15: Chapter 15 System Backpack Cheat

"Yes!" "Received!"

The girls seemed to snap out of a dream; they hurriedly acknowledged the order and began packing up the tools and scattered supplies at hand.

But soon, a more realistic problem caused the order that had just been restored to collapse once again.

"Teacher Qin... this... there's so much stuff..."

A girl pointed to the mountain of supplies piled up in the yard, her voice trembling with a hint of tears.

"We can't possibly move all of this!"

Everyone froze, looking over in unison before collectively gasping in shock.

Thanks to the boost from Fang Che's monstrous talent, the fruits of their few hours of labor had far exceeded the definition of "abundant."

The small pile of wooden boards had now become a mountain of timber over three meters high.

The scattered ironware had transformed into a mountain of iron blocks, gleaming with a metallic luster.

Not to mention the massive pile of fiber and grass next to it, so fluffy it was nearly brushing the eaves.

These three small mountains—forget about moving them within the allotted time; even if they were given an entire day, they couldn't possibly move them all back to the Train.

The thought that the vast majority of these precious resources, earned with their own sweat, would be wasted here caused a crushing sense of reluctance and helplessness to grip everyone's hearts once more.

The jealousy and complex emotions that had just arisen due to Jiang Ning's surge in attributes were instantly replaced by an even deeper despair.

Just then, Lin Xinyi looked at Jiang Ning, who was following behind Fang Che with her head bowed, and suddenly blurted out:

"Some people have it so easy; just moving around a bit adds fifteen attribute points. We're working ourselves to the bone, only to find we can't even take the supplies with us. Truly, people have different fates."

These words were like a thorn, piercing into the heart of every girl present.

Jiang Ning's body stiffened and her fists clenched tight, but she remained silent.

Fang Che ignored the undercurrents of tension among the girls; he walked past them and went straight to the three small mountains.

Everyone's gaze involuntarily followed his back.

What was he trying to do?

Under everyone's puzzled gaze, Fang Che reached out and gently pressed his hand against the mountain of timber.

"Collect."

He calmly uttered the single word.

The next second, a scene that made everyone's eyes pop out occurred!

The three-meter-high mountain of timber seemed to have been swallowed in one gulp by an invisible giant beast, vanishing into thin air!

The ground, which had been piled high just a second ago, was now left with nothing but some wood chips and dust.

"..." "..." The entire yard was so quiet that one could hear a pin drop.

The sarcasm and bitterness on Lin Xinyi's face were still frozen at the corners of her mouth.

A girl rubbed her eyes in disbelief and then pinched her own thigh hard.

"Hiss! Ouch!" It wasn't a dream!

Fang Che ignored the petrified crowd behind him; he turned and walked toward the pile of iron blocks, his palm gently brushing over it once more.

Clatter. The mountain of iron blocks also vanished into thin air.

Then came the pile of fiber.

When the last massive pile also evaporated into thin air before their eyes, the entire yard instantly became empty, as if those supplies had never existed.

Fang Che clapped his hands and turned around to look at the group of girls behind him, who were completely stunned, their jaws nearly hitting the floor.

"Alright, let's head back."

After a deathly silence, a sky-high, uncontrollable, and fanatical cheer erupted!

"Oh my god! Fang Che... he..."

"Th-this, what kind of ability is this? Is he a god?!"

"Waaah... Thank goodness! Our hard work wasn't in vain!"

Jiang Ning stood among the crowd, watching the man surrounded by everyone's fanatical gazes, her emotions complex to the extreme.

The group marched back to the Train in high spirits. The carriage door closed.

The joy of having survived the ordeal, mixed with infinite hope for the future, brought the atmosphere in the carriage to an unprecedented peak.

However, Fang Che paid no mind to any of this. He walked straight to the control console at the front of the Train.

Under the puzzled gaze of everyone in the carriage, he unhesitatingly selected an option on the virtual screen.

"Upgrade Train."

The next second, a cold system notification echoed throughout the carriage.

[Sufficient resources detected. Would you like to consume 1000 Wood, 500 Iron Blocks, and 500 Fiber to upgrade the Train to LV2?]

"Yes!"

[Train level upgraded to LV2! Maximum Durability increased!]

[Feature unlocked: Train Storage Space (100 slots)!]

[Feature unlocked: Public Chat Channel!]

Boom! If the previous feat of storage had simply left the girls shocked and ecstatic...

...then the unlocking of these new features was like pouring a massive bucket of oil onto a raging fire!

"Train storage! We have storage now!"

"One hundred slots! We never have to worry about running out of room for supplies again!"

"This is amazing! Fang Che, you're the best!"

The cheers were loud enough to blow the roof off the carriage. But everyone's attention was soon drawn to the other new feature.

Public Chat Channel?

The class monitor, Su Qingxue, was the first to react. She adjusted her glasses, walked quickly to the console, and clicked the flashing icon.

She wanted to see what the situation was like for other survivors. To know yourself and your enemy is the only way to win every battle.

A massive holographic screen unfolded in the center of the carriage. However, what met their eyes was not the harmonious scene of survivors exchanging information they had imagined.

Instead, it was... a living hell.

The moment the screen lit up, countless messages filled with despair, gore, and madness flooded the feed like a waterfall!

"Help! Someone, save us! Our Train is surrounded by a bunch of tentacled monsters! The door is about to be smashed open!"

"Does anyone have water? Anyone! I'll trade my younger sister for a bottle of water! She's only sixteen, she's very pretty! I'm begging you!"

"The materials at the first stop aren't enough to upgrade the Train at all! We can't even craft an axe! The system says we'll be eliminated in thirty minutes! What does 'eliminated' mean? Are we going to die?"

"It's a scam! This is a damn scam! I saw with my own eyes the people in Carriage 3 get wiped out because they didn't have enough supplies! They just vanished, like they were rubbed out by an eraser!"

"Aaaah! Stay away! The monster is inside! Help..."

"They're dead... everyone's dead... I'm next..."

"I'm so hungry... I want my mommy..."

Blood-red, black, and various other colored fonts mingled together, composing a portrait of the apocalypse.

The deafening cheers in the carriage had long since died down without anyone noticing.

The dozens of girls stared at those words filled with pain and despair, the smiles on their faces slowly freezing before fading away entirely.

The immense joy and sense of security they had felt from returning fully loaded and upgrading their team were shattered in that instant by the cruel reality.

Only now did they truly, deeply realize.

The exhaustion they had complained about, the petty jealousy over who was closer to Fang Che—in the face of other survivors struggling on the brink of life and death, it was all so ridiculous, so... luxurious.

That they could stand here safe and sound, eating bread, drinking mineral water, and even enjoying the "rewards" that caused Jiang Ning's attributes to soar...

...was not because they were lucky. It was because, in their team, there was a man named Fang Che.

The immense contrast brought a massive shock, along with an unprecedented, indescribable sense of relief and lingering fear.
