33: Chapter 33 Steel Storm: When Death Knocks, Hell Opens its Door
Zhang Cheng's orders were like an irresistible program command, instantly activating the entire war machine.
After receiving secret aid from the Dragon Nation (mainly satellite maps and communication frequency support), the Death God Legion's vision was as if they had enabled a full-map hack; the distribution map of all the scam parks in Northern Myanmar lit up on Old K's tactical tablet like a starry sky.
"First Battalion, target 'Yonghong'. Second Battalion, target 'Liuli'. This time, no prisoners are needed, only cleanup."
As Old K's cold command was issued, the torrent of steel lurking in the shadows roared to life.
Yonghong Park, 2:00 AM.
Aside from Feifan Park, this was the largest concentration camp for 'piglets' in the Kokang region. With high walls, electric fences, and searchlights sweeping back and forth like will-o'-the-wisps, several private armed guards wearing bulletproof vests stood on the walls, hugging their rifles and yawning, with crates of beer and peanuts at their feet.
"Hey, have you heard? That guy named Zhang Cheng up north, it seems he knocked Brigadier General Yang down?" A pockmarked guard blew a smoke ring, his tone tinged with disdain. "I think he just got lucky. If he dares to come to our Yonghong, the Third Master's twin anti-aircraft machine gun will beat the sh*t out of him."
"Exactly, this is the Bai family's territory; he wouldn't dare even if he had the guts..."
"Whoosh—" Before the words could fade, a sharp, hair-raising whistling sound suddenly tore through the air.
The pockmarked guard instinctively looked up, but before he could see what it was, his field of vision was completely filled by a blinding flash of fire.
"Boom! Boom! Boom!" Three mortar shells landed in a triangular formation, smashing with pinpoint precision into the main gate and the watchtowers at the two high points!
The violent explosion instantly tore through the night sky. The guard who had just been bragging about the twin machine gun, along with the gun itself, was blown into a pile of twisted scrap metal and minced flesh. Severed limbs and arms fell like rain, accompanied by rubble and bricks.
Immediately after, the earth began to tremble. From the dark jungle, two heavily modified, armed pickup trucks roared out! Their front bumpers were welded with ferocious collision-resistant steel beams, and the 12.7mm heavy machine guns mounted in the truck beds spat out half-meter-long tongues of fire, like two dragons, instantly shredding the remaining defenses at the gate to pieces!
"Enemy attack! Enemy attack!!" The park was in complete chaos. The thugs who usually strutted around with electric batons were now like a poked hornet's nest, scurrying around like headless flies.
"Hold them off! Hold them off! Whoever dares to retreat, I'll shoot them dead!" The park manager, Third Master Bai, a collateral descendant of the Bai family, scrambled out from under the covers with a woman, waving his pistol and screaming hysterically.
However, the answer he received was an even more intense suppression of firepower. The soldiers of the Death God Legion poured in like a black tide through the breached gap. They moved in three-man teams, their tactical maneuvers standard to an appalling degree.
The ones in front advanced with riot shields, the riflemen in the middle fired precision shots, and the throwers in the back tossed flashbangs and stun grenades into the rooms where resistance was attempted.
"Bang! Bang!" Two crisp gunshots rang out.
Third Master Bai had just raised his gun, and before he could even see where the enemy was, blood flowers burst simultaneously from his forehead and chest. He stared wide-eyed, fell backward stiffly, and died with his eyes wide open.
With the death of their leader, the remaining resistance instantly collapsed.
"Don't kill me! I surrender! I was forced to do this!"
"I have money! I have gold bars! They're all under the bed!"
The thugs who were usually fierce and malicious were now kneeling on the ground one by one, banging their heads on the floor so hard it made a sound, with urine and feces leaking all over the ground.
But the soldiers of the Death God Legion remained unmoved. Zhang Cheng's order was: those who resist with weapons are to be killed without mercy; those who have committed heinous crimes are to be executed on the spot.
Gunshots echoed throughout the park; it was the final reckoning for their sins.
Meanwhile, in the basements and dormitory buildings of the park, the imprisoned 'piglets' were huddled in corners, shivering. Hearing the gunfire and explosions outside, they assumed it was just another warlord coming to seize territory, and that an even more miserable fate awaited them.
Until— "Clang!" The heavy iron door was violently forced open. Light shone into the gloomy cage.
A soldier wearing a black combat uniform and a mask walked in. Looking at the room full of compatriots who were barely clothed and covered in scars, his originally cold eyes flickered.
He removed his mask, revealing a young but resolute face, and shouted in standard Mandarin: "Fellow countrymen! Don't be afraid! We are the 'Kokang National Army'! Chairman Zhang Cheng sent us to save you and bring you home!"
This shout rang out like a thunderclap in the deathly silent cage.
"Go... go home?" A young man, thin as a skeleton, raised his head tremblingly and looked at the soldier in disbelief, tears instantly welling up in his eyes.
"Can we... really go home?"
"Yes! The motherland is right across the border! The trucks are waiting outside!" The soldier strode over and helped the young man up. "Let's go! Let's go home!"
That night, the sound of weeping shook the heavens. It was not out of fear, but of rebirth.
The same scene was playing out simultaneously in Liuli Park, Shengyuan Technology Park, and every corner of sin in Kokang.
Zhang Cheng's 'Death God Legion' was like a precise scalpel, excising these malignant tumors attached to the body of Northern Myanmar root and branch in just one night!
Those scam ringleaders who fled in panic faced a nightmare. They were ambushed on mountain roads and sniped in dense forests. Zhang Cheng even utilized the newly exchanged drones for thermal imaging searches, leaving them with nowhere to run, neither to the sky nor into the earth.
Some ringleaders, in order to save their lives, scattered crates of cash on the road in an attempt to block the pursuers, only to have them kicked aside by the Death Soldiers who caught up and were then shot in the head.
Some insane ringleaders tried to blow up the buildings where hostages were held, but before they could press the detonator, their wrists were shattered by sniper bullets.
This wasn't a war; it was a one-sided crushing, a long-overdue judgment!
Zhang Cheng sat in the command room of Dawn Base, watching the green dots on the screen (representing occupied areas) constantly jumping and the points rising steadily, his eyes as cold as iron.
[Ding—Cleanup of Yonghong Park complete, 1,200 people rescued, reward: 5,000 points.] [Ding—Cleanup of Liuli Park complete, ringleader eliminated, reward: 3,000 points.] [Current point balance: 21,300 points.]
"We're just getting started." Zhang Cheng sneered, his gaze fixed on the largest red dots on the map—the lairs of the Four Great Families. "I've eaten a bunch of flies; now, it's time to hunt the tigers."
