51: Chapter 51 The Village of Light

Guangming Village.

Wang Sheng stood at the newly completed village entrance; the main gate of the primary defensive wall was a gatehouse constructed from wild logs.

Hanging above the gatehouse was a Spirit Rune stone tablet, upon which three large characters were carved and outlined with spiritual power: "Guangming Village."

The Spirit Rune shimmered with a faint golden light in the sun, like an emblem blessed by holy light.

Wang Sheng took a deep breath. The air of the wilderness remained crisp and cold, but the breath he drew into his chest now held something different than before.

It was the scent of soil tilled by spiritual power, the fragrance of Savage Beast logs etched with Spirit Runes, and the cool mist kicked up by the Lingxi River washing against the newly built stone walls.

It was a settlement that had grown from tents and campfires, finally possessing the scent of "Home."

He turned around.

Behind him were the smiling faces of sixty-two girls.

They stood in the open space at the village entrance, sunlight spilling over them as if gilding every person with a golden outline.

Some were laughing loudly, some were screaming, some were wiping away tears, and some were hugging those around them and jumping for joy.

It had been over twenty days. From the moment they woke up lying on the strange grass on the day they transmigrated, to this moment standing at the entrance of a real village, everything they had experienced had now transformed into uncontrollable joy.

Shen Xun'er stood at the very front of the crowd.

The Moonlight Priestess had changed out of her moon-white ceremonial robes—no, not changed out of them; the ceremonial robes had been reshaped by spiritual power the moment she upgraded via holy light.

The new ceremonial robes were still moon-white, but the fabric had changed from light and gauze-like to a satin-like texture, clinging to her slender yet curvaceous figure. Where she should be slender, she was as slender as a willow; where she should be full, she was as full as a peach.

Her jet-black hair cascaded like a waterfall to her waist, shimmering with a soft luster in the sunlight.

Her watery, apricot-shaped eyes curved into two crescents, holding pride, relief, and the certainty of "I didn't follow the wrong person after all." Just as moonlight illuminates the entire night sky, her smile illuminated Wang Sheng's vision.

She did not speak, merely lifting her chin slightly and nodding at him. That nod contained an unspoken tacit understanding and trust, like moonlight embracing all things, like the galaxy guiding the way.

The composure and pride of the head priestess were, at this moment, as beautiful as the brightest star on the Savage continent.

Frost Mage Lin Shiyun stood half a step behind Shen Xun'er. It wasn't that she was intentionally standing so close, but the tsundere instinct of the Frost Mage made her unwilling to be too far away, yet she still maintained a proper distance in front of the head priestess.

Her silver-white hair shone like snow in the sunlight, and her ice-blue pupils reflected the stone tablet at the village entrance carved with "Guangming Village." The corners of her mouth curved slightly—not a cold smile, not a bitter smile, but a light, shallow smile that only she knew, like a warm current surging beneath the ice.

The new mage robe the Frost Mage wore had been rushed to completion by Rune Forgemaster Xu Mohan. The ice-blue silk fabric clung to her tall, slender figure, outlining her stunning waist-to-hip ratio in full view.

Her slender waist was like a willow branch, but the curves above her waistline were breathtakingly full, and the fabric of the mage robe was stretched into graceful curves at that spot.

Her long legs were faintly visible through the slit in the hem of her robe, her jade-white skin shimmering with a cold and stunning luster in the sunlight, like a white jade statue bathed in morning light; every curve exuded a beauty that made it impossible to look away.

She felt Wang Sheng's gaze land on her, her earlobes turned slightly red, and she quickly turned her head away, pretending to look at the newly completed defensive wall.

"What are you looking at? Haven't you seen a Frost Mage before?" Her voice was still cold, but the tail end of it was softer than before by more than just a little.

Su Mengyao stood beside the spiritual fields. The Nature Druid had rushed to the edge of the three acres of expanded spiritual fields almost immediately, her emerald-green hair cascading down like a waterfall, tears shimmering in her emerald eyes.

