21: Chapter 21 Paying Respects to Parents, The Mysterious Old Man

Starfall Pavilion

"Pavilion Master You Quan, the mercenaries in the Tianmu Mountain Range from that day have all been cleared out. The Young Pavilion Master's vengeance has been settled."

Elder Li bowed and reported the battle results.

"Where is the youhai storage ring?" The stunningly beautiful woman in the main seat wore a red robe, her skin like congealed fat. Her three thousand strands of dark hair were coiled at the back of her head, held by a fiery jade hairpin that sparkled like a diamond, resembling a phoenix spreading its wings.

She radiated a noble majesty, and her cold voice, like the cry of a fire phoenix, resonated throughout the great hall.

"The youhai storage ring? Reporting to the Pavilion Master, it was not found at the scene." Elder Li looked puzzled, then spoke softly.

"Keep looking. The youhai storage ring is of great importance; it must be found!"

Pavilion Master You Quan was as cold as ice, and a chilling aura poured out, causing Elder Li to be terrified. He feared that the Pavilion Master's strength had improved.

"Yes, Pavilion Master!" Elder Li took the order and exited the great hall.

"Sigh, that youhai storage ring was passed down to her by her teacher, the Flame Emperor. It contains not only various medicinal pills but also some powerful cultivation techniques and Dou Techniques. If she hadn't spoiled her youngest son, she would never have bestowed it upon him. Whoever dares to touch it, death is the only penalty!"

Alone in the great hall, Pavilion Master You Quan clenched her white fingers into a fist, making a creaking sound, while killing intent flashed in her beautiful eyes.

In the blink of an eye, there were seven days left until the Ten Thousand Swords Pavilion examination.

"Miss Nian, I have matters to attend to, so I will not disturb you any further!"

Hun Tiandi revealed a gentle smile, cupped his hands in a salute, and offered his farewell.

"Very well, take care on your journey!" Princess Nian Youyou smiled charmingly, her world-shaking beauty blooming with a stunning radiance that lit up the room.

Her bewitching temperament caused Hun Tiandi's heart to tremble; she was truly a temptress.

Hun Tiandi composed himself, dispelling distracting thoughts, and stepped forward. Princess Nian Youyou saw him out to the entrance of the Darong Auction House.

"Who is this young man?" Passing through the lobby, whether it was the stewards, the clerks, or the people coming in to purchase goods, everyone was shocked.

As the person in charge of the Darong Auction House, Princess Nian Youyou had always been haughty and aloof, never showing a pleasant face to others, even when facing the leaders of the three major mercenary groups in Cangyun Town.

She had never personally seen anyone off before.

Hun Tiandi walked out of the Darong Auction House without looking back, raising his right hand to wave, his thin figure disappearing into the torrent of humanity.

"Little brat, don't you dare die, otherwise..." Princess Nian Youyou's beautiful eyes were like a painting, she murmured softly, taking a deep breath.

On the bustling street, peddlers and passersby flowed endlessly, and the sounds of hawking were incessant. Steaming dog meat buns, golden and crispy pancakes, and wontons rolling in the pot like little fish—the prosperous life of the mortal world was reflected in his eyes.

"Paper Horse Shop!"

After a long while, Hun Tiandi saw an ancient shop before him, with two white lanterns hanging at the entrance and three words on the dark yellow plaque: 'Paper Horse Shop.'

Located in a corner of the bluestone street, it was a shop specializing in sacrificial supplies.

"Boss?" Hun Tiandi walked slowly into the shop, where various sacrificial supplies like candles and paper money were displayed.

"What do you need?"

Suddenly, a faint voice came from behind the counter. A white-haired old man with a sleepy face and a face full of wrinkles and gullies appeared.

His turbid eyes flashed with brilliance, and his sharp gaze fell upon Hun Tiandi.

"Paper money, candles..." Hun Tiandi's heart trembled; this old man was quite powerful. He hadn't been mistaken about that majestic and sharp gaze earlier.

"Wait a moment!" The white-haired old man then turned to retrieve what was needed and placed it on the counter.

Hun Tiandi paid with gold coins, put the items into his storage ring, and turned to leave.

"Is it him? The seal is broken..." After Hun Tiandi left, the white-haired old man murmured, detecting a faint sense of familiarity in the young man in the green shirt.

"So what if it is, and what if it isn't? Back then, that person refined pills using the bloodline of the clan's descendants and sacrificed experts to forge the Blood Blade, almost causing the clan to be exterminated."

