39: Chapter 39 Unstoppable

Su Mengyao crouched on the flank, hands pressed to the ground, her emerald green hair cascading over her shoulders like a waterfall.

Spirit Vines erupted from beneath the ground, entangling the Red Flame Pigs attempting to flank. The savage vines hissed and crackled in the flames.

But Su Mengyao's emerald eyes were closed, and the Power of Nature spawned more Spirit Vines to replace those burned away, binding the Red Flame Pigs tightly.

Her voluptuous and supple figure crouched among the vines and flowers; beneath her skirt, her fair, delicate ankles shimmered with a soft luster in the dim light, while beads of sweat dotted her forehead.

Zhao Linger's sonic waves transformed into invisible blades, piercing the eardrums of the Savage Beasts. Low-level Savage Beasts became dizzy, and the pack of Shadow Wolves retreated with painful howls, but they quickly swarmed back, the eerie green light in their vertical pupils burning even brighter.

"The Shadow Wolves aren't affected by the sonic waves!" Zhao Linger exclaimed, her baby face twisted in a scowl. "They have some kind of mental barrier!"

Zheng Liuli compressed her spirit fire into spheres and hurled them into the beast horde, blasting a path through them. Chen Siqi's twin tails stood on end, and lightning leaped and connected through the Savage Beast horde, the arcs of electricity crackling loudly.

Gu Qingwan's wind blades cut through iron like mud. Tang Waner held up a giant shield, blocking the front of the combat group; beneath her soft, cute appearance with a round face and large eyes lay an immensely powerful Iron Wall Shield Guard.

The giant shield remained motionless against the charge of the Savage Armored Rhinoceros. Her surprisingly curvaceous figure, usually revealed when she took off her armor, was now concealed by battle gear, but the power behind every punch she threw was no less than that of a Savage Beast.

The battle reached a white-hot intensity.

Then, the earth suddenly trembled.

It was not the tremor caused by the hooves of the Savage Beast horde, but a deeper, heavier vibration, as if some behemoth beneath the earth was awakening.

The beast horde stopped.

All the Savage Beasts—the Iron-Backed Wolves, Savage Horned Deer, Savage Armored Rhinoceroses, Red Flame Pigs, and Earth-Splitting Bears—ceased their attacks. As if following an order, they retreated to the sides in unison, clearing a twenty-step-wide path directly in front of the camp.

At the end of the path, in the dark forest, two points of eerie red light ignited.

They were not eyes, but horns.

The moment the Giant Horned Rhino King stepped out of the forest, everyone understood what a "behemoth" truly was.

It was a size larger than the Savage Armored Rhino King from the last Beast Tide, with a shoulder height of over three meters and a body length of nearly six meters.

Its entire body was covered in dark gray, rock-like armor plating. Each plate was etched with naturally formed, savage Spirit Runes that flickered in the dim light like living things.

Most terrifying were its horns—not the short, thick single horn of the Savage Armored Rhino King, but two giant, crescent-moon-shaped horns.

They curved backward from the sides of its forehead, the tips sharp as spears. The horns were covered in spiral Spirit Rune grooves, with eerie red light flowing through them like two burning veins.

Barbarian Warrior Third Tier. The Giant Horned Rhino King.

Its dark red vertical pupils swept across the battlefield and locked onto one target: Wang Sheng.

A low growl like muffled thunder rolled across the earth. The Giant Horned Rhino King kicked its hind legs, and the entire behemoth, like a moving hill, crushed forward toward the camp gate!

Its speed was far greater than its size suggested!

Qin Luoxi's spirit formation was like paper before it; the blue light barrier was struck by the giant horns and shattered into a sky full of light particles.

Fences, roadblocks, stones—every obstacle in its path was ground into powder. A three-meter-wide trench of shattered earth was left in its wake, soil flying like waves!

"Get out of the way!" Wang Sheng stepped forward, blocking the center of the camp gate.

Golden light flared in his palms as he charged his Holy Light Slash. He saw it clearly: the Giant Horned Rhino King's charge was straight, and a frontal confrontation was unavoidable!

Rather than letting it charge into the camp and trample his clansmen, it was better to block it here!

The Holy Light Slash shot from his palms, a golden blade of light half a meter wide, cleaving toward the Giant Horned Rhino King's head with the scorching Power of Holy Light!

"Boom!"

The golden blade of light collided head-on with the dark gray armor, erupting in blinding light and a deafening roar.

