27: Chapter 27 A Thunderous Sweep: Let Fear Bloom in the Night

A dark and windy night—perfect for killing.

Kokang region, Jinxiang Park.

This was one of the largest telecom fraud dens in the Kokang region besides Feifan Park, and it was also the Bai family's most important "cash cow." Thousands of "piglets" lured from domestic regions were imprisoned here, where inhumane tragedies played out every day.

The park's boss was named Bai Laosan; he was Bai Yingneng's cousin and used his family's influence to act like a local tyrant here.

At this moment, Bai Laosan was embracing two glamorous women in his office, drinking red wine while listening to his subordinates report on their "performance."

"Third Master, have you heard? That guy named Zhang Cheng seems to be reorganizing his troops lately," a subordinate said cautiously. "Should we also step up our security? Just in case..."

"Fear my ass!" Bai Laosan waved his hand drunkenly. "What kind of thing is Zhang Cheng supposed to be? Last time was just that idiot Yang Maoliang underestimating the enemy! This place is the Bai family's territory! How far is it from the Old Street? He dares to move against me? I'd like to see where he gets the guts!"

"Besides, our walls are five meters high, we have over a dozen machine guns stationed, and there's a minefield. If he dares to come, I'll make sure he never leaves!"

BOOM—!!!

Before Bai Laosan could finish his sentence, an earth-shattering explosion knocked him right out of his executive chair.

The wine glass in his hand shattered into pieces, and the red liquid spilled onto the carpet, looking remarkably like fresh blood.

"Wh... what's going on?!" Bai Laosan was half-sobered by the fright and scrambled to his feet.

"Enemy attack! Third Master! Someone is breaking in!"

Heart-wrenching screams from his subordinates came through the walkie-talkie, accompanied by the background noise of dense gunfire that sounded like beans popping in a pan.

Da-da-da-da—!

That unique, short, and powerful burst of fire was the death sonata of an AK-47 in the hands of an expert.

Bai Laosan rushed to the window and looked out, his soul nearly departing his body in terror.

He saw that a huge gap had been blown into the park's main gate. Two modified armed pickups were roaring inside, the heavy machine guns on their roofs spitting half-meter-long tongues of fire, shredding the sentries and sandbags alike at the entrance.

Behind the pickups, countless soldiers dressed in black combat uniforms surged in like a black tide.

There were no shouts and no chaos; they moved in groups of three, covering each other like a precision killing machine.

Some were responsible for fire suppression, some for throwing grenades, and others for accurately sniping any enemies who showed their heads.

Puff! Puff! Puff!

Bai Laosan saw with his own eyes that the security captain he had hired at a high price—a man known as a "Soldier King"—had his head explode like a rotten watermelon the moment he raised his gun.

Further away, several mortars were unhurriedly performing surgical strikes.

Thump! Thump!

Two shells landed precisely on the watchtowers on both sides, sending the two heavy machine guns and their gunners into the sky.

A total crush!

This was a completely asymmetrical slaughter!

"Quick! Run!" Bai Laosan was so scared he wet his pants. He turned and ran toward a secret passage. "Take the money! Take the gold bars! Let's go!"

"Wh... what about those piglets?" a subordinate asked.

"Let them rot!" Bai Laosan's face was distorted. "They're just a bunch of dead weight! Lock all the doors! Cut the power! Let them be buried with me!"

This was the logic of these beasts. In their eyes, human lives were worth less than weeds.

However, Zhang Cheng had no intention of giving them a chance to escape.

"First Battalion, seal off all exits! Don't let a single fly escape!"

"Second Battalion, clear out the remaining enemies and secure the high ground!"

"Special Ops Team, follow me! Decapitation strike!"

Zhang Cheng's voice was clearly transmitted to the ears of every Death Soldier through the individual communication system.

He personally led Old K and dozens of the most elite Death Soldiers, driving like a sharp blade straight into the office building.

Bang!

The office door was kicked open.

Bai Laosan had just opened the safe and hadn't even had time to stuff the gold bars into his bag when he felt a chill on his neck.

A pitch-black tactical knife was already pressed against his throat.

"Third Master Bai, where are you going in such a hurry?"

Zhang Cheng stepped out of the shadows, playing with a pistol in his hand, a mocking smile on his face.

"Zhang... Zhang Cheng?!" The gold bars in Bai Laosan's hand fell to the floor with a clang. "Don't... don't kill me! I'm a member of the Bai family! If you kill me, the Bai family won't let you get away with it!"

"The Bai family?" Zhang Cheng sneered and crushed the shattered wine glass on the floor with his foot. "After tonight, the Bai family won't have a say in Kokang anymore."

"Take him away! Clean this place up for me!"

"Yes!"

...

At the same time, Yonglong Park.

The situation here was even more tragic than at Jinxiang Park. Because the boss here was a lunatic, he attempted to use hundreds of piglets as hostages.

"Don't come any closer! If you come any closer, I'll blow them all up!"

That boss held a remote control, standing in the middle of a group of shivering hostages, screaming hysterically.

But before he could finish his threat, a bullet pierced through the window and accurately shattered his wrist.

"Ah—!"

The remote control fell.

The next second, several flashbangs and smoke grenades were tossed inside.

"Move out!"

Special Ops Death Soldiers burst through the windows like ghosts.

The sounds of gunfire, screams, and heavy bodies hitting the floor rang out in the smoke.

When the smoke cleared, the floor was a mess. All the thugs had been killed with headshots, while the hostages, aside from being frightened, were completely unharmed.

Tonight was doomsday for the telecom fraud syndicates in Kokang.

Zhang Cheng's "Death God Legion" had split into several torrents, sweeping through every park, large and small, in the Kokang region with thunderous momentum.

Gunfire echoed across the night sky, and the flames painted half the horizon red.

Countless once-arrogant ringleaders were dragged out of their sleep and thrown onto the ground like dead dogs.

Countless imprisoned compatriots saw those black military uniforms in the darkness and shed tears of excitement.

Zhang Cheng stood on the roof of the Jinxiang Park building, watching the signal flares rising in the distance, each representing a captured stronghold.

"Report to Sovereign! Jinxiang Park has been cleared! 1,200 personnel rescued!"

"Report to Sovereign! Yonglong Park has been cleared! 800 personnel rescued!"

"Report..."

Victory reports kept pouring in.

Zhang Cheng took a deep breath of the air tinged with the smell of gunpowder and turned to look north.

"Notify the Dragon Kingdom's side to prepare for reception."

"I hope they like this great gift."

"As for those few families..." Zhang Cheng's gaze turned toward the direction of the Yang and Bai families, a bloodthirsty glint flashing in his eyes.

"I let you live one more night; tomorrow, we'll settle the final score!"
