25: Chapter 25 Shock Alliance

This flash of lightning was like the wrath of a god, its speed reaching the absolute limit.

The giant beast didn't even have time to react before it was struck hard.

Boom!!

The explosion was earth-shattering, and the ground trembled violently as if an earthquake were imminent.

Centered on the giant beast, cracks in the ground spread out in all directions for a full fifty meters.

After releasing this destructive lightning...

The two constellations slowly dissipated, and peace finally returned to the world.

Three men and one woman watched the giant beast lying on the ground from a distance.

They then walked forward with steady and rapid strides.

"It must be dead for sure now."

One of the men said.

"That goes without saying. No matter how strong a Mutant-level Magic Beast is, it cannot withstand the Lightning Element spell of a Tier 3 Mage."

The other person chimed in, and the group had already reached the side of the giant beast's corpse.

The ground around the giant beast had completely crumbled.

Its body had been pierced by the lightning, revealing a huge bloody hole.

One could even see the scene on the other side through the hole.

"Good grief, the Lightning Element is truly ruthless; not even a drop of blood is left."

Someone looked at the terrifying wound and couldn't help but click their tongue.

"Alright, it's finally resolved."

"This area can now be marked as our territory."

"Extract the magic core and transport the corpse back to the camp."

"Also, go patrol the surrounding area again to ensure no other magic beasts are lurking."

The man in the leather jacket adjusted his sunglasses and gave the order in a deep voice.

From his tone, it was not hard to tell that he was the captain of this squad.

"Yes!"

The three replied in unison and immediately began to act.

Just as they were about to extract the magic core...

The only woman in the team suddenly stood up, a communicator similar to a mobile phone appearing in her hand.

She glanced at the information on the communicator, then turned to the man in the leather jacket and shouted.

"Branch Chief, a message for you."

As she spoke, she tossed the communicator over.

The man caught it steadily and pressed it to his ear.

"What is it?"

He asked.

After only a few seconds of silence.

The man's expression changed drastically, and he slowly lowered the communicator in his hand.

He suddenly turned his head to look at the three mages handling the giant beast's corpse and shouted sharply.

"Everyone pack up immediately! Return to Baiyun City at once!"

Lin Fan did not know.

That he had caused a huge uproar in the Alliance.

He put the black robe and mask into his system space.

And then set off on the road home.

By the time he returned home, it had already turned completely dark.

In this area of Baiyun City.

Only a few streetlights, the light from nearby residents' windows, and the moon in the sky barely provided a glimmer of light.

After inheriting the original owner's memories.

Lin Fan knew every street and alley in this district like the back of his hand.

He also knew which places were trouble spots.

He needed to take detours to avoid running into those hooligans hiding in quiet alleys waiting to commit crimes.

It wasn't that he was afraid of them.

It was just that he was in a good mood today and really couldn't be bothered to get entangled with these people.

Although he had been hunting magic beasts all day, his strength hadn't directly increased.

But not only had he obtained an extremely practical spell that would save him a lot of trouble in the future, he had also made a fortune by selling his loot!

Thinking of this.

The corners of Lin Fan's mouth couldn't help but curl up.

He pushed open the door and stepped inside.

"I'm home!"

He called out.

"Brother, you're back!"

Lin Duo's eyes lit up when she saw Lin Fan, and she immediately ran towards him.

"Where did you go? I thought you weren't coming back."

Lin Duo ran up to Lin Fan.

Her cute little face wore a hint of reproach.

"Went out to take care of some things. Did you miss me?"

Lin Fan smiled and ruffled her hair.

"Don't mess up my hair! Everyone is waiting for you to have dinner!"

Lin Duo protested verbally but didn't dodge his hand.

Upon hearing the commotion, their mother walked out of the kitchen.

"You're back? Go wash your hands quickly; we're about to eat, I'll set the table now."

She said to Lin Fan with a smile, then turned and went back to the kitchen.

"Alright, Mom."

Lin Fan replied and headed straight to his room, while Lin Duo remained in the living room.

"Lin Duo, come help Mom set the table!"

"Coming!"

Walking into his room and closing the door, Lin Fan could still hear the conversation between his mother and sister in the living room.

He casually tossed the old backpack he had carried when he went out to the side.

He lay down on the bed, staring blankly at the ceiling.

No one knew what he was thinking.

After a long while, Lin Fan slowly raised his hands and gazed at his clean, slender palms.

He stared at his palms for a moment.

Slowly clenching his fists.

A determined smile curled at the corners of his mouth, and a glimmer flickered in his eyes.

A few minutes later, Lin Fan finished washing up and changed into clean clothes.

He and his family sat around the dining table, chatting while eating.

At the dinner table.

It was always Lin Duo chattering away and asking endless questions.

Their mother kept reminding her not to talk while eating.

Their father listened quietly, rarely interrupting.

"I heard from others that the academy is going to hold a selection tournament to pick student representatives for our academy to participate in the Continent-wide Academy Star Championship!"

"I want to go watch the competition and cheer for Brother!"

Lin Duo suddenly spoke up.

"Lin Duo! Swallow the food in your mouth before you talk!"

Their mother said helplessly.

"The selection tournament probably won't be open to the public, since it's for selecting contestants."

"Wait until the official competition, then you can go and cheer for me. By then, I'll bring back first place for you."

Lin Fan turned his head to look at Lin Duo and said with a smile.

The little girl's eyes widened, and she asked excitedly.

"Really?"

"Of course it's true."

Lin Fan answered confidently.

Their parents quietly watched the siblings chatting happily.

Their mother's face held a gentle smile, but their father's eyes revealed a hint of complexity.

Dinner ended quickly.

Their mother asked Lin Duo to help wash the dishes in the kitchen.

Lin Fan was just about to go back to his room to read when he heard his father's voice.

"Lin Fan, come sit in the living room for a while."

Lin Fan turned around and saw his father walking towards the living room.

He didn't speak and followed silently.

The father and son sat opposite each other across the coffee table, silent for a few seconds.

Their father cleared his throat and broke the silence first.

He gazed at Lin Fan for a few seconds before speaking.

"Your mother told me that you finally broke through to become a First-Order Mage."

"Yes, that's right."

Lin Fan replied.

He noticed that after hearing his answer.

His father's lips trembled slightly, and his eyes were filled with complex emotions, clearly struggling to suppress his feelings.

"Hmm, very good. Son, Dad is proud of you."

After a while, his father said slowly.

Upon hearing this, Lin Fan's heart gave a sudden jolt.

From the original owner's memories, he knew that his father had always been a man of few words, yet he loved him dearly.

He also remembered.

In the past, his father always looked at him with eyes full of guilt.
