124: Tyrannosaurus Rex
The gloom of the Apocalypse hung heavy like thick ink, blanketing the scarred land.
The air was filled with putrid and burnt smells, and crumbling ruins cast distorted shadows under the dim sunlight, as if materializing the despair of the Apocalypse.
Yang Chunlai, a leader who had risen in the Apocalypse, now stood atop a pile of ruins.
His brow was tightly furrowed, his eyes revealing determination and resolve.
His body was covered in traces of battle, and his worn clothes were stained with dried blood.
His messy hair flew wildly in the wind, yet his straight back showed an unyielding will.
Behind him was a group of subordinates, equally haggard but full of fighting spirit.
They had just completed a seemingly impossible mission — blowing up an Air Raid Shelter.
This Air Raid Shelter was considered an important stronghold for the zombies.
But who could have predicted that this explosion would unleash an even greater crisis?
With an earth-shattering roar, the Air Raid Shelter was instantly engulfed by rolling black smoke.
Crushed stones and dust flew everywhere, like an apocalyptic dust storm.
The explosion made people's eardrums ache, and the earth trembled as if it were about to collapse.
Everyone coughed in the smoke, squinting, thinking it was all over, but then a strange sound came from underground.
The sound was deep and muffled, like a roar from the depths of Hell, striking people's hearts repeatedly, sending shivers down their spines.
Everyone became vigilant, gripping their weapons tightly, knuckles white from effort, eyes fixed on the collapsed Air Raid Shelter.
Everyone's breathing became hurried and heavy, and the tense atmosphere, like an invisible net, tightly enveloped them all.
Suddenly, a huge claw broke through the ground.
The claw was as thick as a tree trunk, and its sharp nails gleamed with a cold light in the sun, as if it could easily tear through anything in its way.
Immediately after, an enormous body emerged from the ruins.
When they saw what the monster looked like, everyone was stunned.
It turned out to be an unknown monster, like an extinct Tyrannosaurus Rex!
This Tyrannosaurus Rex was over ten meters tall, its body as massive as a small mountain.
Its skin was a dark gray, covered in rough scales.
Each scale was palm-sized, shimmering with a cold metallic luster in the sunlight, like an indestructible armor.
Its head was huge and broad, with two long fangs protruding from the corners of its mouth, gleaming coldly and striking fear into hearts.
Its blood-red eyes were like two burning fireballs, radiating endless tyranny and ferocity, as if they could see through a prey's fear.
Its neck was thick and powerful, with muscles bulging high, as if containing endless strength, capable of stirring up a gale with a casual sway.
On the back of the Tyrannosaurus Rex, there was a row of sharp bone spikes.
Each bone spike was as thick as an arm, like sharp daggers, glinting dangerously in the sun.
Its tail was long and thick, like a giant python.
It swayed wildly behind it, and wherever it went, deep pits were smashed into the ground.
The surrounding ruins were shattered by the swing of its tail.
Its four limbs were thick and sturdy; with every step, the ground trembled, kicking up large clouds of dust, as if the whole world bowed beneath its feet.
"This... how is this possible?"
Yang Chunlai's subordinates exclaimed in unison, their faces filled with fear and shock.
In this Apocalypse overrun by zombies, they had already witnessed too much horror and despair.
But the appearance of this Tyrannosaurus Rex still filled them with unprecedented fear.
Some felt their legs turn to jelly, almost losing their balance; others subconsciously retreated a few steps, their weapons trembling slightly in their hands.
Yang Chunlai's expression also became extremely grave; he knew how great the threat of this Tyrannosaurus Rex was.
He couldn't help but recall the strange footprints in the forest.
They were probably left by this guy.
If it wasn't dealt with quickly, not only would he and his subordinates lose their lives, but even his hometown would face utter destruction.
His mind raced, contemplating a countermeasure.
Just then, he had a sudden inspiration and thought of a plan.
Yang Chunlai was an Ability User with special powers; he could control zombies.
He quickly formed hand seals, chanted incantations, and fine beads of sweat appeared on his forehead.
Instantly, the surrounding zombies seemed to receive a summons and surged towards them.
In a short while, hundreds of zombies had gathered.
