Chapter 96 Clinton Prison

"Everyone, go out and wait for me on the road."

After saying that, Wang Xiuyuan extended his hand to Holt, the purpose of which was self-evident.

Holt, of course, knew what Wang Xiuyuan wanted. He opened his mouth but didn't know what to say, because he knew this was the safest approach.

Holt sighed deeply and silently handed a silenced pistol and six magazines to Wang Xiuyuan, then walked out of the warehouse with the others.

Muffled gunshots echoed in the warehouse again, each spent casing hitting the ground signifying the loss of a life.

Foreign countries and China are two completely different worlds. In China, if you do your own thing, you can live a very decent life. You might not be rich, but at least you have food, drink, and a place to live.

However, outside of China, it's completely different. This is a dog-eat-dog world where you must constantly devour others' wealth and lives to strengthen yourself if you want to live a good life.

Everything here is quantifiable as assets and wealth, including a person's life, and every part of a person's body has a clear value.

Afterward, Wang Xiuyuan cleaned the warehouse thoroughly, making sure no shell casings or bullets were left behind.

Aside from the remaining bloodstains on the ground, no one would know what happened here tonight.

...

Clinton Prison in Dannemora, New York State, is a maximum-security prison for serious offenders, built in 1865. Since its operation began, there has never been a prison break.

The name Clinton Prison has been in use since its establishment. It shares the same name as a certain President of the United States with hypersexuality; it was not renamed Clinton Prison midway to commemorate him.

No president wants his name used for a prison; an aircraft carrier would be more fitting.

Previously, Clinton Prison was managed by the New York State Government, but now the management rights of this maximum-security prison have been transferred to a private prison management company.

Originally, the inmates of this prison lived a comfortable life of eating, drinking, and fighting. Inmates short on money could work in the prison's laundry room to earn some living expenses for cigarettes. Life was simply too carefree.

But a month ago, after Renoson took over the prison, the situation drastically changed. The good days for these serious offenders were gone forever; they were like livestock on a farm.

Poor food, poor drink, poor sleep.

Hundreds of people were crammed into a large cell converted from a warehouse, all sleeping in bunk beds.

As soon as someone on the bed turned over, the bed frame would creak. In short, no one could get a peaceful night's sleep.

When Wang Xiuyuan's motorcade arrived at the gates of Clinton Prison, Renoson, Devik, Locke, Sanchez, and others immediately went to greet him.

Not only them, but partners like Mars, Gluck, and Salmer were also all present today.

"Long time no see, guys! It seems everyone is eager to check our results!"

At this moment, Wang Xiuyuan was particularly happy, because their initiative to greet him showed that he had become the backbone of this group.

This was a white-dominated society, and it was not easy for Wang Xiuyuan to reach this point.

Everyone exchanged pleasantries in front of the prison.

Aside from Renoson, Devik, Locke, Sanchez, and Mars, who were already striving in their careers, Gluck, Salmer, Rodriguez, and Reeves, these Second-generation rich who had nothing to do, caught Wang Xiuyuan and complained about their difficulties.

Originally, everyone was the same, all good-for-nothings living off others, but then others found their life's direction and started working hard on their careers, while only they were still idling away.

Who could stand this feeling of being left behind and abandoned!

Gluck, Salmer, Rodriguez, and Reeves complained to Wang Xiuyuan, their purpose being nothing more than to ask Wang Xiuyuan to find them something to do. Who could stand playing day and night?

"Three great CEOs, when do you expect our prison to start making a profit? Is there an estimated timeline?"

As Wang Xiuyuan posed this question, the other six simultaneously looked at Renoson, Devik, and Locke.

Before Wang Xiuyuan arrived, they hadn't even considered this question. In their opinion, such a large investment wouldn't reach profitability for at least one or two years, so they consciously avoided the topic.

But after Wang Xiuyuan asked, they actually became a little curious.

Renoson, Devik, and Locke exchanged glances, then couldn't help but laugh.

Renoson laughed and shook his head: "It seems the gap between us and Wang Xiuyuan is truly enormous. You guys don't even think about this question, but only he guessed the outcome."

Locke also sighed, "Yes, only Wang Xiuyuan guessed the outcome. I estimate you wouldn't believe the data if I showed it to you."

After hearing this, even the slowest to react knew that the business results were much better than they had imagined.

"What's the situation now? My family's business evaluation team predicted it would take about two years to break even. Can it be achieved this year?"

"It can't be that fast, can it? It should at least be the second half of next year to break even."

The six who were not directly involved in prison management made various bold guesses, but none of them could guess the correct answer.

Devik stated assertively, "Actually, our prison can start generating profits from next month."

"What? Are you serious?"

"God, that fast?"

"Is the prison business that profitable?"

Achieving profitability in the second month is definitely super explosive good news.

The private prison business is, in the end, a physical business. Its initial investment is very large, so its profitability cycle and cost recovery cycle are particularly long.

This is also where everyone found it surprising.

Renoson and the others were very satisfied with the others' astonished reactions and said proudly:

"We strictly followed Wang Xiuyuan's plan and negotiated terms with the State Government. These prisons were directly transferred to us for management, including the prison staff and guards.

So, we had no major initial investment.

Additionally, there are government subsidies. Take Clinton Prison, for example: the State Government pays us a subsidy of three hundred and twenty US dollars per inmate per month, and the entire year's subsidy is deposited into our account in advance.

In fact, apart from lobbying funds and political donations, we haven't spent a single cent so far; the State Government's subsidy funds are sufficient to operate the prison."

Locke Vanderbilt interrupted directly when Renoson was being so long-winded.

"After we threw those inmates into the warehouse, some prisoners quickly couldn't bear it and paid for a bed.

Previously, a bed in a regular cell housing four inmates cost one hundred and twenty US dollars a month, a two-person room cost three hundred US dollars a month, and a single room cost one thousand US dollars a month.

If you wanted other services, you had to pay extra.

Just the income from selling beds combined with government subsidies means we won't lose money.

We also have income from selling food, cigarettes, and other daily necessities; it's practically a goldmine."
