Wang Hao slapped his thigh in delight. "Chenzi! Off to a flying start! Truth or Dare?"

Jiang Chen put down his glass and smiled helplessly. "Truth."

Chen Siyue's eyes darted around as she jumped in to ask first, wearing a meaningful smile. "Then I have to ask something real. Jiang Chen, what is your ideal type?"

Jiang Chen was slightly startled upon hearing this, then let out a low chuckle.

His gaze instinctively drifted to his side. Lin Wan was taking small sips from a glass of fruit wine. Sensing his eyes on her, her movements stiffened slightly, and a faint pink blush crept up the tips of her ears.

Jiang Chen withdrew his gaze, took a sip from his glass, and said with a faint smile playing on his lips, "Pretty, gentle and elegant, dedicated to her work, and has a beautiful smile. That's about it."

"So 'pretty' is the first condition!" Wang Hao immediately seized on the key point, winking and teasing, "So, who here fits that description?"

Everyone turned their heads in unison to look at Lin Wan, drawing out their voices meaningfully, "Ooh~"

Lin Wan's cheeks flushed crimson at the attention. She took a big gulp of her fruit wine to hide her fluster, staring down at the coffee table, not daring to look up.

Jiang Chen, on the other hand, remained completely composed, letting them tease him, though the smile at the corner of his lips was impossible to hide.

"Boo..." The crowd was clearly unsatisfied with his calm demeanor, but the bottle had already started spinning for the next round.

Over the next few rounds, some were forced to confess embarrassing childhood stories, sending the room into fits of laughter, while others were penalized with funny dares that left everyone doubled over.

Wang Hao himself got caught once. His penalty was to sing a children's song while wearing a throw pillow as a hat, and the laughter and shouting in the room almost blew the roof off.

The bottle spun again, slowing down gradually before stopping with its mouth pointing directly at Lin Wan.

Lin Wan's body stiffened slightly, and her hands instinctively tightened around her glass.

She had been hiding beside Chen Siyue as a spectator, smiling happily, but suddenly finding herself the center of attention left her completely at a loss.

Wang Hao clapped his hands and teased, "Lin Wan, don't hide! Truth or Dare? Let me tell you upfront, if you choose Dare, that's exactly what we're hoping for!"

Lin Wan bit her lower lip, hesitated for a moment, and whispered, "Then... Dare."

The moment the words left her mouth, she regretted it, because the smile on Wang Hao's face instantly became incredibly radiant.

"Awesome!"

Wang Hao waved his hand, a glint of mischief flashing in his eyes. "Then it's simple. Choose a guy in the room and give him a kiss. Just on the cheek is fine!"

The room instantly erupted. Whistles, screams, and the sound of hands slamming on the table filled the air.

Lin Wan froze in place, her face flushing so red it looked ready to bleed, the heat spreading from her cheeks all the way to her ears and down her fair neck.

"Wang Hao, that's way too cruel!" Chen Siyue laughed and scolded, though her eyes were filled with the excitement of watching a good show.

Lin Wan instinctively looked around, only to find everyone's eyes darting back and forth between her and Jiang Chen.

The girls covered their mouths and giggled, while the guys wore "if you know, you know" expressions. Some had already whipped out their phones, ready to record.

Meanwhile, Jiang Chen had been leaning back on the sofa the entire time, looking relaxed with one arm draped over the backrest.

He didn't speak up to bail her out, nor did he pretend to be a gentleman and look away. Instead, with a half-smile playing on his lips, he watched her with leisurely amusement.

His warm eyes shone exceptionally bright under the swirling lights, as if waiting for her to make a decision, or perhaps already certain of who she would choose.

Lin Wan's heart trembled under his gaze. She felt both embarrassed and annoyed, but she couldn't squeeze out a single word.

"Hurry up, hurry up!" Wang Hao urged, holding up his phone with his eyes squinted into slits from laughing. "Lin Wan, make your choice!"

Lin Wan took a deep breath, as if she had made up her mind. Clenching her fists, she spun around abruptly and took a few quick steps to stand right in front of Jiang Chen.

Jiang Chen tilted his head up slightly to look at her, the smile on his lips deepening. He didn't say a word, just waiting quietly.

Lin Wan leaned down, her movement as swift as a dragonfly brushing the water, and lightly pressed her lips against his cheek.

That brief moment was so fleeting she barely had time to feel any warmth, leaving only a faint, sweet aroma of fruit wine that drifted into his nose.

The moment the kiss was over, she sprang back as if burned, retreating several steps. She covered her burning cheeks with both hands, wishing she could find a hole in the ground to crawl into.

Jiang Chen was slightly startled by the kiss. He raised his hand to touch the spot she had brushed against, then let out a low chuckle.

The chuckle was kept low in his throat, not loud, but inexplicably heart-melting.

The room went dead silent for a full second before erupting into a deafening roar of cheers.

"Whoaaaaaa—!"

Wang Hao slammed the coffee table excitedly, making the beer bottles bounce three times. "She kissed him! She kissed him! She actually kissed him! We're witnessing history, guys!"

"What do you mean, 'Dare'?"

He added mischievously, his voice so loud it made the entire room ring. "Lin Wan, don't act like you got the short end of the stick here. This is a reward, not a punishment! There's a line of people stretching across the entire school who would kill for this opportunity!"
