63: Chapter 63 The Ghost Student's Suicide Attempt?
Third floor. Inside the classroom of Grade 12, Class 2.
Teacher Qin Bing pressed her hands onto the podium, her brain still buzzing.
A second ago, Teacher Qin Bing had clearly still been in the corridor. She slipped, and when she came to her senses, she was already standing on a strange podium.
What kind of absurd situation is this?
She forcibly suppressed the scream in her throat and swept her gaze over the audience below; her stomach immediately churned violently.
The entire classroom was divided by an invisible line.
On the left, Jiang Ning and the other surviving girls huddled in their seats, their faces deathly pale, like quails scared out of their wits, even breathing cautiously.
On the right, it was filled with "students" wearing blue and white school uniforms. They all sat rigidly, faces turned toward the blackboard.
Those were blank faces, devoid of features, just an expanse of smooth skin that made one's skin crawl at a single glance.
"Gulp." Teacher Qin Bing swallowed with difficulty, her mouth parched. Her gaze involuntarily fell back onto the podium in front of her.
In the very center of the table lay a piece of yellow paper with curled edges, stained with dried black blood.
A thick, fishy stench assaulted her.
On the paper, four hideous black characters seemed ready to leap into her eyes.
[Teacher's Code of Conduct]
Teacher Qin Bing gritted her teeth and read it word by word.
[One: As a teacher, one must ensure absolute discipline in the classroom.]
[Two: When facing students who violate discipline, failure to impose strict punishment is considered a serious dereliction of duty.]
[Three: Teachers who are derelict in their duties will be immediately stripped of their teaching qualifications and become a snack for all the teachers and students.]
A snack!
These four words hit Teacher Qin Bing's temples like a heavy hammer. She could almost hear the sticky sounds of those monsters chewing flesh and bone outside the classroom.
She looked down and discovered that at some point, a cold white piece of chalk had been thrust into her right hand.
The meaning of the rules was clear: either she acted as a qualified "teacher" and disciplined this group of ghosts, or she would become their lunch.
Ring—! A sharp, ear-piercing bell for class suddenly rang out, then abruptly stopped.
The classroom fell into a deathly silence.
Just then, in the second-to-last row on the right, a "student" moved.
It stood up slowly, its body twisted at a bizarre angle. Most terrifying was its chin, which looked as if it had been forcibly torn in half, hanging with a layer of yellowish-green rotting flesh, with maggots even wriggling on it.
The rotting-chin ghost student raised its withered arm and swung it heavily against its desk!
Clatter—!
Seven or eight thick books were swept onto the floor, the loud noise sounding particularly jarring in the deathly silent classroom.
The girls on the left trembled all over in fear.
After doing all this, the rotting-chin ghost student did not sit down but tilted its featureless head, staring straight at Teacher Qin Bing on the podium.
A blatant provocation!
Sitting below, Jiang Ning was so anxious her heart felt like it was about to jump out. She desperately signaled to Teacher Qin Bing, her lips moving silently: "Scold it! Hurry!"
She wanted to stand up but found her legs felt like they were filled with lead, pinned tightly to the chair by an invisible force. The classroom "rules" did not allow them, these "students," to move around.
Teacher Qin Bing, of course, understood Jiang Ning's lip movements.
She gripped the chalk in her hand tightly, the cold sensation allowing her to barely maintain a shred of reason.
She couldn't be a coward!
Having been a mentor at the university for so many years, what kind of troublemaker hadn't she seen? She had to summon the aura of a mentor and suppress it!
Teacher Qin Bing straightened her back, pressed her hands against the edge of the podium, and tried to make her voice sound without a trace of trembling.
"That student, pick up the books on the floor and sit properly."
Her voice wasn't loud, but it carried a sternness she hadn't even realized.
As soon as she finished speaking, all the ghost students on the right half swished their heads around in unison.
A dozen blank faces aimed squarely at the podium.
Cold malice surged in from all directions like tangible seawater, almost drowning Teacher Qin Bing.
The rotting-chin ghost student not only didn't pick up the books, but instead made a wheezing, "Heh heh" strange laughter from its throat.
The next second, it extended two black-green fingers and lightning-fast grabbed the hair of a girl in front!
That was a timid team member, currently trembling like a sieve from fear, tears swirling in her eyes, yet she couldn't even let out a cry for help.
"Ah..." The rotting-chin ghost student pulled hard, and the girl let out a suppressed whimper from the pain.
This sound was like a drop of water falling into a hot frying pan.
The rotting-chin ghost student seemed pleased by this cry, and it grabbed a plastic ruler from the desk with its other hand.
"Snap!" The ruler was easily snapped in two by it, revealing a sharp broken edge.
Its chin, hanging with rotting flesh, moved as it spat out garbled syllables: "Annoying... to death..."
Meanwhile, the [Teacher's Code of Conduct] paper on the podium began to ooze bright red blood droplets!
The red color spread rapidly, like a life-claiming blood-colored clock, silently declaring: if you don't punish now, it is dereliction of duty!
"Thump... thump..." Heavy footsteps came from outside the back door of the classroom, accompanied by a sickening wheezing sound, like a beast greedily drooling.
On the small pane of glass on the back door, several tall, swaying shadows were reflected.
The other ghost teachers... were outside waiting for dinner!
With evil ghosts provoking in front and a crowd of demons surrounding from behind. This was a complete dead end!
"Teacher Qin! Do something!" Jiang Ning couldn't hold back anymore and hissed in a low voice.
"Stop shouting! Do you want to get us killed!" the girl next to her cried, pulling her.
Teacher Qin Bing only hated that her strength was insufficient, that she hadn't had more relations with Fang Che to improve her strength more.
Below, the rotting-chin ghost student had lost its patience. It raised the half-broken ruler high, aiming at the unsuspecting back of the girl's head, preparing to stab down hard!
The girl was so scared she closed her eyes tightly, tears rolling down, without even the strength to dodge.
Teacher Qin Bing made up her mind. Death was certain either way; rather than being humiliated here, she might as well fight it out!
Her dignity as a mentor absolutely would not allow a student to be slaughtered like this in front of her!
Even if she died, she would take this disgusting thing with her!
Just as she was preparing to face the frantic siege of the entire class of ghost students.
Bang!!! A dull, extreme loud noise suddenly came from the corridor outside the window!
The entire classroom shook because of it.
On the glass window next to the podium, a slender and upright figure was clearly reflected.