The shockwave sent gravel and dust within ten steps flying, and the surface of the Lingxi River rippled in concentric circles.

However, the Holy Light Slash only left a half-inch-deep scorch mark on the Giant Horned Rhino King's forehead armor!

The armor was too thick!

The defense of the Barbarian Warrior Third Tier Giant Horned Rhino King far exceeded that of the Savage Armored Rhino King. The Spirit Runes on its dark gray armor were actually able to absorb and disperse the impact of the Power of Holy Light. Eerie red light flickered at the scorch mark, and the armor didn't budge!

The Giant Horned Rhino King didn't even stop.

It let out a low growl and thrust its horns forward. The two crescent-moon-shaped giant horns, like two giant axes, clamped toward Wang Sheng, carrying a violent shockwave of spirit power!

Wang Sheng's pupils contracted, and a Shield of Light unfolded before him.

"Bang!"

The Shield of Light shattered after holding for only half a second under the impact of the horns!

Immense force slammed into Wang Sheng's body from the front. His feet plowed two deep trenches into the ground, and he was pushed backward by the momentum of the Giant Horned Rhino King.

Ten steps! Twenty steps! Thirty steps!

A trace of blood spilled from the corner of Wang Sheng's mouth, and his blood churned in his chest like boiling water.

He tried to steady himself, but the Giant Horned Rhino King's momentum was too terrifying. The full power of a Barbarian Warrior Third Tier was pressed into the kinetic energy of its charge; it was like being pushed by a mountain!

He was sent flying.

His body tumbled through the air, smashing through a wooden wall behind the camp gate, bouncing twice on the ground and kicking up a cloud of dust.

"Wang Sheng!" Murong Xue's voice rang out, sounding as if it were tearing apart.

She saw it: the moment Wang Sheng was sent flying, the Giant Horned Rhino King had already turned, its dark red vertical pupils locked onto the spot where he had fallen. It kicked its hind legs again, and the charge began anew!

This time, no one could block it.

"Bang!"

Silver lightning tore through the morning light.

Murong Xue stood before Wang Sheng.

She held her Holy Light spear horizontally, the shaft bracing against the giant horns of the Giant Horned Rhino King. Her silver armor creaked under the impact.

Her feet were nailed firmly into the ground, plowing two deep trenches—the exact same posture as Wang Sheng just moments ago—but her figure swayed more than his, and cracks had already appeared on the chest of her silver armor.

"Don't… you… dare… touch him!"

Murong Xue gritted her teeth, every word seemingly squeezed out from between them.

Her brown ponytail was disheveled, a few stray hairs clinging to her temples. The color had drained from her determined face, but she refused to retreat.

The silver armor clung to her fit, tall body, outlining the full curves of her chest and hips. At this moment, those curves trembled under the immense force, but her feet were as if rooted, not moving an inch.

She was like a shield—a silver shield burning with the will to fight.

The Giant Horned Rhino King let out a low growl and slightly lifted its head. The crescent arc of its horns perfectly caught the shaft of the spear. With just a twist of its head, it could fling this troublesome iron rod—along with its wielder—away!

"Frost Mage Lin Shiyun!"

Murong Xue did not shout her own name, but the name of another.

She did not look back, but there was an absolute trust in her voice. She knew that person was definitely there.

Frost Mage Lin Shiyun was there.

A Frost Spell poured down from the high ground.

Her silver-white hair danced in the ice mist like a fairy in the snow. In her ice-blue pupils, the Giant Horned Rhino King's dark red vertical pupils were reflected.

"Frost Seal: Thousand-Mile Frost!"

This was a high-level Frost Spell that Frost Mage Lin Shiyun had never actively used in actual combat.

Ice-blue cold energy erupted from her hands. It was not the ground-covering frost trap from before, but a tide of ice sealing that surged toward the Giant Horned Rhino King from all directions at once.

The frost began to spread upward from its four hooves, freezing the Spirit Runes on its armor and sealing the gaps in its joints.

Ice crystals grew wildly in the spiral grooves of its horns, attempting to seal off those two most dangerous weapons!

The Giant Horned Rhino King let out a heaven-shaking roar. The spirit power of a Barbarian Warrior Third Tier exploded, and the eerie red Spirit Runes on its dark gray armor suddenly flared. The scorching spirit power melted and evaporated the frost like flames!

But, it stopped.

It stopped for only two seconds.

But for the battlefield, two seconds was enough.