She crouched at the edge of the spiritual fields, thrusting her hands into the new soil tilled by spiritual power, feeling the concentration of spiritual energy and the texture of the soil. Her expression was like a mother caressing a newborn baby, so gentle it made one's heart ache.

"The concentration of spiritual energy is three times higher than before..." Her voice trembled, not from sadness, but from excitement.

"Three acres of spiritual fields... I can plant golden sun flowers, jade heart herbs, frost moon orchids... I can plant all the spiritual flowers in them now..."

She stood up and turned to look at Wang Sheng, tears and smiles interweaving in her emerald eyes, just like sunlight dancing on the surface of a spring lake.

The curvaceous and soft Nature Druid stood at the edge of the emerald-green spiritual fields, her emerald-green hair cascading to her waist, her whole body exuding a fragrance mixed with flowers and spiritual energy.

Sunlight spilled onto her, as if gilding her with a golden-green halo, her porcelain-white skin showing a faint hint of green.

Her curves were as soft and beautiful as a landscape painting, and as she moved, her skirt fluttered, revealing a glimpse of a fair, tender ankle, soul-stirring and captivating.

"Wang Sheng," she called his name, her voice filled with tears and laughter, "We have our own village now!"

Zhao Linger had already darted up to the gatehouse at the village entrance. The Spirit Sound Master's movements were as agile as a little monkey; she climbed the three-meter-high gatehouse in a few quick moves and stood on top of the gatehouse, waving downwards.

Her petite figure was like a cheerful little bird in the sunlight, her baby face smiling with eyes curved into crescents. The Spirit Sound Master's voice was as crisp as a silver bell, piercing through the entire village.

"Everyone, everyone! Guangming Village is officially established! From now on, we are people with a village! We are no longer a tent tribe!"

She hopped down from the gatehouse, landing lightly on the ground. The contrast between her baby face and her devilish figure was particularly striking in the sunlight.

Her waist was so thin it could be gripped with one hand, yet her breasts and hips were round and full, forming an extreme contrast.

The light, agile posture unique to a Spirit Sound Master made every one of her movements look like a dance, as if a joyful sprite were spinning at the village entrance.

She lunged forward to stand in front of Wang Sheng, tilting her little head up, her eyes shining brightly.

"Chieftain! My Spirit Sound Soothing Rune was carved onto the beast pen! Did you see it? I designed it!"

"I saw it," Wang Sheng said with a smile, ruffling her little head. "Impressive."

Zhao Linger's face flushed red instantly. The way the Spirit Sound Master blushed was completely different from the Frost Mage; it wasn't the contrast within coldness.

Instead, it was like the satisfaction and shyness of a small animal being petted, two blushes appearing on her baby face, her soft hair left messy by his ruffling.

"You, don't rub my head! My hairstyle is ruined!"

She protested with her mouth, but her feet did not retreat; she even stood slightly on tiptoe, as if enjoying the warmth of that hand.

Murong Xue stood beneath the newly completed defensive wall. The Holy Light Knight had been the first to charge up the city wall, walking a full circle along the three-meter-high earthen stone wall, inspecting the sturdiness of every battlement and every section of the wall.

Her silver armor shone like a mirror in the sunlight, and her brown ponytail fluttered in the wind. Her fit and powerful figure stood on the city wall like a heroic statue, her body sculpted and fit.

Her chest and hips were full without lacking a sense of power; the curves beneath the silver armor were like an armored goddess forged by sunlight, every step carrying the fortitude and strength unique to a knight.

"The quality of the defensive wall is not bad," she said, jumping down from the city wall and landing in front of Wang Sheng, her silver armor emitting a crisp sound of metal clashing.

"But if the Beast Tide comes again, three meters might not be enough. The impact force of the Rhino King requires a wall of at least five meters to block it."

"We can upgrade it later," Wang Sheng said.

"Mm." Murong Xue nodded, her brown ponytail swaying gently behind her shoulder.

The way she looked at Wang Sheng had changed from that of a comrade-in-arms to something deeper, the softness hidden beneath her resolute face slightly emerging in the sunlight.

"Before the next Beast Tide comes, I will ensure that everyone can hold this wall."
