113: Chapter 113 The Trap of Sacrificing Pawns
Fang Che withdrew his gaze from the Clock Tower, ignoring the shouting Black Shark members beside him.
This group of people who relied on brute force to satisfy their physiological needs were simply not worthy of triggering his system's Critical Hit judgment.
The red bloodstains left on the high walls marked the survival rules hidden within these ruins.
"Let's go."
Fang Che turned around and walked directly toward the other side.
Su Qingxue, Teacher Qin Bing, Jiang Ning, and the others immediately followed.
More than twenty girls fell into line behind him, gripping their weapons tightly, their footsteps making no unnecessary noise.
The expression on Chen Xiao's face darkened.
The shirtless men behind him looked at each other; they were stunned at first, but soon began shouting curses.
"Fuck, what the hell does that pretty boy mean?"
"What's he acting all high and mighty for? Does he really think we don't dare to touch him?"
The bald man's neck turned red, and he raised his knife, ready to charge forward.
"Brother Xiao, I'll go break that bastard's legs."
"Stand down!"
Chen Xiao's expression was grim as he raised his hand and pressed firmly on the bald man's shoulder.
He watched Fang Che's group walk away, observing them enter a dilapidated bus station and take up position behind the thickest circle of concrete walls in the vicinity.
Chen Xiao reached up to touch the scar on his face, his eyes narrowing.
"These women don't look so easy to deal with."
"Let them hide. This shitty place only has so much area; if they want to survive, they'll eventually have to crawl out to find the flags."
"Send a few people over. Forget about the supplies for now; block every blind spot around that bus station. Don't let a single living thing slip out."
Fang Che led his group into the abandoned bus terminal.
The surroundings were made of sturdy concrete structures, with only the main entrance and one large opening for access.
"Hurry up, don't drag your feet."
Jiang Ning, carrying her combat knife, ran to the front and slashed at the few monsters approaching them.
After her physical enhancement, dealing with these ordinary monsters was effortless; she took them all down in a few strikes.
She turned back and shouted to those behind her.
"Xinyi, get people to take that scrap metal nearby and block the opening."
"Okay."
Lin Xinyi replied immediately, her eyes much steadier than before, and she quickly called a few classmates over to help.
A few people dragged over rusted iron cabinets and broken chairs, quickly sealing the gap entirely.
Fang Che stood by, watching their movements; the previous physical training had finally paid off.
"Come over for a short meeting."
Fang Che looked around; Su Qingxue, Teacher Qin Bing, Mu Waner, and Jiang Ning all walked over.
"We have three things to handle right now."
"First, find the flags. This is the foundation for survival."
"We also need to find the energy core. The Train's energy reserves are almost empty; without that thing, we can't leave."
Fang Che paused, his expression turning cold.
"The last point is the most suspicious: how did that group from Black Shark know that everyone on our side is female? Our details have been scouted too clearly."
Several of them looked at each other, remaining silent.
Mu Waner reached up to adjust her glasses, the screen in her hand constantly displaying new data.
"Something leaked our intelligence; it's likely the system wants to lure them into causing us trouble first."
Su Qingxue spoke up next.
"Those people from Black Shark aren't very bright, but there are a lot of them. If we just let them wear us down like this, we won't be able to find any supplies."
She turned her head to look at Fang Che.
"We have to split up. Three groups. You take the main force to find the flags, and Jiang Ning stays behind to guard our people."
"We still need someone to figure out what Black Shark is planning; we must find a way to divert their attention."
Mu Waner swiped up a map on her screen, pointing to several glowing locations.
"I agree. Based on the current building layout, there are three places with the highest probability of hiding things."
"That Clock Tower you looked at earlier, the abandoned commercial district in the center, and the old power station to the east."
The routes were completely separated, and the danger level had increased.
As everyone was calculating how to divide the personnel, Gu Nanzhi, who had been hiding in the back, suddenly spoke in a low voice.
"Brother Fang Che, let me go."
Everyone around turned to look at her.
Gu Nanzhi looked a bit frightened, but her eyes were fixed on Fang Che.
"I'll go be the eyes and ears. I'll go to Black Shark's side and listen to what they're planning."
Jiang Ning interrupted her directly.
"Are you crazy? With your physique, running over there is suicide. You'll be swallowed alive by those animals before you even get close."
Gu Nanzhi didn't argue with her, but looked at Fang Che and explained slowly.
"Sister Jiang Ning, I definitely can't win in a direct fight, but gathering information doesn't require strength."
She lowered her head and said softly.
"My Thousand-Face Weaving Bureau talent is specifically for changing identities and deceiving people. If I go by myself, they will definitely not recognize me; taking more people would only make it easier to get exposed."
Jiang Ning frowned, completely unimpressed by her act.
"That sounds nice, but when something actually happens, you'll turn around and sell us all out just to save your own life."
Gu Nanzhi lifted her face and smiled, an expression that made Jiang Ning feel extremely uncomfortable.
"Sister Jiang Ning, are you worried about me getting into trouble, or are you afraid that I'll steal all your thunder?"
"You motherfucker."
Jiang Ning gripped her knife handle, ready to curse.
"Alright, stop arguing."
Fang Che spoke up to stop them.
He knew exactly what this woman was planning: she wanted to find a backer, prove her worth, and gain a voice on the Train.
In this current environment, as long as someone like this has useful abilities, they can actually be a good blade.
"You can go by yourself."
Fang Che looked into Gu Nanzhi's eyes; beside him, Jiang Ning had a stunned expression.
"Too many people just get in the way. Your talent can indeed come in handy. Don't go pretending to be some refugee or beggar; only brainless people try to play the victim."
Fang Che paused, his tone heavy.
"Go create a new, flawless identity for yourself. You have only one mission: find out the situation with Black Shark and the other group, create some chaos while you're at it, and if there's danger, run immediately."
Gu Nanzhi's eyes instantly became extremely bright, and the previous sense of fragility vanished completely.
She believed she had earned Fang Che's approval, nodding vigorously, her voice even trembling slightly.
"Thank you, Brother Fang Che. I will definitely get the job done."
The Black Shark members had already set up camp in the ruins on the other side.
Chen Xiao shouted at the few people around him, giving instructions.
"Listen clearly, all of you."
"Spread out and go spread some rumors in this ruin."
The bald man touched his head and leaned in.
"Brother Xiao, what rumors should we spread?"
Chen Xiao raised his hand and slapped the back of the bald man's head, the scar on his face bunching up.
"Just go out and brag, say that pretty boy surnamed Fang on the 774 Train is extremely bizarre."
He leaned in and lowered his voice.
"Say that he can make women's attributes skyrocket, and that anyone who sleeps with him can become stronger."
"The more exaggerated, the better. Say that all the women in his Train are just living items for him to boost his strength."
"I want to see who can resist not making a move by then."
Two men in gray clothes stood in the shadows of the building nearby.
The two looked at each other, and the one beside him lowered his head, typing rapidly on the communicator screen.
"Gray Pigeon reporting situation: Target 774 might have a special method for increasing strength. Value assessment: extremely high."
The man standing next to him swallowed hard, staring in the direction of the Black Shark camp.
"The boss previously said not to get involved and to just watch the situation first."
"What the hell is there to watch anymore?"
"What kind of opponent is that 774?"
