60: Chapter 60: The Landscape Opens Up! I Reject Kingsoft, I Only Want a Bunch of Failed Data!

The moment Su Che finished speaking, the dining room became so quiet you could hear a pin drop.

Lieutenant General Peng had just lifted his teacup, ready to moisten his throat, but his hand froze in mid-air.

Number Two, who was holding a pair of chopsticks with some vegetables, also stopped, his eyes filled with astonishment.

At the head of the table, Number One's gentle face also displayed, for the first time, a clear expression mixed with surprise and confusion.

Across the entire Dragon Kingdom, countless people would break their necks just to seek a future or secure wealth in front of them.

Yet this young man before them, holding technology capable of changing the world's landscape, only wanted a pile of... waste paper?

That was no ordinary failed data. It was the desperate record of the "Dragon Vein" base over the past fifteen years, which had consumed countless human and material resources and sacrificed the life's work of two generations of top-tier scientists, only to prove that "this path leads nowhere."

It was a "data graveyard" in every sense of the word.

"Comrade Little Su," Number One finally broke the silence. He set down his chopsticks, leaned forward slightly, and looked at Su Che with a sharp gaze.

"Can you tell us why?"

Su Che remained standing straight, his expression unchanged.

"Reporting to you, Chief." "Any successful experiment might be full of coincidences, and its experience is difficult to replicate perfectly." "But failure is different."

"Every failure inevitably points to an objectively existing systematic error. By eliminating all failed paths, the one that remains, no matter how incredible it may seem, must be the only path to the truth."

"I don't want data." "What I want are the ten thousand warning signs of 'this path leads nowhere' that all our predecessors marked for us with their blood and sweat over those fifteen years."

His words landed with a resounding thud. There were no impassioned speeches, no flowery language. There was only the cold, pure logic belonging to a straight-laced STEM guy.

"Good!" Number One slammed the table and stood up!

The look in his eyes as he gazed at Su Che was no longer just appreciation, but a heartfelt admiration and resonance from having found a kindred spirit!

"Well said!" "Eliminate all the wrong answers, and what remains is the truth!"

Number Two also set down his chopsticks, shaking his head with a smile, filled with emotion.

"Those of us in economics and strategy, running simulations on sand tables every day, aren't we doing the same thing?" "This kid is a natural leader!"

Lieutenant General Peng finally snapped back to reality. He looked at Su Che, feeling like he was looking at a monster. This train of thought was completely on a different frequency from a normal person!

"Lieutenant General Peng!" Number One looked at him, his tone unquestionable. "Yes!" Lieutenant General Peng straightened his back instantly.

"All authority for the 'Dragon Vein' base is to be fully opened to Comrade Su Che!" "He can unconditionally mobilize all data, all equipment, and all personnel!"

"I don't care what method you use; within two hours, I want to see all fifteen years of 'Dragon Vein' data delivered into Comrade Su Che's hands!"

"Additionally," Number One paused, his gaze returning to Su Che. "Effective immediately, we are establishing a special task force for the Nantianmen Project, and Comrade Su Che will serve as the team leader!"

"This team will not be under the control of any unit; it will report only to me!"

Su Che was shocked. Team leader? Reporting only to Number One? This power was a bit too great.

"Reporting to you, Chief, I..." "This is an order." Number One waved his hand, his tone gentle yet firm. "You are not fighting alone; behind you stands the entire nation."

With that, the meal concluded. Seeing the atmosphere soften, Su Che suddenly remembered something.

"Um... both Chiefs, General Peng..." He scratched his head, feeling a bit embarrassed. "I have one more... small request."

The gazes of the three bigwigs instantly converged on him again. Lieutenant General Peng's heart skipped a beat. This kid isn't going to stir up more trouble, is he?

"Speak." Number One looked at him with great interest.

"I... can I apply for a laboratory? It would be best if it were well-equipped with materials and precision machining equipment."

Su Che pulled that portable smart milk tea maker he had just cobbled together that morning, which looked remarkably like a thermos, out of his pocket.

"I made a... um... portable beverage temperature-regulating device for my girlfriend, but the tools in the Expert Apartment are too rudimentary, and the material performance is average. Many details weren't handled well, so I want to optimize it further."

"..." "..." "..." Lieutenant General Peng felt his blood pressure starting to spike again.

You little brat, you just took on the number one project, the Nantianmen Project, and in the next breath, you're thinking about optimizing a milk tea maker for your girlfriend? The mood shift is too fast!

"Pfft..." Number Two was the first who couldn't hold it in; he nearly spat out a mouthful of tea, turned his head, and his shoulders shook uncontrollably.

Number One was also stunned, then let out a hearty laugh. "Hahahaha!" "Good! Good lad!" "Affectionate, loyal, and responsible!"

He pointed at Su Che and said to Lieutenant General Peng with a smile, "Did you hear that? Our Nantianmen Project task force leader wants to make a 'temperature-regulating device' for his loved one. Your Military Science Commission must provide full support!"

"Not only must you provide a laboratory, but also the best team! Give him money if he needs money, give him people if he needs people!"

Lieutenant General Peng's old face flushed red, and he could only stand at attention and salute. "Yes! Guarantee the completion of the mission!"

On the way back to the Military Science Commission. Lieutenant General Peng sat next to Su Che, silent, only occasionally glancing at him with the look one might give an alien.

Su Che felt uncomfortable under his gaze. "Lieutenant General Peng, you... if you have something to say, just say it."

"Kid." Lieutenant General Peng finally spoke, his tone complex. "In my life, I haven't admired many people, but you count as one." "You are the first person to dare to make such a request in front of Number One."

Su Che chuckled. "Basic operation, just a basic operation."

Back at the Expert Apartment. As soon as he entered, Su Che was stunned.

In the living room stood a dozen or so military technicians wearing white cleanroom suits. They were carefully stacking sealed, military-green special hard drive cases neatly against the wall. The cases had already piled up to cover half the wall.

A bespectacled technical Senior Colonel walked forward with a list and saluted Lieutenant General Peng.

"Reporting to you, Chief! All original experimental data from the 'Dragon Vein' base over the past fifteen years in the field of 'power system applications,' totaling seven large databases with a total capacity of 17.8 PB, has been delivered!"

17.8 PB? Even though Su Che was mentally prepared, he was startled by the number. This isn't just data. It's practically a graveyard built out of 0s and 1s!

Lieutenant General Peng patted Su Che on the shoulder, his expression grave. "Kid, this is what you wanted." "This 'graveyard' buried the hopes of two generations of us; now, it is handed over to you."

Su Che looked solemn and nodded gravely. Without a moment's hesitation, he walked to the nearest hard drive case, opened it, and took out a heavy military-grade solid-state drive.

He walked to the military supercomputing terminal in the living room and, with a "click," inserted the hard drive into the expansion dock.

On the screen, a deep blue stream of data poured down like a waterfall! Countless records of failure, countless erroneous parameters, countless models verified as dead ends... The despair of fifteen years rushed toward him in that moment.

However, there was not a trace of gravity on Su Che's face. Instead, his eyes were brilliantly bright, filled with the excitement of a hunter seeing his prey. This time, he had struck gold!
