167: Chapter 167 The Birth of a Descendant of the Void Emperor

Undying Mountain.

When seeing the Ancient Kirin Emperor send his two children back.

Chu Tianjiao looked toward the void mirror to one side and said, "Your master's child can also emerge."

Upon hearing Chu Tianjiao's words, the void mirror was incomparably excited, immediately escaping into the Void Realm and disappearing.

After the void mirror disappeared, the Undying Mountain returned to tranquility.

Chu Tianjiao remained seated under the ancient tea tree of enlightenment, holding that cup of tea which had already grown slightly cool. He did not drink, just quietly gazing in the direction where the void mirror had disappeared, a faint trace of anticipation in his eyes.

Xiao Nannan leaned on his shoulder and asked softly, "Teacher, what kind of person is... Ji Zi?"

Chu Tianjiao thought for a moment, then shook his head. "I have never met him either. But he is the child of the Void Emperor. The Void Emperor fought bloody battles against the Life Forbidden Zone throughout his life, draining his very last drop of blood for the Human Race. His child will not be inferior."

Xiao Nannan nodded, not asking further.

Willow Deity sat cross-legged to one side, her gaze falling upon the distant horizon, her expression calm. The starry sky of the Big Dipper Astral Region was reflected in her eyes, as if she were watching something, yet also as if she were watching nothing at all.

The Ancient Kirin Emperor had already returned to the Undying Mountain, sitting by the stone table, holding a teacup and sipping slowly. His two children were already settled; with the kirin staff guarding them, he had no worries.

"The Void Emperor's child..." He set down the teacup and said softly, "Back then, the Void Emperor had a child in his later years and sealed him within a divine source, entrusting him to the human emperor banner and the Ji Family. This sleep has lasted for eight hundred thousand years. Now, it is time for him to wake up."

Chu Tianjiao nodded, not speaking.

The night breeze brushed past, the branches and leaves of the ancient tea tree of enlightenment swayed gently, scattering bits of Dao rhyme. The human emperor banner drifted lightly above the Undying Mountain, golden rain of light falling silently, shrouding the entire courtyard in a warm radiance.

They were waiting.

Waiting for the void mirror to return.

The void mirror passed through layers of the Void Realm, crossed over mountains and rivers, and soon returned to the Ji Family.

Deep within the ancestral grounds of the Ji Family, an ancient stone chamber stood quietly.

The stone chamber was guarded by layers of Formation, which were Restrictions laid down by the successive ancestors of the Ji Family; even a powerhouse of the Saint Realm would find it difficult to break in. But the void mirror was different—it was the Ji Family's imperial weapon of the extreme dao, the supreme treasure left by the Void Emperor for his descendants. To it, these Formations were as nothing.

With a flash of silver light, the void mirror appeared inside the stone chamber.

In the center of the stone chamber, a massive divine source stood quietly. The divine source was crystalline throughout, emitting a faint fluorescent glow, and a figure could vaguely be seen inside.

It was a youth, looking no more than fifteen or sixteen, with refined features, and the shadow of the Void Emperor could vaguely be seen between his brows.

He wore ancient attire, his hands crossed over his chest, eyes closed, breathing evenly, as if he were just asleep.

He had slept like this for eight hundred thousand years.

From the moment the Void Emperor sealed him in his later years, time had stopped for him.

The outside world changed with wind and clouds, emperors were replaced, forbidden zones rose and fell, and the Dark Turmoil erupted time and again, only to be suppressed time and again—none of this had anything to do with him. He just kept sleeping, waiting for the day he was meant to wake up.

The void mirror hovered before the divine source, the silver light on its surface flowing like water.

It looked at the sleeping youth inside the divine source, its surface trembling gently, as if looking at its own child.

This was its master's child, the only Bloodline left in this world by the Void Emperor. It had promised its master that it would take good care of him, protect his safety, and wait for the day he was meant to emerge.

Now, the time had come.

The void mirror gave a gentle jolt, and a beam of silver light shot out from its surface, enveloping the entire divine source. The Seal patterns on the surface of the divine source lit up one after another, then slowly dissipated within the silver light. The divine source began to glow, becoming brighter and brighter, more and more intense, and cracks spread out like spiderwebs, covering the entire surface.

