59: Chapter 59 Su Mengyao's Feelings

Su Mengyao's Spirit Garden is on the west side of Guangming Village, right next to the three acres of spiritual fields.

This is a miracle created by the hands of a Nature Druid; starting from the third day after they arrived in this world, Su Mengyao planted the very first spiritual flower seed on this barren land beside the Lingxi River.

Back then, the camp didn't even have decent tents, and everyone lived in makeshift shacks made of Savage Beast skins.

The wind would blow in from all directions, and it was so cold at night that it would wake people up, but even in the intervals between being frozen awake, Su Mengyao would sneak out and use the Power of Nature to stimulate that spiritual flower seed, just like a mother humming a lullaby beside a cradle.

More than twenty days have passed.

That initial spiritual flower seed has now grown into a garden, the most beautiful garden along the banks of the Lingxi River.

jade heart herbs form a low, emerald-green fence around the edge of the flower bed, while frost moon orchids bloom inside the fence with silver-blue flowers that look like a galaxy fallen to earth.

golden sun flowers stand proudly in the center of the garden like a cluster of little golden suns, and in the deepest part of the garden, the few that Su Mengyao treasures most, the moonlight roses, are about to bloom, with silver dew drops resembling moonlight congealing on their petals.

The garden is filled with floral scents—not the scent of just one type of flower, but the fragrance of dozens of spiritual flowers interwoven together, like perfume blended by the gods of the wilderness.

Each floral scent is a musical note, and dozens of them harmonize into a symphony of life and beauty that only a Nature Druid can hear.

Su Mengyao squats at the edge of the flower bed, her hands buried in the spiritual soil.

Her ten fingers are slender and fair—no, not just slender and fair; those hands are like the hands of an elf blessed by the Power of Nature.

Her fingertips are stained with the brown of the spiritual soil and the sap of the spiritual flowers, but every movement is as if she is playing an invisible piano.

She gently pushes aside the roots of the jade heart herb, drips a drop of spiritual liquid onto the end of the root, then covers it with spiritual soil and pats it down, just like a mother tucking in the corner of a baby's blanket.

Her emerald-green hair hangs down her back like a waterfall.

The hair is too long, and when she squats, the ends drag on the spiritual soil, picking up a bit of brown dirt.

But she is completely unaware of it; there is a resonance between a Nature Druid and spiritual flowers that others cannot understand.

At this moment, her entire attention is focused on that jade heart herb, her emerald eyes like two pools of water bathed in spring sunlight, focused and gentle.

She is not wearing her usual Savage Beast skin hunting gear today.

Ever since the tribe upgraded to a village and Rune Forgemaster Xu Mohan finished making a batch of new-style wilderness clothing, Su Mengyao has changed into an emerald-green silk dress.

It is a fabric that Pei Yanzhi wove by blending spiritual silkworm silk with the fibers of jade heart herb.

It is ten times softer than Savage Beast skin and even lighter and thinner than the silk from Earth, like a spiderweb soaked in morning dew, clinging to her skin like a second layer.

The emerald-green silk dress fits Su Mengyao's body perfectly.

The Nature Druid has the most voluptuous and soft figure among the sixty-two girls; she is not the slender willow type, but rather a peach shape that seems specially favored by the fertility of the wilderness—slender where she should be slender like a willow, and full where she should be full, like fruit nourished by both sunlight and rain.

Her waist is as soft as a willow branch in the spring breeze, but the curve below the waistline is rounded and full, like a curve sculpted by nature itself.

The fabric of the silk dress is stretched into a graceful arc at that spot, like the surface of a lake rippled by the morning breeze, with every fold perfectly outlining the contours of her figure.

Her long, shapely legs are visible beneath the hem of her long dress; as she moves, the hem sways, revealing a section of her fair, tender ankle—soul-stirring and captivating.

It is the most heart-shaking detail about Su Mengyao, like honey hidden by nature in the deepest part of a flower, which only those close enough can glimpse.

She stands up, her emerald-green hair cascading down her back to her waist, the spiritual soil clinging to her hair like fine gold dust in the sunlight.

She shakes her head gently, and her hair traces an emerald arc in the air, like a willow branch swaying in the spring breeze.

A few petals from the spiritual flowers drift down from her hair, like colorful little boats floating on an emerald waterfall.

"Sister Mengyao," Zhao Linger's voice comes from the entrance of the Spirit Garden.

