5: Chapter 5 Entering the Skyfall Mountains
After a long while, Hun Tiandi stood up, his gaze falling upon the carcass of the snow leopard magical beast.
On the road, Hun Tiandi reflected on his life-and-death battle with the snow leopard, analyzing the shortcomings in his fighting style.
In truth, he hadn't fully unleashed the power of his Half-Step Crushing Fist in that fight; he had defeated the snow leopard purely through the brute force of his 9th Stage Dou Zhi Qi.
He had simply hammered it to death!
There was no technique involved, only brute force.
Two days later, at the edge of the Tianmu Mountain Range, an endless expanse of mountains came into view. From time to time, the roars of beasts echoed from within. With a leap, he soared like a bird spreading its wings, plunging headlong into the beast-infested Tianmu Mountain Range.
Hun Tiandi's arduous training officially began.
Boom!
A massive Flame Tiger, exuding a fierce and malevolent aura, was a Tier 1 magical beast. After struggling a few times, it completely lost its life.
Blood flowed from its mouth. That single strike of the Half-Step Crushing Fist had contained a shattering force that penetrated its abdomen, pulverizing the Flame Tiger's internal organs.
Since entering the Tianmu Mountain Range, Hun Tiandi had targeted only Tier 1 magical beasts.
His goals were twofold: to hone his Dou Technique, the Crushing Fist, and to accumulate combat experience.
In the quiet forest, a booming sound rang out, causing nearby magical beasts to flee in terror.
As the magical beasts retreated, the rustling of footsteps echoed through the woods, and in the blink of an eye, the figure of a youth in green robes emerged.
He looked up at the scorching sun in the sky, then immediately looked down at the Flame Tiger on the ground.
The youth's delicate and handsome face still showed a hint of immaturity. It was none other than Hun Tiandi, who had come here for training.
He had been fighting in the mountains for three days, and every magical beast he encountered had perished at his hands.
Tempered by the blood of numerous magical beasts, Hun Tiandi's green robes were stained with crimson. A faint scent of blood wafted from him, and he radiated a dense, malevolent aura.
His brilliant eyes were sharper than before, occasionally flashing with a keen edge.
He appeared extremely dangerous.
The Tianmu Mountain Range was a decent place for training, but now, Tier 1 magical beasts no longer served any purpose for Hun Tiandi.
This was just the edge of the mountain range; it didn't even count as the outer perimeter.
It was time to enter the outer perimeter. With a movement of his body, he sped toward the depths.
Half a day later, at the edge of the mountain range, three men and one woman approached cautiously. In the lead was a Blue-robed Youth with eyes like swords and a long sword slung across his back.
The wind blew, and he exuded such a sharp aura that people dared not look directly at him.
"Senior Brother Wu, you must help me find the huitian spirit fruit this time. The inner sect disciple competition is next month, and with the help of the huitian spirit fruit, I will surely win," said the Pink-robed Girl.
Standing beside the Blue-robed Youth was a Pink-robed Girl with skin like congealed fat and a beautiful appearance. Her voice was as crisp as the splashing of a mountain spring.
The youth smiled gently and promised, "Junior Sister, you must work hard and strive to enter the inner sect."
Standing beside the Pink-robed Girl was a youth of about fifteen or sixteen years old. His expression was somewhat fearful as he hid behind her.
He spoke up, "Senior Brother, Senior Sister, please protect me well as we enter the Tianmu Mountain Range."
The Pink-robed Girl smiled beautifully and said, "Junior Brother, you insisted on coming along. The mountain range is full of magical beasts, so be careful. If Master finds out, he will definitely ground you."
The Blue-robed Youth turned his head, glanced at the two of them, and said indifferently, "Junior Brother, your cultivation talent is not bad. If you can't even endure this little hardship, how can you become an expert?"
Upon hearing this, the youth seemed afraid of the Blue-robed Youth and replied, "Senior Brother Wu, I was wrong."
"Alright, the grand competition is imminent. Once we get the huitian spirit fruit, we will return to the sect," the Pink-robed Girl comforted him.
"Senior Sister, you are a genius of our Starfall Pavilion. You went from a 4-star Dou Practitioner to a 7-star Dou Practitioner in just two years. You will definitely be promoted to the inner sect in this competition."
The youth nodded happily and waved his small fists, as if cheering himself on.
The Pink-robed Girl shook her head slowly upon hearing this and said, "When it comes to genius, that would be Junior Brother. It only took you four years to go from the 5th stage of Dou Zhi Qi to the 9th stage. You are truly the number one genius of Starfall Pavilion."
As soon as these words were spoken, the Blue-robed Youth also nodded slightly, seemingly agreeing with the Pink-robed Girl's words.