Crack—

The first crack appeared. Immediately after, more cracks burst open one after another, fragments of the divine source flying in all directions, turning into crystalline specks of light filling the sky. The youth's figure slowly drifted down from the fragments, his body stretching out in the silver light, long hair hanging down, robes fluttering.

Ji Zi.

The Void Emperor's child.

He had woken up.

Ji Zi's eyelashes trembled gently, then he slowly opened his eyes. They were a pair of clear and deep eyes, carrying the confusion of just waking up, carrying curiosity about this strange world. He blinked, looking at the unfamiliar stone chamber above, looking at that unfamiliar ceiling, his eyes full of confusion.

Then, he saw the ancient mirror before him.

The void mirror hovered before him, the silver light on its surface flickering gently, as if looking at him, confirming whether he was well.

Ji Zi looked at that mirror, stunned for a moment. Then, he reached out his hand and touched the mirror's surface gently. The mirror surface was cold and smooth, yet it carried a power that made him inexplicably feel at ease.

"Who are you..." His voice was somewhat hoarse, the dryness that comes after sleeping for too long.

The void mirror trembled slightly, the silver light on its surface flickering a few times, as if responding. Then, it slowly floated up, circled around Ji Zi once, and finally stopped before him, its surface facing outward, as if signaling him to follow it.

Ji Zi looked at it, was silent for a moment, then nodded. He did not know where this mirror was taking him, but he could feel that this mirror held no malice.

On the contrary, it made him feel a kind of inexplicable intimacy, just like... just like a long, long time ago, someone had once looked at him with the same gaze.

The void mirror took Ji Zi and turned into a streak of silver light, disappearing from the stone chamber.

Undying Mountain.

The void mirror emerged from the Void Realm, and amidst the flickering silver light, a youth's figure appeared in the courtyard.

Ji Zi stood in the courtyard of the Undying Mountain, looking around at everything in a daze.

He saw the curling Chaos Qi, saw the towering mountain peaks in the distance, saw that ancient tea tree of enlightenment in the corner of the courtyard that was crystalline throughout and scattering bits of Dao rhyme.

He saw the golden banner above his head, saw that ancient long saber leaning against the wall, saw that swaying flat peach tree in the spirit pool.

Everything here made him feel strange.

Then, he saw those few people sitting under the ancient tea tree of enlightenment.

A black-haired young man, with refined features and a gentle temperament, was holding a teacup and looking at him, a faint smile on the corners of his lips.

A white-clad woman, with stunning beauty, was leaning against that young man, her gaze falling upon him with an indescribable gentleness.

A woman in a green dress sat quietly to one side, the aura around her unfathomable; just one look at her was enough to make one feel awe.

And there was a middle-aged man, holding a teacup, who was observing him with great interest.

Ji Zi stood in place, looking at these people, an indescribable emotion welling up in his heart. He did not know who these people were, did not know what place this was, did not know why that mirror had brought him here. But he could feel that these people held no malice toward him.

Chu Tianjiao set down his teacup, looking at this youth before him, a flash of complexity in his eyes. The shadow of the Void Emperor could vaguely be seen between Ji Zi's brows. That composure, that restraint, that innate righteousness, were all exactly the same as his father's.

"Awake?" He spoke, his voice gentle.

Ji Zi looked at him, was silent for a moment, then nodded. "Where is this?" His voice was still somewhat hoarse, but it was already much clearer than when he had just woken up.

"Undying Mountain." Chu Tianjiao replied.

Ji Zi was slightly stunned. Undying Mountain? That was one of the seven Life Forbidden Zones. How could he be here? But he quickly noticed that this place was completely different from the forbidden zones he had imagined. There was no eerie black mist, no decaying aura, only a tranquil courtyard, swaying ancient trees, and falling golden rain of light.

Chu Tianjiao saw his confusion but did not rush to explain. He pointed to the stone stool beside him. "Sit."

Ji Zi hesitated for a moment, then walked over and sat down on the stone stool. He sat very properly, his back straight, hands placed on his knees, like a child who had been strictly raised.

Chu Tianjiao looked at him, a flash of gratification in his eyes. A child raised by the Void Emperor was indeed different.

"Do you know who you are?" He asked.

Ji Zi nodded. "My name is Ji Zi. My father is the Void Emperor."