The Spirit Sound Master's figure is like a cheerful little bird, nimbly darting through the gaps in the jade heart herb fence and hopping in front of Su Mengyao in just a few steps.

Her baby face wears a smile that is unique to Zhao Linger and makes people alert; that smile means she is up to some mischief again.

"Linger?" Su Mengyao tilts her head, her emerald-green hair sliding gently over her shoulder, her emerald eyes filled with gentle curiosity. "What is it?"

Zhao Linger leans into her ear, the Spirit Sound Master's lips almost touching Su Mengyao's auricle, lowering her voice, but the Spirit Sound Master's "lowered voice" is still as clear as normal conversation.

"Wang Sheng went to patrol the outer perimeter of the Savage Beast Forest this afternoon, and Murong Xue went with him. They should be back in about two hours."

The roots of Su Mengyao's ears turn slightly red, her porcelain-like skin showing a faint hint of green; the blush on the green base looks like the first peach blossom on a spring branch, exceptionally eye-catching.

"Why... why are you telling me this?"

Zhao Linger's smile becomes even brighter, her eyes curving into crescent moons on her baby face, her little head tilted to one side, like a cat that has stolen a fish.

"Sister Mengyao, aren't the moonlight roses in your Spirit Garden about to bloom?"

Su Mengyao's fingers tremble slightly, and the spiritual liquid on her fingertips drips onto the spiritual soil, like morning dew falling into the earth.

"...Yes. They are about to bloom."

"Then..." Zhao Linger's voice suddenly becomes very soft, as if the Spirit Sound Master's voice has been tuned to its gentlest frequency. "How long are you going to wait?"

Su Mengyao does not speak.

Her emerald-green hair hangs over her shoulder, obscuring half of her face, but Zhao Linger sees it: the blush rising on that half of her face has already spread to the roots of her ears, like the greenery of spring spreading to the entire forest.

Zhao Linger pats Su Mengyao's arm, then turns and runs out of the Spirit Garden; the Spirit Sound Master's voice sounds like silver bells in the wind.

"Good luck, Sister Mengyao! I'll help you decorate the entrance of the Spirit Garden; leave the flower wreaths and such to me."

Su Mengyao stands at the edge of the flower bed, watching Zhao Linger's bouncing figure disappear behind the jade heart herb fence, and then she looks down at her own hands.

Her ten fingers are slender and fair, her fingertips stained with spiritual soil and the sap of spiritual flowers; these hands have grown the most beautiful spiritual flowers in Guangming Village, stimulated the harvest of the three acres of spiritual fields, and made vegetables and spiritual herbs grow on the barren wilderness land, but they have never held that person's hand.

It's not that there hasn't been an opportunity.

Wang Sheng comes to the Spirit Garden every day to check on the growth of the spiritual flowers, sometimes helping her move the Savage Beast bone fertilizer, and sometimes helping her water with Lingxi River water.

His hands are large, his fingers long and strong; when he holds the bag of Savage Beast bone fertilizer, it is as if he is holding a section of a Savage Beast's spine.

She watches from the side, wondering in her heart what it would feel like if those hands were to hold her own.

She has thought about it many times.

She thought about it while watering the flowers in the Spirit Garden, while stimulating the maturation of spiritual wheat in the spiritual fields, and while lying in bed unable to sleep amidst the silver-blue glow of a Moonlight Blessing.

When did it start?

It probably started on the morning she woke up on the first day after arriving in this world.

She sat up from the unfamiliar grassland and saw Wang Sheng standing by the Lingxi River, the sunlight shining from behind him, his golden silhouette like the first ray of sunshine rising over the Savage Beast continent.

Back then, he hadn't awakened his system yet and was just an ordinary liberal arts student, but the expression of relief he showed after seeing that all sixty-two girls were safe made Su Mengyao's heart skip a beat.

It wasn't astonishment; it was peace of mind.

It was just like the moment a seed falls into fertile soil, knowing that this is the place where it is meant to take root.

Since then, every time he came to the Spirit Garden, every time he helped her move the Savage Beast bone fertilizer, and every time he praised the flowers she grew, that seed in her heart would germinate, grow, sprout branches, and unfurl leaves, like a spiritual flower stimulated by the Power of Nature, growing uncontrollably toward the direction of the sunlight.

And today, the moonlight roses are about to bloom.