Now, the clansmen were enslaved by the Ancient Eight Clans, living lives worse than death, while he hid in Cangyun Town, clinging to life...

"That old man... familiar?" Hun Tiandi stood at the street corner, frowning slightly.

He had sensed the aura of the Hun Clan bloodline from the white-haired old man in the Paper Horse Shop. Although he had transmigrated into Hun Tiandi and merged with the original soul imprint, he also carried the karma.

After a moment of contemplation, Hun Tiandi turned and left. Even if the white-haired old man was truly the last of the Hun Clan, he did not intend to acknowledge him.

The most important thing right now was to join the Ten Thousand Swords Pavilion and improve his strength.

On the outskirts of a mountain range.

Before him were two graves, covered with green grass. Surrounded by lush, towering ancient trees and blooming flowers, waves of floral fragrance drifted by.

He took out candles, lit them, set out fruits, and burned paper money...

Hun Tiandi knelt on the ground, kowtowing heavily several times, two lines of clear tears streaming from his eyes.

His expression was blank, but his hands did not stop.

"The great vengeance has been avenged. Father, Mother, rest in peace underground. Your child will now walk his own path..."

Hun Tiandi murmured softly. He flipped his hand, took out two jars of fine wine from his storage ring, opened them, and poured them onto the ground as the rich aroma of wine permeated the air.

"Uncle Li, Aunt Li, rest in peace!" Standing up, with not a single candle or sheet of paper money missing, he recalled everything in his mind, feeling only helplessness in his heart.

Now that the Sky Wolf Mercenary Group had been wiped out, he had no attachments. From now on, what Hun Tiandi sought was the path of the strong.

This path was full of thorns and dangers, but he would definitely persevere and walk it firmly.

Strength was the only way to survive on the Fighting Qi Continent.

With a calm state of mind, a terrifying suction force erupted from the sea of consciousness between his eyebrows. His mind was drawn into the space of his consciousness, and the mist around the heart of samsara dispersed.

It revealed a scarlet area, and a thick stream of information surged into his soul, causing his brain to collide.

It was actually...

Hun Tiandi was shocked, even more excited than when he had obtained the Blood Scripture and the God Refining Art.

After browsing through it, he realized the conditions for cultivation were extremely harsh and required waiting.

After paying respects to his parents, Hun Tiandi did not leave. He caught two magical beasts and started a fire to roast them.

With pale yellow flames crackling on the firewood, Hun Tiandi turned the grill, hoping to stay a little longer, not knowing if he would have the chance to come again in the future.

With the rich aroma of meat wafting, his training in the Tianmu Mountain Range had given him a perfect grasp of roasting meat.

"Who is it? Come out!"

Suddenly, the soul power in his sea of consciousness fluctuated. His heart sank, and his soul power surged out and spread. Sensing someone fifty or sixty meters to his front right, he spoke.

"Little friend, what strong soul perception!"

Suddenly, a surprised voice rang out in the forest. An Elder in Black flew out, his aura as sharp as the wind, his eyes as sharp as swords, and a yellow wine gourd hanging at his waist.

With gray-white long hair and a body as slender as a sword, he landed on Hun Tiandi.

The hair on Hun Tiandi's body stood on end; the sharp gaze stung his skin, and his vigilance rose to the highest level.

"Flying? At least a Dou Ling expert!"

Hun Tiandi mobilized his Fighting Qi, dispersing it into his meridians and limbs. Not knowing if the old man was a friend or foe, even if he couldn't defeat him, he could flee quickly.

"Little friend, can you share some roast meat with this old man?" the mysterious old man asked.

"Senior, please feel free!" Hun Tiandi smiled and did not refuse.

Afterwards, he picked up the roast meat and began to eat heartily. He took out a jar of fine wine from his storage ring and poured a cup to drink, the rich aroma of the wine making the mysterious old man's eyes erupt with brilliance.

His eyes fixed directly on the wine jar, and Hun Tiandi understood his intention.

"Senior, if you don't mind, have a cup!" Hun Tiandi said.

"I don't mind!" As soon as the words fell, the mysterious old man reached out as fast as lightning, and the wine jar fell into his hands.

"Drunkard!" Seeing this scene, Hun Tiandi complained inwardly, the corners of his mouth twitching wildly, while at the same time, he marveled at the old man's immense strength.

Right now, he was a four-star Dou Practitioner. To see a Dou Ling who could fly through the air with his own eyes, separated by two major realms—regarding the old man before him, he would avoid offending him if he could.
