117: Chapter 117 The Great Perfection of the Sacred Body in the Desolate Ancient Forbidden Zone
"Ah—!!!"
Screams rang out everywhere, and the crowd instantly fell into chaos. Tourists fled in all directions; some tripped, some cried out, and some fainted from sheer terror.
Ye Fan was also stunned.
He looked up at the nine Dragon carcasses falling from the sky and the massive Bronze Coffin, completely dazed.
"This... what is this?!"
Beside him, Pang Bo was equally dumbfounded.
"Holy crap... Nine Dragons Pulling the Coffin?! Isn't this a plot from a novel?!"
Before his voice could fade, the nine Dragon carcasses and the Bronze Coffin crashed onto the summit of Mount Tai!
"Rumble—!!!"
A massive shockwave swept across, shattering rocks and sending dust flying. All of Mount Tai trembled violently, as if it might collapse at any moment.
Countless tourists were knocked to the ground by the shockwave, letting out continuous cries of pain.
Ye Fan was also knocked down by the shockwave. He struggled to climb back up and looked toward the dust-filled area.
The dust gradually dissipated.
Nine massive Dragon carcasses lay scattered across the summit. Their bodies were broken; some were reduced to skeletons, while others still had remnants of flesh and blood.
And that Bronze Coffin rested right in the center of the Dragon carcasses.
The coffin lid had already opened a crack.
Above the summit, Chu Tianjiao and Xiao Nannan floated quietly in the Void Realm, looking down at everything.
"It has begun," Chu Tianjiao said softly.
Xiao Nannan didn't speak, but she stared intently at the figure in the crowd.
Ye Fan had already stood up. He looked at the Bronze Coffin and the panicked tourists, a trace of hesitation flashing in his eyes.
Then he stepped forward and walked toward the Bronze Coffin.
"Ye Fan! What are you doing?!"
Pang Bo shouted from behind.
Ye Fan did not look back.
He simply walked toward the Bronze Coffin, toward an unknown fate.
Xiao Nannan looked at him, her eyes turning red again.
"Brother..."
she murmured, her voice so soft it was almost inaudible.
The crack in the Bronze Coffin grew wider and wider.
Ye Fan walked to the front of the coffin and peered inside. It was pitch black, and he couldn't see anything.
Just then—
A massive suction force erupted from the coffin!
Ye Fan's body was instantly sucked inside!
"Ye Fan!"
Pang Bo shouted and rushed over as well. Then, he too was sucked inside.
Immediately after, several other classmates who were nearby were also sucked into the Bronze Coffin one by one.
"Ah—!!!"
Screams rose and fell, but nothing could be changed.
Moments later, the coffin lid shut with a loud "boom."
Then, the nine Dragon carcasses and the Bronze Coffin soared into the sky once more, tearing through the Void Realm and vanishing into the heavens.
Atop the summit of Mount Tai, only the terrified crowd and a mess on the ground remained.
In the Void Realm, Chu Tianjiao and Xiao Nannan watched all of this quietly.
"Let's go," Chu Tianjiao said softly. "Let's follow and see."
Xiao Nannan nodded.
The two turned into two streaks of light and disappeared into the Void Realm.
The Bronze Coffin shuttled through the Void Realm.
Xiao Nannan's Divine Thought remained tightly locked onto it, watching it teleport from altar to altar.
The first stop: Mars.
The Bronze Coffin crashed onto the surface of Mars, and the lid opened again. Ye Fan and the others stepped out of the coffin, seeing a desolate red land, a massive Buddha Statue, and ruins carved with the words "Yinghuo."
Xiao Nannan and Chu Tianjiao stood above Mars, watching it all.
"Brother is afraid," Xiao Nannan said softly.
She could feel Ye Fan's emotions—fear, confusion, and helplessness.
"It's normal," Chu Tianjiao said. "It would be strange if a Mortal didn't feel afraid after suddenly encountering something like this."
Xiao Nannan fell silent.
She watched Ye Fan cautiously explore Mars, seeing him discover the carvings, encounter the Crocodile Ancestor, and desperately flee back to the Bronze Coffin.
Several times she wanted to intervene and protect him.
