80: Chapter 80: Even dragons have their Achilles' heel; codename "Dragon Shadow"!

Su Che's smile vanished.

He slipped his phone back into his pocket, moving slowly, as if he were putting away a dangerous object.

The dusk outside the balcony, originally a warm, orange-red glow, now took on a tinge of blood in his eyes.

"What's wrong?"

Lin Waner came out of the kitchen carrying the last dish, sensing that the atmosphere was off.

Su Che turned around, a relaxed smile already back on his face.

"It's nothing, my unit is pressuring me to hand in an ideological report, it's a headache."

He walked over, took the plate from Lin Waner's hands, and playfully tapped her on the nose.

"Let's eat, I'm starving."

Lin Waner gave him a suspicious look, but didn't ask any more questions.

At the dining table, Su Che ate quickly, as if he were trying to make up for fifteen hours of hunger.

Lin Waner quietly served him food, occasionally sharing interesting anecdotes from her audit classes at Jinghua University today.

"...The old professor explained it so well; he said quantum mechanics isn't metaphysics, it's a new worldview, just like..."

"Waner."

Su Che suddenly interrupted her.

"Hmm?"

"After you finish eating, why don't you go back to the school dormitory and stay for a few days, okay?"

Lin Waner's chopsticks paused in mid-air.

She looked at Su Che, and in those clear eyes, there was no confusion, only understanding.

"Is there... danger again?"

Su Che didn't speak, just silently placed the largest rib into her bowl.

He wasn't worried about the security at the Expert Apartment; he was worried about the road Lin Waner traveled back and forth.

But he couldn't bring himself to tell Lin Waner not to audit classes at Jinghua University because of him.

Lin Waner lowered her head, poking at the rice in her bowl, and remained silent for a long time.

"Okay."

She looked up, her eyes a little red, but she smiled.

"You need to protect yourself too."

"I'll wait for you to come back."

...

After the meal, Su Che insisted on seeing Lin Waner down to the entrance of the Expert Apartment building.

A black sedan with military license plates had already been waiting there silently.

"Teacher Lin, we have orders to take you back to school."

Two young men in plain clothes, yet with upright postures and sharp gazes, stepped out of the car.

Lin Waner turned back and gave Su Che a deep look.

"I'm leaving."

"Yeah."

Watching the car merge into the traffic and disappear into the night, the last trace of gentleness on Su Che's face faded away with it.

He turned and looked at another SUV parked in the shadows.

The car door opened, and Lieutenant General Peng's angular face looked like granite under the dim streetlights.

"Get in."

Su Che sat in the back seat.

Inside the car, the atmosphere was oppressive.

Lieutenant General Peng didn't waste words, throwing a military tablet over directly.

On the screen was the detailed dossier of "Amaterasu."

Codename: Amaterasu

Affiliation: Sakura Country Cabinet Intelligence and Research Office, Seventh Special Operations Group.

Nature: Asymmetric warfare and targeted elimination unit.

Historical record: Successfully assassinated a nuclear physicist in a Middle Eastern country, planned and executed a coup in an African country...

One incident after another, a legacy of blood debts.

"This is the maddest dog Sakura Country keeps in the shadows."

Lieutenant General Peng's voice was cold and murderous.

"Onikiri was just a stone they threw out to test the waters. Now that the stone has sunk, they've revealed their true killing blow."

"That abandoned chemical plant was a signal they intentionally left for us."

"It's a provocation, and a declaration of war."

Su Che scrolled through the screen, his gaze landing on the final attachment.

It was the list of core members of "Amaterasu."

A total of twelve people, and next to each person's photo was a blood-red annotation.

—— [Descendants of Class-A War Criminals].

Su Che's breath hitched slightly.

So, it was this scum!

"They have already entered the country, breaking up into small units and hiding among the tens of millions of people in the capital, like water droplets merging into the ocean."

Lieutenant General Peng watched the night scenery rushing backwards outside the window.

"It's difficult to root them all out using conventional means without causing panic."

