881: I am not the murderer

"Existence is lying?!"

Mo De was completely stunned by the System's reply, as he had already confirmed the answer in his heart that he was the murderer.

[1. You are the murderer of the dismemberment case, but no one knows this.

You should maintain your original enthusiasm and get along with the residents of the Town.]

This was the original Weird Tales Rule.

However, the information after being modified by the System had changed into another form.

[1. You are not the murderer of the dismemberment case.

You only need to interact with the residents of the Town as usual.]

Looking at this line of information corrected by the System, Mo De was completely bewildered.

He wasn't the murderer...

That's right.

The day before yesterday, Corey, Old Tang Na, and Bertha were all contacted by that mysterious person, and the murderer appeared that day.

And on that day, after eating the sandwich, he had followed the System's instructions to eliminate the effects brought by the sandwich.

He clearly knew what he was doing; it was impossible for him to contact those people or arrange for them to do anything.

Then who could the murderer be?

Who else could it be?!

Two people wearing hooded coats appeared in the Redwood Forest; one was Bertha and the other was Old Tang Na.

He had only met a few people.

Old Tang Na wasn't the murderer, and he wasn't the murderer.

The suspects were back to the starting point.

Corey, Bertha, the Boss of the breakfast shop, and people like the locksmith...

The crucial point was, these people were basically cleared of suspicion!

Mo De thought of a point mentioned in today's Weird Tales Rule.

It said that Bosen was still alive!

After a morning of thinking, Mo De realized that this information, whether true or false, was not important in nature.

Because the dismemberment was real.

Even if the deceased was not Bosen, the murder case was a foregone conclusion!

His goal was to find the murderer of the dismemberment case, not the person who killed Bosen.

And since someone died, there must be a murderer!

Unless the murderer was Bosen himself, then this information would be meaningful!

This sudden thought startled Mo De himself.

"Captain, another body was found in this basement."

Corey and Old Tang Na ran out, somewhat unbearable, to report.

After more than half an hour.

The body in the basement was moved out by Corey and Old Tang Na.

The body was complete and not the upper torso of the dismembered bodies from the Redwood Forest as imagined.

The moment Mo De saw the body, he noticed a patch of dark luster on it.

This was the System's reminder of physical evidence related to the case!

This body was also connected to the dismemberment case!

"Should we call the forensic doctor?"

Corey asked Mo De.

"How long will it take?"

Mo De circled the body for a look, then asked Corey.

If a forensic doctor could come to identify and provide data, that would naturally be best.

"The nearest forensic doctor is in the Town.

Notifying them and waiting for them to send someone over might take until tomorrow morning," Corey replied truthfully.

Hearing this, Mo De immediately dismissed the idea of calling a forensic doctor.

The time he had left was until 12 AM tomorrow night.

If the forensic doctor came in the morning, it would take at least half a day to examine and produce some results.

For him, it was like 'distant water cannot quench near thirst'; it was meaningless.

He'd better observe it himself.

Thinking to himself, the man's gaze fell on the complete body again.

This body had actually mostly decayed, leaving only a pile of bones and some barely attached rotten flesh.

According to Corey and Old Tang Na's description, they found this body in the ground under the cabinet.

Because it was sealed in a large wooden box, the body was relatively well-preserved.

Thus, Mo De could roughly determine from the body's small pelvis that it was a female body.

A woman's small pelvis is larger due to childbirth.

Also, the skull, this is an important point for distinguishing gender.

After confirming that the other party was a woman, Mo De immediately thought of the Lin Yue's wife he had encountered in the house these past few nights.

Looking at Una's body taken out of the wardrobe next to him, it was almost certain that the deceased was his Lin Yue's wife.

It seemed that his Lin Yue's wife and daughter were both killed by someone together?

Continuing to observe, Mo De noticed a key point.

That was, the finger bones of both ring fingers on this body were missing.

At first, Mo De thought they were lost because the body had been there for too long.

However, after careful observation, Mo De found that the fracture points of these two ring finger bones were not where the tendons and fascia connected, but were cut!

Before this woman died, both her ring fingers were cut off!

In the eyes of many, the only crucial function of the ring finger is to wear a ring symbolizing marriage!

Intentionally cutting off this woman's ring fingers, could it mean that the murderer cared greatly about this point?

The murderer believed this woman was unworthy of love, that she was unfaithful, that this woman had an affair!

The only person who would care whether a woman had an affair or not was her husband.

Almost instantly, Mo De determined the reason.

The murderer who killed this woman was her husband!

So in the end, it's still him?

The identity that the Tales of the Weird world arranged for him, upon investigation, had too many suspicious points.

Perhaps this was the purpose of this World.

If the System hadn't explicitly told him the answer that he wasn't the murderer, in a normal situation, he would inevitably become increasingly convinced that he himself was the murderer!

Even to the point of choosing suicide, ending everything by taking his own life!

Coming back to his senses, Mo De glanced at the remaining time of the afternoon, which had begun to dwindle.

His Lin Yue's wife was killed for having an affair, and the System informed him that this matter was related to the dismemberment case in the Redwood Forest.

According to normal logic.

It could only mean that the deceased in the Redwood Forest was the lover!

Bosen had also been involved with the Sheriff's Lin Yue's wife!

Then the Sheriff's active investigation and organization of information was completely invalid; this was a disguise!

The real him should have hated Bosen intensely, and he himself might even have become the murderer to kill Bosen!

He was the murderer!

Another suspicious point was added to him.

Mo De had a bit of a headache.

He looked again at Weird Tales Rule 1, corrected by the System.

It clearly stated that he was not the murderer!

The clear fact cut off this line of thought.

He must have overlooked something crucial.

Walking quickly towards the house, Mo De thought about continuing to search for some physical evidence-related items in other places.

Although there was already a good amount of physical evidence and various information, Mo De felt there was still a veil between him and the final truth.

It was daytime now.

The light was better.

Mo De circled through a few rooms and finally came to the kitchen.

He had already been to the kitchen last night, but it was too dark then, and coupled with the task of eating raw meat, he didn't have time to observe properly.

Coming back to the kitchen today, Mo De could see that the raw meat he had left over from last night was still by the sink.

However, the paste-like meat balls he had seen yesterday were no longer visible.

His gaze swept around the kitchen.

Suddenly.

Mo De's eyes fell on the refrigerator next to him.

This refrigerator emitted some dark aura!

This was the System's reminder of the presence of physical evidence!
