12: Chapter 12 What are you doing?

Hearing the shout, Fang Che stepped into the two-story residential house.

The light inside the house was somewhat dim, and the air was filled with the smell of dust and the distinct scent of rotting wood.

Jiang Ning was standing right in the middle of the living room, her feet planted on a section of floorboards that were still relatively intact.

"Come over here and listen, this place is very strange."

Seeing him enter, Jiang Ning raised her hand and pointed at her feet.

"Just now when I walked over, I felt like the sound in this area wasn't quite right."

As she spoke, she gently tapped the floor with her heel.

"Thud, thud."

The dull, hollow echo was exceptionally clear in the quiet room, forming a stark contrast with the areas nearby that felt solid when stepped on.

"Is it empty underneath?"

"Could the developer have cut corners?"

"Could it be a basement hiding something?"

The few girls who had entered with Fang Che also noticed the anomaly, curiously gathering around and whispering their guesses.

Jiang Ning ignored their discussion and stepped back twice, leaving enough space for herself to exert force.

She adjusted her breathing, raised the iron pickaxe in her hands high above her head, and the sturdy muscle lines on her arms outlined a smooth contour in the dim light.

"Whatever it is, we'll know once we smash it open."

As her voice fell, the pickaxe whistled through the air and smashed heavily onto the floorboard that had made the hollow sound.

"Crack."

The rotting wood shattered upon impact, revealing a pitch-black hole.

Jiang Ning didn't stop; with a few more swings, she widened the hole, revealing a wooden box about half a meter square embedded in the dirt before everyone's eyes.

"A treasure chest!" Lin Xinyi was the first to cry out, her eyes lighting up.

In the doomsday game, what a treasure chest meant went without saying.

Everyone's gaze instantly "whooshed" and converged on Fang Che.

"Fang Che, you open it, you open it!"

"Right, right, you have good luck, you do it!"

This had already become a consensus among everyone.

In this team, anything related to "luck" and "gains" was best left to Fang Che; it was the optimal solution.

Fang Che didn't decline.

He walked to the edge of the hole and crouched down.

The box was very ordinary, just an old wooden chest without even a lock, only secured by a latch.

He reached out, his fingers touching the rough, cold wooden lid.

Just as he was about to exert force to pry it open.

His world was submerged in an extreme golden light.

[— — Critical Hit triggered — —]

[Critical Hit Multiplier: × 100]

One hundred times!

Fang Che's heart skipped a beat.

[Treasure chest opening detected, calculating gains...]

[Item obtained: Fine Katana × 100!]

[Item has been automatically stored in the backpack!]

A series of system prompts flashed by, and the wooden chest before him instantly turned into specks of light, dissipating into the air, leaving only an empty dirt pit.

"Wow! Fang Che, what did you get?" Lin Xinyi was the first to react, asking excitedly.

Fang Che stood up, looked at everyone's expectant gazes, and said with a smile: "My luck was good, one hundred Fine Katanas."

"One hundred!"

"That's great! Now our melee combat capability has greatly improved!"

Cheers instantly filled the entire house, everyone was ecstatic because of this huge gain, and their eyes looking at Fang Che were full of joy and admiration.

With this discovery, everyone's enthusiasm soared even higher, and they practically carpet-searched the entire street.

It wasn't until the Train broadcast signaled that there was one hour remaining that Teacher Qin Bing ordered them to withdraw.

Everyone returned to the last residential house they had dismantled to take a short rest, preparing to return to the Train.

Fang Che took out boxes of mineral water and bread from his system inventory and distributed them to everyone.

The girls no longer cared about their image; they sat on the floor, tore open the packaging, and devoured the food, completely devoid of their usual delicate demeanor.

Several hours of high-intensity physical labor had pushed their bodies to the limit; they were exhausted and hungry.

The atmosphere in the room became relaxed due to the extreme abundance of supplies.

Jiang Ning did not stay with the crowd.

She leaned against the wall in the corner of another room by herself, unscrewed a bottle of water, and gulped it down.

Sweat slowly slid down her healthy, wheat-colored skin, from her firm and graceful neck lines, across her chest that was heaving from heavy panting, and then silently submerged into her flat and toned abdomen.

The high-intensity exercise made her body radiate astonishing heat, her chest heaving with rapid breathing, and she looked like a leopard that had just returned from hunting, full of primitive and wild beauty.

Fang Che's gaze landed on her.

A series of stimuli had left his body and mind in a state of extreme excitement.

Fang Che put down the water bottle in his hand, stood up, and walked straight towards Jiang Ning; he felt he couldn't hold back anymore.

Jiang Ning noticed his approach, frowned, and looked up, her eyes filled with a hint of disgust and impatience.

"What are you doing?"

Fang Che stood still in front of her, looking down at her.

His gaze was extremely aggressive, as if he were examining his prey.

"Doing you."

Jiang Ning was stunned upon hearing the answer.

"Wait, wait, wait—"

She panicked, bracing both hands in front of her with palms facing outward, making a gesture of resistance: "Calm down, Fang Che, you motherfucker, calm down..."

Fang Che didn't stop.

He crouched down, one hand gripping Jiang Ning's left ankle, and the other hand grabbing her right ankle.

Jiang Ning's legs were long, with smooth and powerful muscle lines, her ankles slender yet well-defined.

Fang Che exerted force suddenly.

"Ah!" Jiang Ning was startled.

Fang Che lifted Jiang Ning up.

Jiang Ning had excellent flexibility, the foundation of long-term athletic training was there.

Although this high-difficulty posture caused all the muscles in her body to tense up instantly, it had not yet reached her limit.

But this posture also left her entire lower body completely exposed, without any cover, right before Fang Che's eyes.

The skin on her inner thighs was several shades whiter than the parts frequently exposed to the outside, smooth and delicate, even somewhat dazzling in the dim light.

The shadows in the corner completely enveloped the two of them.

Jiang Ning leaned back against the cold, mottled wall, her cheeks burning hot.

The pink petals were slightly closed, with a trace of crystal-clear dew on the edges.

The question filled with shame and anger hadn't even fully escaped her lips before it was completely blocked by Fang Che's oppressive proximity.

The half-drawn, dilapidated curtains swayed gently in the breeze, the shadows on the ground gradually overlapping and merging, forming an inseparable whole.

That line of defense, symbolizing stubbornness and guard, finally quietly dissolved into silence and heavy breathing.