These zombies moved slowly, emitting a nauseating stench of decay.
Their bodies were incomplete, some missing arms, others missing legs.
But there were many of them, like a black tide, surging towards the Tyrannosaurus Rex.
Yang Chunlai released Zombie General Murong Zhan from his spatial storage.
He ordered Murong Zhan to lead these zombies in an attack against the Tyrannosaurus Rex.
Murong Zhan was a capable subordinate of Yang Chunlai; he was burly and muscular, wielding a sharp long saber, his eyes revealing fearless courage.
He shouted, his voice echoing in the desolate ruins, "Brothers, follow me!"
He was the first to charge at the Tyrannosaurus Rex. The zombies behind him also followed, letting out chilling roars.
Seeing so many zombies charging, the Tyrannosaurus Rex not only showed no fear but became even more excited.
It opened its enormous maw and let out a deafening roar.
This roar seemed to tear through the air, shaking the surrounding buildings until they swayed precariously.
It charged towards the zombie horde with extreme speed, like a black whirlwind.
Wherever it went, zombies were sent flying, like fallen leaves caught in a strong wind.
The Tyrannosaurus Rex's strength was simply too immense; with every step, it crushed several zombies.
Its huge foot stomped on the zombies, making a heart-stopping sound.
A casual flick of its tail could sweep a row of zombies to the ground; their fragile bodies were no match for its immense power.
Although the zombies were numerous, they appeared so fragile in front of the Tyrannosaurus Rex.
The battle fell into a stalemate; zombies constantly fell, yet the Tyrannosaurus Rex remained unharmed.
Seeing this situation, Yang Chunlai knew this wouldn't work; he had to come up with a new plan.
Suddenly, he thought of explosives.
He immediately shouted to his subordinates, "Quick, bring the explosives!"
His voice carried a hint of urgency.
The subordinates quickly brought the explosives. Yang Chunlai tied the explosives to several zombies and then controlled these zombies to charge towards the Tyrannosaurus Rex.
His eyes were fixed on the Tyrannosaurus Rex, silently praying for success this time.
When these zombies got close to the Tyrannosaurus Rex, Yang Chunlai decisively detonated the explosives.
Several loud bangs were heard, flames shot into the sky, and the blast wave sent the surrounding zombies and dust flying upwards.
For a moment, dense smoke filled the air, fire flickered, and waves of heat washed over them.
However, when the smoke cleared, everyone saw the Tyrannosaurus Rex still standing in place.
Although it had some dust on its body, it had not suffered any substantial damage.
It turned out that the Tyrannosaurus Rex's skin was too hard; the power of the explosives simply couldn't harm it.
It merely shook its body, then let out another angry roar towards Yang Chunlai and the others.
Seeing this, Yang Chunlai's heart sank. He knew that this Tyrannosaurus Rex was far more powerful than he had imagined.
But he did not give up; his eyes revealed firm determination.
He decided to lure the Tyrannosaurus Rex away, in a direction far from his hometown.
Yang Chunlai began to use his ability, controlling the zombies to continuously harass the Tyrannosaurus Rex and attract its attention.
He directed the zombies while retreating in the direction away from his hometown.
The zombies, like fearless suicide squads, charged at the Tyrannosaurus Rex one after another.
Although they were constantly knocked down by the Tyrannosaurus Rex, they still blocked its path.
The Tyrannosaurus Rex was indeed enraged by the zombies, and it chased closely behind Yang Chunlai.
It roared all the way, its angry roar seemingly declaring that it would not give up.
After a difficult struggle, Yang Chunlai finally succeeded in luring the Tyrannosaurus Rex into a valley far from his hometown.
He watched the Tyrannosaurus Rex disappear into the depths of the valley, letting out a long sigh of relief.
Then, with several blinks, he vanished from the Tyrannosaurus Rex's sight.
Upon returning to his hometown, Yang Chunlai immediately discussed how to strengthen their defenses.
He sat among the others, his voice a little hoarse: "We have temporarily escaped the threat of the Tyrannosaurus Rex this time, but no one knows when it will reappear."
"For the safety of our hometown, we must be fully prepared."
Then Yang Chunlai laid out his plan...
