17: Chapter 17 System Rewards Burst
"Ding!"
A crisp notification sounded suddenly in Wang Sheng's mind, like a pebble dropped into a calm lake, sending ripples spreading outward.
A translucent system panel appeared out of thin air in his field of vision, with golden light flowing like liquid sunlight, illuminating the entire Chiefs Tent.
Shen Xun'er was also startled by this sudden radiance. She sat up from Wang Sheng's embrace, the thin quilt slipping down to her waist.
She hurriedly clutched the corner of the quilt to wrap herself, her almond eyes wide as she looked at the golden panel.
[Detected that the Chieftain and his first wife have completed the soul contract!]
[Congratulations to the Chieftain for marrying his first wife, Shen Xun'er (Charm: SSS)!]
[Rewards are positively correlated with the wife's charm value; calculating...]
[Congratulations on obtaining the following rewards:]
The golden text on the panel appeared line by line, each character seeming as if cast from sunlight, casting a warm glow within the tent:
**[Reward 1: Legendary Architectural Blueprint · Ancestral Spirit Altar]**
Quality: Legendary (Gold)
Effect: Core tribe building. Provides tribal protection, accelerates cultivation, enables divination, and searches for world information.
The Altar's level unlocks new functions as the tribe's level increases. Rituals are presided over by the High Priestess, with effects correlated to the Priestess's rank.
**[Reward 2: Talent Inheritance · Moonlight Affinity]**
Effect: Nighttime cultivation speed +100%.
This talent is perfectly compatible with the Moonlight Priestess's class skills, increasing the power of Moonlight-type spells by 30% at night and reducing spirit power consumption by 20%.
**[Reward 3: Tribe Contribution Points × 500]**
Effect: Can be used to exchange for supplies in the system shop.
At the bottom of the panel was another line of small golden text:
[Note: The Ancestral Spirit Altar must be built in the tribe's core area. Upon completion, it will automatically activate the Sanctuary Domain. Within the protected area, tribal members' cultivation speed is +20%, and it will trigger an alert when a Savage Beast intrudes.]
Wang Sheng looked at the content on the panel, feeling shocked.
Ancestral Spirit Altar, a legendary building!
Judging from the system shop's catalog, a legendary architectural blueprint cost at least twenty thousand contribution points, and he had just obtained one directly based on Shen Xun'er's charm value!
Not only that, the Moonlight Affinity talent inheritance was a massive boost to his nighttime cultivation.
Combined with the Moonlight Priestess's passive skill, Blessing of the Moon God, his combat prowess at night would see a qualitative leap.
Shen Xun'er leaned over to check the panel, her body wrapped in the thin quilt pressing against his arm, her long black hair brushing against his shoulder. Her almond eyes shifted from shock to surprise.
"Wait, SSS charm?" She blinked, the blush on her cheeks deepening.
"Is this... high or low?"
"The highest." Wang Sheng looked at the three golden S's next to her name on the panel. "The system's charm rating goes from F to SSS; you are in the top tier."
Shen Xun'er's ears turned bright red instantly.
She buried her face in his shoulder, her voice muffled: "Does that mean... the rewards are also the most?"
"Yes." Wang Sheng reached out to wrap his arm around her shoulders. "So, thank you."
Shen Xun'er lifted her head from his shoulder, her almond eyes filled with smiles and a hint of shyness.
The moonlight and the golden light of the system panel were reflected on her face, making her so beautiful it took his breath away.
"You're welcome." Her voice was soft and sweet. Her fingertips tapped lightly on his chest.
"I'm the one who should be saying thank you. After four years, I've finally waited for this day."
The system panel slowly dissipated, golden light particles drifting like fireflies in the tent, settling on their skin like dreamlike golden dust.
The tent returned to its dim, warm light, with only the starlight shining through the skylight and the faint glimmer from the Lingxi River remaining.
Shen Xun'er leaned back into his embrace, pulling the thin quilt up to her chin, revealing only her almond eyes and slightly upturned lips.
Her long black hair spread across his chest like black satin. Her fingers traced characters on his palm, stroke by stroke. He recognized it—it was his name.
"Ancestral Spirit Altar," she said softly. "Let's build it tomorrow. With the altar, the tribe will have true protection."
"Yes." Wang Sheng tightened his arm, drawing her closer. "You will be the High Priestess."
"Obviously." Shen Xun'er laughed in his arms, her almond eyes curving into crescents.
"If the Moonlight Priestess isn't the High Priestess, are you going to have a Holy Light Warrior like you dance around and perform rituals?"
Both of them laughed.
The laughter was light, but exceptionally clear in the night of this savage world.
Outside the tent, the water of the Lingxi River flowed with a gurgling sound, and the night breeze carried the delicate sweetness of spirit flowers across the tent flap.
The sound of Murong Xue's footsteps during her night watch was far away at the valley entrance, and the rustling sound of Zhao Linger turning over occasionally came from the neighboring tent.
Shen Xun'er gradually quieted down in his arms, her breathing becoming long and even.
But just when Wang Sheng thought she had fallen asleep, she suddenly spoke, her voice as light as moonlight falling on the water:
"Wang Sheng."
"Hmm?"
"I am your wife now."
She didn't look at him when she said this, but pressed her face against his chest, her voice muffled, as if confirming a long-awaited fact.
But Wang Sheng could hear the laughter and sweetness hidden in that voice. It was the satisfaction of finally being able to say "I am yours" rightfully after four years of waiting and crossing life and death.
He lowered his head and kissed the top of her hair.
"Yes, mine."
Shen Xun'er rubbed against him gently, like a small beast that had finally found its home, her lips curving into crescents.
She tightened her arms around his waist, burying her face deeper into his chest, her long black hair tangled with his disheveled clothes like two rivers that could never be separated again.
"Wang Sheng, let's do it again." After saying this, her entire face turned bright red, a rush of heat surging from the soles of her feet to the top of her head, and she shyly buried herself in Wang Sheng's embrace.
Wang Sheng stroked Shen Xun'er's bare back, his warm palm wandering over her delicate, smooth skin.
He turned over suddenly, and before Shen Xun'er could let out a gasp, he pressed her firmly beneath him.
With his lips, he kissed away all her unspoken longing. Shen Xun'er eventually melted into a pool of spring water, softly responding...
The last light of the spirit stone in the tent slowly extinguished. Moonlight poured in from the skylight, sprinkling over their embracing bodies like a silver veil.
The sound of the Lingxi River was like an ancient lullaby. The fourth night of the savage world moved toward dawn in a sea of tenderness and sweetness.
Bright Tribe, Chiefs Tent.
One wife, one altar, one promise.
This was just the beginning. On the system panel, the icon for the "Spreading Branches and Leaves" halo was still shining with a faint golden light, as if silently reminding them: more encounters, more bonds, and more legends were waiting to be written in some corner of the savage continent.
But tonight, none of that mattered.
What mattered was that the four years of secret love finally had a response, and the Moonlight Priestess could finally fall asleep peacefully in the arms of the one she had waited for so long.
