75: Chapter 75 Resentment

The smile was so sweet it could make one sick; most boys would have fallen for it long ago.

But on Lin Fan, it was completely useless.

He scanned the five girls expressionlessly and coldly spat out one word: "Scram."

His tone was as cold as eternal ice.

The girls trembled, their faces turning pale.

"S-sorry for bothering you!"

"We're leaving right now!"

"Quick, it's too cold here!"

The girls scrambled away in fear.

Lin Fan snorted coldly and ignored them.

Although most students had changed their opinion of him, there were always some stubborn diehards who remained unconvinced.

In the spectator stands not far away, a handsome youth with short white hair, dark eyes, and a white cape was staring coldly at Lin Fan with an arrogant look in his eyes.

"Hmph, just because he has a little fame, he really thinks he's a big shot."

The youth felt disdain in his heart and looked away.

The competition soon began, and students were called onto the arena one by one.

Everyone watched the matches, but the topic of discussion always circled back to Lin Fan!

Who would his next opponent be? Would Lin Fan lose? Between Lin Fan and the goddess Su Linlin, who was actually stronger?

The students discussed it excitedly, and those sitting near Lin Fan even deliberately praised him loudly, hoping to curry favor.

Seeing that Lin Fan did not react, they did not give up, instead touting him as the academy's number one and even getting into arguments with Su Linlin's fans.

Lin Fan completely ignored all of this, his gaze fixed only on the battles in the arena.

After a few more matches ended, it was finally his number's turn.

Lin Fan walked onto the arena.

Unlike before, when he was met with jeers, this time, many people were cheering for him.

For a moment, the entire training ground was filled with voices cheering him on.

Lin Fan turned a blind eye, slowly walking onto the stage to wait for his opponent to appear.

Soon, his opponent appeared... a youth who looked about seventeen years old, wearing a red cape over his school uniform; from the color, one could tell he was a third-year student.

"Begin!" the teacher commanded.

Everyone watched with anticipation.

However, the expected attack did not happen, and Lin Fan did not summon starlight.

"I, I surrender." A weak voice rang out on the arena, and the whole place fell into instant silence.

The audience was stunned for a few seconds before erupting into an uproar.

Lin Fan's opponent had surrendered directly!

The youth scrambled down from the arena, looking as if he were being hunted by a magical beast, terrified that Lin Fan might change his mind and suddenly attack.

Lin Fan and the two teachers were taken aback for a moment before realizing what had happened.

After seeing Yang Xing's fate yesterday, it was perfectly normal for someone to just forfeit.

Moreover, this wasn't the first time someone had admitted defeat before the fight even started.

The teacher announced Lin Fan as the winner, and he walked off the arena and returned to his original spot.

The students watched him while whispering among themselves:

"If it were me, I'd surrender too."

"Seeing what happened to Yang Xing and still daring to fight would be foolish; one must know their own limits."

"That's right, Senior Lin Fan isn't someone an ordinary person can fight. Right now, probably only the goddess Su Linlin can go up against him."

"But I still think that guy was too cowardly. At least hold out for a bit, don't you want to save face?"

"Having your face beaten swollen and getting knocked until your teeth are all over the floor is even more embarrassing."

"Regardless, Senior Lin Fan has won his third match. If he wins two more, he'll be in the top five and can represent the academy."

"Wow, I never thought that trash... *cough cough*, Senior Lin Fan could make it into the top five."

"Do you think he'll run into the goddess Su Linlin in his next two matches?"

"Probably not. They are both the strongest in the academy right now, and the academy definitely wants them to represent it together; they won't let them fight each other early."

"Sigh, but I really want to see them fight. How is the goddess Su Linlin going to get revenge for that incident at the amusement park?"

"Revenge for what? It never happened, okay? I heard they never even met; it's all just rumors!"

Lin Fan listened quietly, feeling that some of what they said was right.

After seeing his strength, the academy would definitely not want either him or Su Linlin to be eliminated.

Having the two strongest represent the academy and achieve good results was the most logical arrangement.

"Then how is Su Linlin going to fulfill her promise and take revenge on me?"

Lin Fan scanned the crowd and quickly locked onto Su Linlin.

Coincidentally, Su Linlin was also staring fixedly at him, her eyes filled with hatred.

Lin Fan immediately curled his lips into a provocative smile and slowly moved his lips, silently saying: "What can you do now?"

He deliberately slowed down his lip movements to ensure Su Linlin could understand.

Sure enough, Su Linlin's eyes instantly became even more ferocious, and she gritted her teeth, almost breathing fire.

Lin Fan curled his lips in satisfaction and leaned back into his seat.

He just loved seeing Su Linlin react like this.

A thought suddenly popped up: he had read quite a few comics before where they were bickering couples who went from enemies to lovers.

His and Su Linlin's current plot was almost exactly the same... no deep-seated hatred, yet the grudges weren't so easy to resolve.

It couldn't be that they would become a couple in the future, could it?

Thinking of this, Lin Fan shook his head violently, shaking off this ridiculous thought.

Impossible, absolutely impossible.

Who has time to date? Grinding experience and becoming the strongest mage was his real business!

Even if he really had to consider romance, it definitely wouldn't be someone like Su Linlin.

For some reason, he just hated this girl and just wanted to make her so angry she died.

The competition continued, and it was soon Su Linlin's turn.

Her opponent was a tall, thin boy, a water elemental mage who was their classmate in the fourth year.

Perhaps because she had been provoked by Lin Fan.

As soon as the teacher announced the start, Su Linlin immediately made her move.

A Star Pattern formed in one second.

A massive fireball slammed directly toward her opponent.

The casting speed of her first-tier spell had become even faster!

The boy was so scared by her ferocity that his soul nearly flew out of his body, and he hurriedly shouted for surrender.

But the fireball had already rushed in front of him like a giant boulder, the heatwave hitting his face.

Fortunately, the teachers weren't just for show and reacted extremely quickly.

One teacher instantly rushed in front of the fireball to block it.

The other grabbed the frightened student and pulled him away.

The teacher who blocked the fireball was even more shocked... he actually had to consume more magic power than expected to barely block this attack.

'These students are becoming more and more terrifying.' The teacher looked at the expressionless Su Linlin, inwardly shocked.

"Number One, win!"

Time passed quickly.

The last match ended.

Lin Fan, as usual, left the academy immediately.

He walked through the quiet corridor toward the academy gate.

But as soon as he turned the corner.

He saw a person standing in the middle of the corridor not far away.

Golden long hair, a small face, a moderate figure, and skin so fair that one could tell at a glance how soft it was.

Beautiful brown eyes curved like crescent moons, slender eyebrows, a straight nose, and rosy lips.

Even the school uniform could not hide her hourglass figure.

She stood there, her curves particularly noticeable.

She was a girl with stunning beauty.

On her shoulders was a yellow cape that matched her hair color.

She looked about the same age as Lin Fan.

But her figure was not in the least inferior to most female teachers.