But she held back.
This was his path.
She could not interfere.
The Bronze Coffin continued its teleportation.
One Ancient Star after another, one altar after another.
Ye Fan and the others were tossed about inside the coffin, suffering in fear and struggling in the unknown.
Xiao Nannan and Chu Tianjiao followed along the way, witnessing everything they experienced.
Finally, the Bronze Coffin's final teleportation ended.
It crashed onto a vast land.
That was the Emperor Burial Star.
Big Dipper Astral Region.
Southern Region.
Ancient Desolate Forbidden Zone.
At the edge of the Ancient Desolate Forbidden Zone, the Bronze Coffin lay quietly on the ground.
Ye Fan and the others stepped out of the coffin, looking around in confusion. They didn't know where they were or what awaited them. They could only travel together, heading deeper into this strange world.
In the Void Realm, Chu Tianjiao and Xiao Nannan slowly descended.
The moment their feet touched the ground, Chu Tianjiao was stunned.
"What is it, Teacher?" Xiao Nannan asked.
Chu Tianjiao didn't answer immediately. His gaze swept over the surroundings, and his Divine Thought spread out, instantly covering the entire Ancient Desolate Forbidden Zone.
Then he saw it.
This forbidden zone was exactly as he remembered from the novels in his past life.
Desolate land, pervasive mist, dilapidated ancient buildings, and that faint, eerie aura.
In the original work, the Ancient Desolate Forbidden Zone was a forbidden zone that the Ruthless Great Emperor later occupied. It was Xiao Nannan who, to wait for her brother's return, saved a Great Completion Holy Body and then waited for her brother in his forbidden zone.
And that forbidden zone was also called the Ancient Desolate Forbidden Zone because its earliest inhabitant was a Great Completion Ancient Desolate Holy Body.
But in this life...
Chu Tianjiao looked at Xiao Nannan.
"Teacher?" Xiao Nannan called out again when she saw him not speaking.
Chu Tianjiao came back to his senses.
"It's nothing." He shook his head. "I'm just a bit surprised."
He raised his hand and pointed toward the depths of the forbidden zone.
"There, lies the master of this forbidden zone."
Xiao Nannan looked in the direction he pointed. Her Divine Thought was equally powerful, and she instantly perceived that aura.
It was an aura of deathly silence.
Powerful, yet long devoid of life.
"Dead?" she asked in surprise.
Chu Tianjiao nodded.
"Dead. But the obsession remains."
He paused for a moment and stepped forward.
"Let's go see."
The two passed through the mist and arrived in the depths of the forbidden zone.
There, a simple stone hut stood quietly. In front of the stone hut, a figure sat cross-legged.
It was an old man, white-haired and withered-faced. He sat with his eyes closed, motionless, without a trace of life in him.
But as Chu Tianjiao and Xiao Nannan approached, the old man's eyes slowly opened.
They were a pair of cloudy eyes, lacking focus and spirit. Yet, when those eyes looked at them, they carried an instinctive alertness and hostility.
"Who are you?"
The old man's voice was hoarse, as if he hadn't spoken for a long time.
Chu Tianjiao looked at him and said nothing.
He was sizing up the old man.
Golden blood energy—though it had withered, the aura was still there. It was the aura of a Holy Body, pure and powerful. There were also the Dao injuries on him, those scars deep within his marrow, telling of his past glory and tragedy.
Great Completion Holy Body.
A being who had long since died, guarding this forbidden zone through sheer obsession.
Chu Tianjiao watched for a while, a trace of complexity flashing in his eyes.
To turn into an obsession after death, yet still guard this world and protect those who come after.
Such a person deserved his respect.
He raised his hand, and a drop of emerald-green liquid condensed at his fingertip. It was immortal liquid, something he had brought back from the Immortal Realm, containing endless vitality and Dao laws.
With a light flick, the drop of immortal liquid flew toward the old man and merged into his brow.
The old man's body shook violently.
His withered face began to recover at a pace visible to the naked eye. His shriveled skin became full again, his white hair gradually turned black, and those Dao injuries deep in his marrow healed inch by inch.
His eyes grew brighter and brighter.
