147: Chapter 147 The Little Girl Trying to Conceive

After Willow Deity finished speaking those words, she stood up and left her dwelling.

She left the space to Chu Tianjiao and Xiao Nannan.

In the courtyard, the moonlight was like water, spilling onto the branches and leaves of the ancient tea tree of enlightenment, creating specks of silver radiance.

The human emperor banner still floated gently above Undying Mountain, silent golden rain of light falling, shrouding the entire forbidden zone in a warm and tranquil glow.

Chu Tianjiao held Xiao Nannan's hand, and they walked back to their own small courtyard.

Their footsteps were very slow.

Neither of them spoke.

But that silence was not awkward; instead, there was an indescribable tenderness flowing between them.

Pushing open the door, they walked into the room.

Familiar furnishings, a familiar bed, everything was familiar.

Xiao Nannan stood at the doorway, looking at the place where she and her teacher had lived together for countless years, her eyes slightly reddening.

Since their wedding night, she had wanted a child.

But later, her teacher "died" in her arms.

Later still, she attained the Dao to become an Emperor, lived out three lifetimes, and suppressed the forbidden zone.

Then later, her teacher returned, and they entered the Immortal Domain together, cultivating in seclusion together.

She thought it would finally be possible.

But her teacher was a True Immortal, and she was at the Peak of humanity; that gap meant she could never get her wish.

Later still, she also became an Immortal King.

But after so many years, she had finally waited for this day.

Until today.

Until Willow Deity said those words.

"You need to leave an heir for Prodigy as soon as possible."

Xiao Nannan lowered her head, looking at her own hands.

Those hands had once held the Tyrant Blade to shatter the Supreme's Sendai, had once crushed an Ancient Emperor undergoing Ultimate Sublimation with a single palm, and had clenched and unclenched countless times over countless years.

But at this moment, those hands were trembling slightly.

It was not fear.

It was—nervousness.

Even more nervous than when she first faced a Supreme alone years ago.

Chu Tianjiao walked to her side, reached out, and gently covered her hand.

That hand was warm and powerful, wrapping her slightly trembling hand within it.

"Nannan."

He called out softly.

Xiao Nannan looked up at him.

Moonlight spilled in from outside the window, landing on Chu Tianjiao's face, plating his handsome features with a faint layer of silver.

His eyes were very bright and gentle, carrying a power that put people at ease.

"Teacher is here."

He said softly.

"Always here."

Xiao Nannan's eyes finally reddened.

She threw herself into his arms, holding him tightly, burying her face in his chest.

"Teacher..."

Her voice was somewhat choked with emotion.

"I have waited so long... really so long..."

Chu Tianjiao did not speak, only holding her gently, one hand stroking her long hair, the other arm around her waist.

He knew.

He knew it all.

From their wedding night until now, it was too long.

Long enough that she went from a timid little girl to the ruthless Empress who shook the ages.

Long enough that she guarded the small mountain gate alone, watching the sunrise and sunset, watching the clouds roll and unfurl, watching those who were once familiar leave one by one.

Long enough that she had almost forgotten what it felt like to be embraced.

"I'm sorry."

He said softly.

"For making you wait so long."

Xiao Nannan shook her head, burying her face deeper.

"It's not Teacher's fault... it's what I chose myself..."

Her voice was muffled, yet carried a stubbornness.

"As long as I can wait for Teacher, however long it takes is worth it."

Chu Tianjiao did not speak, only holding her tighter.

The moonlight spilled down quietly, stretching their figures out long.

After a long while, Xiao Nannan raised her head from his chest.

Her eyes were still red, but a smile had already appeared on her face.

That smile was exactly the same as it had been back in Qingshi Town.

Gentle, pure, and carrying a hint of a young girl's shyness.

"Teacher."

She said softly.

"Let us... begin."

Chu Tianjiao looked at her, his eyes full of tenderness.

"Alright."

He said softly.

The night grew deeper.

The red candle in the room flickered, casting their two figures onto the wall, gently intertwined.

Xiao Nannan leaned in Chu Tianjiao's arms, her breathing gradually calming.

Her cheeks were flushed, her eyes still glistening with moisture, her whole being like a flower moistened by spring rain.

Chu Tianjiao looked down at her, reaching out to gently brush away the strands of hair on her forehead dampened by sweat.

"Are you tired?"

He asked softly.

Xiao Nannan shook her head, burying her face in his chest.

"Not tired."

Her voice was muffled, carrying a hint of coquettishness.

"I just want to stay like this... for a while longer."

Chu Tianjiao smiled, pulling her closer.

"Alright."

He said softly.

"You can stay as long as you like."

The two of them lay there quietly like this, listening to each other's heartbeats, feeling each other's body temperature.

Outside the window, the moonlight was like water.

The branches and leaves of the ancient tea tree of enlightenment swayed gently in the night breeze, rustling.

After a long while, Xiao Nannan spoke softly.

"Teacher."

"Hm?"

"Do you think... we might have one tonight?"

Chu Tianjiao was stunned for a moment, then smiled.

"It's not that fast."

He said softly.

"For an Immortal King to have children, it cannot be achieved in just one or two times. It might take a very, very long time."

Xiao Nannan raised her head and looked at him.

"How long is a long time?"

Chu Tianjiao thought for a moment.

"I don't know. Maybe a few years, maybe a few decades, maybe even longer."

Xiao Nannan was silent for a moment, then buried her face back in his chest.

"It doesn't matter."

She said softly.

"I will wait no matter how long it takes."

Chu Tianjiao did not speak, only gently kissed her forehead.

In the days that followed, Xiao Nannan stayed by Chu Tianjiao's side almost every day.

During the day, the two of them would drink tea and discuss the Dao under the ancient tea tree of enlightenment, exploring the mysteries of cultivation.

Xiao Nannan would lean on his shoulder, listening to him speak about his insights into the Dao, occasionally interjecting with a few of her own views.

At night, the two of them would return to their small courtyard.

Loving and lingering, passionately intertwined.

No one disturbed them.

Willow Deity cultivated in seclusion in her own dwelling, the Ancient Kirin Emperor watched over his two children, and the entire Undying Mountain was so quiet that only the sound of the night wind remained.

A month passed.

Two months passed.

Three months passed.

On this day, Xiao Nannan woke from her slumber, opened her eyes, and looked at the familiar face beside her.

Chu Tianjiao was still sleeping.

His breathing was even and long, a hint of faint satisfaction on his face.

Moonlight spilled in from outside the window, landing on his face, outlining those handsome features with extra gentleness.

Xiao Nannan looked at him quietly, the corners of her mouth lifting unconsciously.

She reached out her hand, gently stroking his cheek.

The moment her fingertips touched his skin, Chu Tianjiao opened his eyes.

Those eyes were clear and gentle, carrying the laziness of having just woken up.

"Awake?"

His voice was a bit hoarse, yet exceptionally pleasant.

Xiao Nannan nodded and buried her face in his chest.

"Teacher."

"Hm?"

"Do you think... what our child will look like?"

Chu Tianjiao thought for a moment and said earnestly, "They should look like you."

Xiao Nannan raised her head and looked at him.

"Why?"

Chu Tianjiao looked at her, his eyes full of tenderness.

"Because looking like you is beautiful."

Xiao Nannan's face flushed instantly, and she buried her face in his chest again.

"Teacher only knows how to say nice things..."

Chu Tianjiao smiled and stroked her head.

"It's not just nice things, it's the truth."

Xiao Nannan did not speak, only holding him tighter.

The two of them lay there quietly like this, neither of them speaking again.
