648: Only in this way can the team members become even better.

Fang Qiang and the others had already changed their clothes and were using wooden sticks to prop them up near the fire to dry.

They had no fresh water, and since the clothes were soaked with seawater, they couldn't be washed, only dried by the fire for now.

Military Doctor Shen glanced at Xiao Niannian, then drank the cold medicine and ginger tea.

He instantly felt warmer.

Brother Lu and Niannian truly deserve to be husband and wife; they are equally ruthless!

Military Doctor Shen complained inwardly.

"The fish soup is ready. You can start eating."

Xiao Niannian called out to them.

The rice was also ready.

Everyone took out their metal lunchboxes and immediately started filling them with rice.

When they wanted to drink water, they realized that all the water in their military canteens was gone.

"Drink the fish soup."

Seeing what they were doing, Xiao Niannian spoke up.

"From now on, you must also figure out your own source of fresh water."

The dozen or so Team Members looked at Xiao Niannian, their eyes filled with shock.

Captain Xiao is indeed just as formidable as Captain Lu!

"Alright."

Military Doctor Shen was glad he brought some tools; he could use seawater to make fresh water later, although the process would be a bit slow.

He estimated that it would only be enough for them to drink each day, not enough for cooking rice or dishes.

"I've checked, there are many coconut trees over there, and the coconuts on them are ripe. You can climb the trees to pick the coconuts and use them for fresh water. However, for the water you drink regularly, you'll still need to convert seawater into fresh water..."

Military Doctor Shen gave Xiao Niannian a thumbs-up.

If Brother Lu were here, he would definitely complain a few times.

This couple was truly cut from the same cloth. They came here to be Instructors and officers, but now they have also become assessment subjects. The only difference is that they assess the Womens Team members, while Xiao Niannian assesses them.

Although he complained inwardly, he strongly agreed with Xiao Niannian's measures. Only this way can the Team Members become even better.

No matter when or what problem you encounter, do not complain; find a way to solve it and complete the mission perfectly.

Just like a few days ago in that small town.

Even though they knew some things were impossible, in order to find those comrades, Brother Lu and Niannian went to every family... "Are you praising me?"

"Yes."

Military Doctor Shen answered with a firm tone.

The other Team Members listened to Military Doctor Shen's words, lowered their heads, and quickly ate their meal.

However, the fish that Captain Xiao cooked—some spicy, some plain—tasted absolutely wonderful.

The crabs were also extremely delicious.

Even though they were here for assessment, they were still able to eat quite a few good things.

Xiao Niannian looked at the dark clouds not far away and spoke.

"It's going to rain."

Military Doctor Shen raised his head and looked into the distance.

Xiao Niannian had finished eating, and she walked toward a cave not far away.

This was something she had ordered people to dig in advance.

The weather on the island is unpredictable. Normal rainy seasons are fine, but extra caution must be taken during thunderstorms. Although this is a training assessment, she would be fully responsible if any casualties occurred.

The other Elite Team Members were eating. Hearing Captain Xiao's words, they looked into the distance, saw the dark clouds flying toward them, and noticed large waves rising on the nearby sea.

"It is indeed going to rain."

"Everyone, take the supplies into the cave."

Xiao Niannian turned on the walkie-talkie and instructed the Instructors to watch the situation.

"Heavy rain is expected within the hour. Tell all Team Members to find a cave for shelter. Do not leave the cave until the rain stops..."

"class one received."

"class two received."

"class three received."

The squad leaders of the various classes immediately responded, calling for their Team Members to head to the nearest cave.

When Meng Ning and her group were searching for their target, they had also found a few caves. Now, hearing that it was going to rain and they needed to take shelter, Meng Ning discussed it with the Team Members, and they went to the nearest cave.

Just a few minutes after entering the cave, heavy rain began outside.

"Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh."

Rumble, rumble, rumble.

The torrential rain fell instantly, so heavy it was as if a large hole had opened in the sky.

"Heavens, this rain came down way too fast."

"If Captain Xiao hadn't notified us via the walkie-talkie, we definitely would have been soaked."

The rain came and went quickly; half an hour later, it stopped, and the sun came out again.

Xiao Niannian checked her watch and decided to go up the mountain to observe the Team Members' situation.

Half an hour of rain made the paths on the island even harder to traverse.

But for Xiao Niannian, it posed no difficulty. She walked quickly for half an hour and saw the class three people outside a cave over there.

She heard the Team Members talking from afar.

"The rain has stopped now, let's hurry up and look for the target..."

"It looks like it shouldn't rain again for a while."

Xiao Niannian climbed a tree and watched them begin searching the surroundings.

"Ah."

Suddenly, someone stepped on a trap mechanism, got caught in a net, and was hanging upside down from a tree.

"There are traps here too."

"Be careful, everyone."

"Quickly get her down."

Someone took out a small knife and cut the rope forcefully.

The other Team Members grabbed the rope, intending to rescue the person.

After several minutes, the Team Member who had been hanging upside down was rescued.

"Everyone, be careful."

"Look quickly, there's something in that tree."

Someone immediately climbed the tree, and just as they were about to reach the top, a net suddenly dropped down from above.

Seeing the net, this person immediately slid down, but then several branches shot out from all directions.

"Ah."

The tips of these branches had been rounded; if they had been sharp, they surely would have stabbed her and drawn blood.

The Womens Team Members found that they had some red and purple dye on their bodies.

"I didn't expect there to be so many traps in these mountains."

"Could there even be landmines?"

In some of the training they had participated in before, even wilderness survival training, they were just not given food and had to search the mountains or find a place where supplies were stored.

Unexpectedly, the Special Forces Brigade's wilderness survival training involves all sorts of traps, making it impossible to guard against them all.

"Let's boil the water from the basin and pour it into our military canteens... Tomorrow, we still need to convert seawater into fresh water, otherwise, we won't have any fresh water to drink for the next few days..."

Xiao Niannian listened to their words and nodded in satisfaction.

Over the course of a few hours, Xiao Niannian visited all three classes to observe, and the situation in each class was similar.

When it rained, they had placed their yellow basins outside the cave, and now everyone's canteen was full of water.

Xiao Niannian thought of a scheme.

She turned on the walkie-talkie.

"cave one calling."

"Received. cave one, please speak."

"After they fall asleep tonight, find a way to take their supplies..."

"Received. Guaranteed to complete the mission."

By past ten o'clock at night, the Team Members had eaten and left two people to stand guard and keep watch.

Xiao Niannian and the Instructors crept over. The two sentinels might have been able to handle other Team Members, but when facing Special Forces Instructors like Xiao Niannian and the others, they didn't notice a thing and were knocked unconscious immediately.