Su Che closed the tablet, leaned back in his seat, and closed his eyes.

"Therefore, we need to use unconventional means."

Lieutenant General Peng turned his head to look at him, his eyes sharp.

"Correct."

"The dragon has a reverse scale; touch it, and you die."

"We also have a unit that never appears in newspapers and will never appear in any public documents."

"Its codename..."

Lieutenant General Peng slowly spat out two words.

"Dragon Shadow."

The car finally stopped deep in the Western Hills, at the entrance of a military base with no markings.

This place was even more concealed than the entrance to the "Dragon Vein."

Lieutenant General Peng took Su Che into a brightly lit underground operations command room.

On the massive electronic sand table was a real-time 3D map of the entire capital.

A dozen soldiers in black tactical gear, with camouflage paint on their faces and exuding a murderous aura, were already lined up waiting.

When they saw Lieutenant General Peng, they saluted in unison.

At their head was a man with the rank of Colonel on his shoulders and a hideous scar on his face.

"Report, General! Dragon Shadow Assault Team, all present and accounted for, awaiting instructions!"

The voice was like metal grinding, cold and lethal.

Lieutenant General Peng nodded, turned to the side, and introduced Su Che to them.

"This is Su Che."

"From now on, his safety is the highest priority mission for Dragon Shadow."

"At the same time, in this 'cleanup' operation, he holds command authority second only to mine."

The scarred Colonel looked at Su Che, his eyes devoid of any emotion, and simply saluted again.

"Yes, General!"

Su Che looked at this true blade of the nation, and the repressed fire in his heart finally found a vent.

He walked to the electronic sand table, looking at the dense clusters of light points on it.

"General, conventional screening won't find them."

"But if they want to kill me, they will definitely take the initiative to approach me."

"They think I'm the prey."

Su Che looked up at Lieutenant General Peng, his lips pursed.

"Then I will act as bait for once."

"I want them to know that on the land of the Dragon Country, the roles of hunter and prey can be swapped at any time."

Lieutenant General Peng's eyes were full of approval.

This kid not only knew how to forge a "shield," but also understood how to wield the "spear" well.

He walked to Su Che's side and asked in a deep voice.

"What do you need?"

Su Che's gaze returned to that massive electronic map.

His brain was running at high speed.

"Amaterasu" was very professional; they wouldn't use conventional electronic devices, making tracking extremely difficult.

But, as long as they were human, they would have oversights.

As long as they were still in this three-dimensional world, there must be a way to dig them out.

A crazy plan began to take shape in Su Che's mind.

He needed an "eye."

An "All-Seeing Eye" that could penetrate all physical obstacles, ignore any disguise, and lock directly onto the "person" themselves.

He looked up at Lieutenant General Peng, his eyes frighteningly bright.

"I need the complete structural blueprints for every street and building in the capital."

"I need the real-time data flow of all underground pipe networks, power, and communication lines in the municipal system."

"And..."

Su Che paused, stating the most critical link.

"I need the 'All-Seeing Eye' phased array radar to perform a... particle-level deep scan of the area I am in."

Lieutenant General Peng narrowed his eyes. A particle-level scan? What did that mean?

It meant that the trajectory of every single speck of dust in the entire area would be captured!

This was to turn the entire space into a transparent glass box!

"What are you going to do?"

Su Che didn't answer directly.

He just walked to a tactical terminal on the side, his fingers typing rapidly on the keyboard.

Lines of code were generated under his hands.

A brand new city-level scanning algorithm based on the underlying logic of the "Mirror World" was being written by him on the spot.

"Don't they like hiding in the shadows?"

Su Che's voice was very soft, yet it made the temperature of the entire command room drop by several degrees.

"Then I will drag out the 'shadows' of the entire city."

He hit the final Enter key.

Looking at Lieutenant General Peng, he said slowly.

"General, now, I need you to give me an authorization."

"An... authorization of the highest level that will allow me to turn the entire capital into my 'laboratory'!"
