116: Chapter 116 Ice Mist Seals the Gate

Not long after, Jiang Ning appeared at the entrance, followed by ten girls.

The atmosphere was a bit off.

Jiang Ning walked in the lead. Her combat suit was covered in dust and dark red bloodstains.

Her face showed the adrenaline rush of having just finished a battle, and her eyes were bright, almost staring blankly.

Lin Xinyi and two other newcomers followed behind, their faces pale and their hands trembling as they gripped their weapons.

No one could smile; only silence remained. They had just killed living, breathing people.

Jiang Ning walked forward and threw the olive-drab metal box onto the ground, emitting a dull thud.

"Fang Che, I got the box." Her voice was a bit hoarse.

Lin Xinyi's lips were white and trembling as she kept her head down, not daring to look at anyone.

The two newcomers beside her had red-rimmed eyes and were on the verge of tears.

Lin Xinyi bit her lip hard, her voice trembling.

"What are you crying for! Stand up straight!"

"Just now… if I hadn't pulled you, your head would have been split open! Do you hear me!"

"If you space out again next time, no one will be able to save you!"

She was actually trying to bolster her own courage, forcibly suppressing the memory of the man being cut down and splattering blood all over her face.

Teacher Qin Bing walked over quickly, grabbing Jiang Ning's arm and looking her up and down. "How are you? Are you hurt?"

Jiang Ning moved her shoulders. "I'm fine. Those weaklings couldn't even land a hit on me."

"It's just… I feel a bit weak after the fight. And… strangely excited."

This was the typical state for someone's first kill—a mix of excitement and lingering fear.

Fang Che looked at the group without saying anything extra, walking straight up to the supply box and placing his hand on it.

[Talent activated successfully]

[Target identified: Supply crate loot yield]

[Critical Hit multiplier: 55 times!]

[You have obtained: High-Explosive Crossbow Bolts x300, Standardized Ceramic Armor Inserts x150, Military-Grade Rapid Hemostatic Spray x20!]

A series of prompts popped up in his mind. Fang Che opened the box; it was filled with weapon accessories and medical kits.

There were three hundred high-explosive crossbow bolts, one hundred and fifty replacement ceramic armor plates, and twenty rapid hemostatic sprays.

The originally oppressive atmosphere dissipated quite a bit.

"Holy crap! So much stuff!"

"Are these high-explosive crossbow bolts? They're definitely stronger than standard ones!"

"We have armor plates! We can upgrade our stab-proof vests directly!"

Fang Che waited for them to see the items clearly before speaking.

"Jiang Ning, Lin Xinyi. You did well. Black Shark has already started making moves. You know what that means."

His eyes darkened. "From now on, get rid of those messy fantasies. This hasn't been a school for a long time; people can die at any moment."

"If you don't want to die, hold onto your weapons. If anyone tries to take advantage of us, kill them on the spot."

These few sentences completely stripped away the last remnants of their innocence.

Su Qingxue walked out, her gaze sweeping over everyone. All the girls stood up straight subconsciously.

"According to Fang Che's arrangements, the team will be reorganized. All those who have been enhanced and have combat experience will join Combat Group One. Jiang Ning will be the team leader, responsible for main assaults."

"All remaining newcomers will join Combat Group Two. Lin Xinyi will serve as the temporary team leader, responsible for perimeter support and defensive strongholds."

"Teacher Qin Bing, form a medical team. You take the medical supplies and provide aid as needed."

"Everyone else will join the Logistics and Security Group, under Mu Waner's command. Keep an eye on the situation outside, and constantly inventory supplies and organize intelligence."

"Do you all understand!"

"Understood!"

The voices were a bit chaotic, but much stronger than at the beginning. After fighting a skirmish, the entire team's structure quickly stabilized.

They started a core meeting again. Gu Nanzhi's communication came through, her voice a bit urgent.

"Brother Fang Che! I heard the Black Shark scouts talking. They've spread the word about how Sister Jiang Ning took out over a dozen people by herself. They even said she didn't lose a single hair."

"Now everyone over there is spreading rumors that you have the ability to create powerful people. They all want to come and capture you alive!"

Fang Che was not surprised at all. Teacher Qin Bing frowned. "This means they're targeting Jiang Ning as well."

Mu Waner pushed the tablet to the center. On the screen was a simple city map with a few red dots moving slowly.

"It's not just that. I've been watching the movements of the Black Shark patrol teams. They aren't just wandering around aimlessly."

She pointed to several circled locations on the screen. "The Clock Tower, the commercial district over there, and the power station."

"They are all circling around these key points but haven't entered any of them. It's very likely they have a map too, or they know where the supplies are."

Su Qingxue's face turned cold. "They want to clear the perimeter, force us to go out and scout the path, and then concentrate their forces to deal with us."

The situation was clear. Black Shark intended to sit back and watch the tigers fight. Fang Che tapped his fingers on the table.

"They want us to go out and step on landmines. They'll wait until we've finished off the others before coming to collect the bodies. Dream on."

Fang Che stood up straight. "Pass the order down. All combat groups are to rest in place; do not move. Forget about whatever flags or energy cores they're after."

He stared at the box full of high-explosive crossbow bolts. "We're only focusing on supplies and intelligence. Before the real fight starts, let's max out our gear."

Night fell. The ruins, which had been deathly silent during the day, began to stir. Deep within the damaged buildings in the distance, sounds of friction and roaring constantly echoed.

Things quieted down on Black Shark's side, but it wasn't completely peaceful. The girl in charge of keeping watch ran over in a hurry.

"Captain Fang! Black Shark's people are here! They're throwing things at us!"

Looking through night-vision binoculars, Black Shark's men were gathered a few hundred meters away, randomly throwing blood-stained rags and small gadgets that emitted piercing noises toward them.

The intention was clear: they wanted to use the smell of blood and the noise to lure monsters over and drain their ammunition.

"What a bunch of scumbags," Jiang Ning cursed under her breath. "Those bastards!"

Before long, roars rang out across the distance, approaching the direction of the bus station. Rows of twisted shadows emerged from all directions—at least a hundred of them.

The girls guarding the entrance gripped their weapons tightly with both hands.

Su Qingxue walked over and stopped in front of the pile of scrap metal blocking the door, her gaze sweeping toward the chaotic monsters outside.

"Everyone. All of you, fall back ten meters. Set up your crossbows and fire at will."

The girls obediently fell back. Su Qingxue raised her right hand, palm flat, aiming at the gap in the entrance. White mist began to billow out from her palm.

It quickly spread through the gaps in the scrap metal. The mist was grayish and completely blanketed the open ground for nearly a hundred meters outside the entrance.

The monsters charging over were instantly enveloped within it, with only their struggling, chaotic silhouettes visible.

The mist was filled with tiny ice shards, and the surrounding temperature dropped frighteningly. A layer of white frost formed directly on the pile of scrap metal at the door.

The monster running in the lead crashed into the mist. Its limb movements visibly seized up, and its skin was covered in a layer of rock-hard ice shards.

It didn't even make it two steps before the ice layer on its body froze solid, and it collapsed to the ground with a thud.

Su Qingxue stood still in place. The ice mist continued to billow from her, completely sealing off this only passage in and out.