"Junior Brother, keep up. Let's go!" The two men and one woman entered the dense mountain range.
Cangyun Town.
"Young Commander, someone saw that brat leave Cangyun Town, but his whereabouts are unknown," the middle-aged man in black said angrily.
"Send people to look for him. Also, contact the mercenaries outside. If anyone discovers the brat's tracks, I will reward them heavily."
Young Commander Tiangang was furious, a bad premonition arising in his heart.
Just as he was about to take revenge, Yun Tian had actually run away first. His vigilance was so high that he could not be left alive.
"Yes!" The middle-aged man in black left.
In the mountains, Hun Tiandi bathed in blood, fighting constantly, searching for magical beasts to temper himself.
When his Dou Zhi Qi was exhausted, it was the best time to cultivate.
Sitting cross-legged on a blue stone, he formed hand seals to cultivate. With steady breathing, the faint energy from the sky swirled around his body.
It seeped into his body through his pores, and his exhausted body devoured it greedily.
The Dou Zhi Qi within his body began to expand rapidly, flowing through his meridians, polishing the Dou Zhi Qi and tempering his muscles and bones.
Nourishing his meridians, he intended to forge the strongest foundation at the most basic stage of Dou Zhi Qi.
Hun Tiandi was not in the slightest hurry to break through to become a Dou Practitioner. Now, cultivating at the 9th stage of Dou Zhi Qi, his innate body had all meridians unblocked, and his cultivation speed was extremely fast.
Breaking through the 9th stage of Dou Zhi Qi would condense a Dou Qi Whirlwind, and upon success, one would advance to become a Dou Practitioner.
This was also the common path of cultivation on the Fighting Qi Continent.
But Hun Tiandi was not a person of this world; he had transmigrated here. According to the ancient mythological heavenly books, there were Heavenly Emperors who, in their youth, broke through limits and shattered the state of perfection.
They ascended to the Ultimate Realm, where in every stage, there was nothing left to cultivate and nothing left to break through.
They forged the strongest foundation and were invincible within the same stage. Hun Tiandi wanted to try and see if he could do so without breaking through to the Dou Practitioner stage.
Advancing to the 10th stage of Dou Zhi Qi.
If he succeeded, it would prove that breaking the state of perfection and reaching the Ultimate Realm was feasible; if he failed, he would just waste a little time.
As the cultivation continued, milky-white Dou Zhi Qi appeared around Hun Tiandi's body, becoming increasingly dense.
There was not the slightest sign of it weakening.
His soul force surged out to perform internal observation. The milky-white Dou Zhi Qi circulated; every inch of his flesh was pure, and his blood flowed like a flood, roaring with a rumbling sound.
His meridians were crystal clear, incredibly thick, and extremely tough.
His beating internal organs were full of vitality.
Whoosh!
Hun Tiandi opened his eyes, which flashed with a hint of light. He clenched his fists, feeling the abundant Dou Zhi Qi within his body, and felt wonderful.
He stood up and walked to a tree as thick as a thigh. He clenched his fist and slammed it out, the milky-white Dou Qi flowing over his fist.
Hun Tiandi let out a low shout, his fist containing a fierce force, and slammed it into the trunk.
Crack!
A crisp sound rang out. The thigh-thick tree was broken by a single punch, creaking as it fell to the ground, kicking up clouds of dust.
The power of this punch was enough to rival a 5-star Dou Practitioner, and he wouldn't be without the power to fight back even against a 1-star Dou Master.
With his savage physical constitution, he was confident he could last ten rounds against a 3-star Dou Master without being defeated.
Rumble!
At this moment, his stomach rumbled, and a feeling of hunger came from within.
He had killed two Tier 1 Snow Rabbits. They didn't have strong combat power but were good at jumping and were extremely fast, and they tasted delicious.
He skillfully started a fire and set up a rack to roast the snow rabbits.
He took some seasonings and honey from his storage ring and sprinkled them over the fire. The rabbit meat roasted to a golden, crispy brown, and a rich meaty aroma spread into the distance.
It would be ready to eat in a moment. He turned the grill with his palm.
Rustling sounds—footsteps stepping on leaves, causing them to crackle.
The youth sniffed hard, his eyes lighting up, and he swallowed his saliva repeatedly.
"Senior Sister, what smells so good?" the youth asked.
"Junior Brother, are you hungry?" the Pink-robed Girl teased, smiling charmingly, which made the dim mountain forest seem much brighter.
Hearing this, the youth's fair, immature face flushed red, and he lowered his head.
A wave of meaty aroma entered their nostrils. The three of them looked at each other and walked toward the direction of the fragrance.
