58: The Death of a Thug
The Little Security Guard sneered.
"You say there is, she says there isn't. I'm willing to believe her, is that a problem?"
The Hooligan grew anxious, his mind finally catching on: This guy is the Big Brother; he can believe whoever he wants. How could I possibly control that?
It was all his own fault for being so arrogant normally; aside from the Village Chief, he dared to offend anyone.
He wanted to show off, but ended up getting slapped in the Face instead. He had lost all Face and become the laughingstock of the entire village.
And never mind losing Face—he was likely about to receive a severe beating.
Well, if he got beaten, he got beaten. It wasn't like he hadn't lost Face once or twice before.
The Hooligan began lashing out wildly, like a drowning man grasping at a straw.
"A Big Brother should keep his word and not go back on it. The seed didn't bloom, which proves I wasn't lying."
The Little Security Guard delivered a strike right to his head, making his skull ring with a loud buzz.
His head throbbed with splitting pain, and a lump the size of a steamed bun puffed up.
It hurt even more than being stung by a wild hornet larger than a watermelon!
"Is there something fucking wrong with your head?"
"A seed blooming? You actually believed that?"
Enduring the pain, the Hooligan thought to himself: Holy crap, I've been played.
The Little Security Guard turned to the Villagers below the stage and said, "All that talk about seeds sprouting and me knowing Spells was just something I made up to trick a fool."
He smashed the Hooligan's head once more.
The bun-sized lump that had just formed on the Hooligan's head was split open.
Blood flowed out like a fountain.
The Hooligan bared his teeth in a grimace. Dammit, he's calling me a fool!
The crowd below had long been resentful but silent about this Hooligan's usual crimes and willful behavior.
Now seeing someone who could suppress him, everyone beamed with joy, feeling a great sense of relief.
"He deserves it! Evil people are suppressed by even more evil people! Oh, wait, that's not right—evil people are suppressed by the Boss, hehe."
The Little Security Guard continued, "Everyone saw it just now. While I was counting, this man kept peeking at the seed in his hand. Isn't that the behavior of someone with a guilty conscience?"
"So, it wasn't that I used a Spell to read his mind, but rather that he had a ghost in his heart and exposed himself."
The Villagers all came to a sudden realization.
"So that's how it was! Truly an Expert!"
"This Boss is truly clever, playing this Hooligan like a fiddle!"
"I almost believed the Boss really knew Spells just now! We were also being toyed with by the Boss!"
"Otherwise, how could he be the Boss?"
...The Hooligan was in despair.
"Fine, I admit defeat. Just give me a beating! Anyway, I've been beaten plenty of times; I'm not afraid of losing a layer of skin."
The Hooligan thought: Hehe, I'll build an image of myself as someone who isn't afraid of a beating.
In front of the Village Flower and the Villagers, I'll craft a personal image of a tough guy.
Even the Boss can't do anything to me!
Let's see who dares to mess with me after this!
Strong Ox said, "Heh, just a beating? Aren't you dreaming a bit too much?"
"You little brat, you used to flatter the former Village Chief and help him do evil, while everyone was too afraid to speak out."
"Now you actually dare to challenge the Boss's authority and slander Tian Xiaohe's innocence, and you think a simple beating will settle it?"
A hint of a cold smile appeared in Strong Ox's eyes.
The Youth Patrol members all surrounded him.
The Hooligan had committed too many misdeeds; everyone wished they could be the one to execute him.
This fellow felt things were going south. Were they going to kill him?
In his desperation, the Hooligan wet his pants.
A burst of laughter erupted from below the stage.
"Holy crap, he peed his pants! The 'great hero' peed his pants!"
"He calls himself a hero every day, but this is the first time we've seen a hero who wets his pants!"
...Even the Village Flower's Face showed a look of extreme contempt.
The Hooligan felt he had lost all Face today.
Of all the times for this pee to come, it had to be now!
He wouldn't be able to show his Face around here anymore.
But how could Face be more important than his life?
"Brother Dazhuang, please spare me!"
Dazhuang: "Spare you? Ask the Villagers if they agree! Ask the knife in my hand if it agrees!"
A glinting butcher knife brandished before the Hooligan's neck.
The Hooligan said urgently, "Big Brother, that's a butcher knife, and it's already blunt. Why don't you change to a different knife?"
In his desperation, he resorted to a stalling tactic.
Dazhuang: "No need to change. This butcher knife is meant for slaughtering a pig like you. Killing a villain with a blunt knife is one of life's great pleasures!"
Seeing that this tactic wouldn't work, the Hooligan shouted in desperation, "Dazhuang, if you want to fight, let me go. Let's have a duel. What kind of hero are you, keeping me tied up like this?"
Some muddled people below also wanted to see a show. "Dazhuang, let him go and duel him. Dealing with him would be a piece of cake for you, wouldn't it?"
The Little Security Guard shook his head.
Heh, these guys. It's not you going out there, so you're happy to let someone else take the risk while you watch the show. You're certainly generous with other people's safety!
Strong Ox was simple-minded. Under the encouragement of the Villagers, he actually did untie the Hooligan.
The Hooligan's eyes darted around as he took two steps back. "Fine, today I'll let you all witness my kung fu."
As he spoke, he took a few more steps back. "I need a little buffer space first."
Then he took a few more steps back.
Finally, spotting a small path, he suddenly turned and bolted for his life.
"Not good, he's escaping!"
"This kid is full of tricks!"
The crowd began to clamor.
Strong Ox led his men in pursuit.
This kid usually spent his time stealing chickens and dogs, so he had long ago practiced a nimble movement style and was an Expert at running away.
The dozens of pursuers were all farmhands; they had strength for labor.
But when it came to running, they were truly no match. Not a single person could catch up.
The Hooligan even stopped occasionally to make Faces at the crowd: "Hehe, you want to catch me? No way! Go back and practice for another few decades!"
"What kind of crappy Big Brother is that? In front of me, he'd only be fit to kowtow and beg for mercy."
"This Boss position should be mine."
He had not only made a fool of the Boss but also successfully broken through.
The entire village couldn't catch him; they were all being played in the palm of his hand.
Showing off today was a real success!
The Hooligan felt he had reached the Peak of his life!
"And they call him the Boss? He's nothing in front of me!"
The thousands of Villagers all cursed vehemently, "Dammit, he's run so far, we can't catch him!"
"This kid is so arrogant, he's actually still cursing at us?"
"If this brat were standing in front of me, I'd tear his dog mouth apart!"
..."With so many of us, this kid was actually able to escape!"
Everyone was filled with righteous indignation.
The Little Security Guard, however, stood firmly in place and gave a cold sneer. "You think you still have a chance to show off in front of me?"
A booming sound of breaking air rang out.
It caused all the Villagers to forget about the Hooligan and look toward the source of the sound in the sky.
They saw a spear streak across the sky, like a soaring Dragon.
It was the spear the Boss had used just now.
The spear whistled through the air, like a flying Dragon breaking through the void, shooting toward the Hooligan.
The Hooligan was still standing on high ground, cursing loudly at the pursuers behind him and the Villagers in the distance: "What kind of bullshit is Strong Ox?"
"What kind of bullshit is that Boss?"
"Aren't they all being played by me?"
"Come and catch me!"
"Come and kill me!"
"I'm standing right here, waiting for you to kill me. Let's see if you fools can actually do it..."
As he spoke, he unzipped his pants and peed toward the crowd. "Why don't you all have a drink of my pee!"
Before he could finish his sentence, he felt a booming sound in the sky as something came flying through the air.
The Hooligan squinted his eyes and looked up toward the sun.
The sunlight was blindingly bright; he could only see a black dot...
