714: Now that their junior sister has come along, they've all fallen out of favor.

Hearing Xiao Niannian's words, Old Comrade Lei laughed.

"You are right. Your master was just a bit worried. Your master is getting old now, and he just wants to see all of you settle down and establish careers."

Old Comrade Lei knew that Xiao Niannian and Lu Jing were married.

"Oh, right, your master also prepared a wedding gift for you and Lu Jing. It's in the Capital City. When you take leave, go back to the Capital City. Your master will give it to you."

"Thank you, Master."

Thinking that Lu Jing was the husband of his last disciple, Old Comrade Lei was extremely happy.

He and Lu Jing had known each other for many years. That boy, Lu Jing, was the most capable among the younger generation. He used to think that if he had a Granddaughter, he would let Lu Jing marry her Granddaughter.

Of course, he was just dreaming!

He never expected it to actually come true now.

Niannian was not his biological Granddaughter, but his last disciple was just as important as a biological Granddaughter.

"You are now my last disciple. If you ever need your master's help in the future, speak up anytime. Don't keep quiet about things like you used to..."

Old Comrade Lei looked at Xiao Niannian, liking her more the more he looked.

"Yes."

"Niannian, are you really not planning to follow your master to study medicine? If you study medicine, you will definitely become even better than your master..."

It would truly be a waste for such a good apprentice not to study medicine.

Studying medicine can save more common people.

"Master, my ambition is not here. However, I have learned all the medical books you asked me to read, as well as what Senior Apprentice Shen taught me..."

Hearing Xiao Niannian's words, Old Comrade Lei felt a little regretful.

He didn't understand why Niannian only wanted to be a Special Forces Soldier. Although a Special Forces Soldier is impressive, and a Special Forces Female Team Captain is very impressive, being a doctor can save more people. It would also be better for Niannian's future.

Just like Shen Mo, he wanted to be a Special Forces Soldier, and after learning medical skills, he went to the Special Forces.

Niannian could be like him too!

"Master, I just want to make our Special Forces stronger!"

Xiao Niannian did not say anything else.

There would be a war soon. There were some things she couldn't say! She had tried to say them before, but nothing came out, and her body would become weak.

So she could only explain herself using these words.

"Alright, you have your aspirations, and your master won't force you. But you must continue studying medicine in the future. I will make a plan for you. Your comprehension is excellent... it won't affect your normal work..."

"I will listen to Master."

Hearing Xiao Niannian say this, Old Comrade Lei smiled happily.

"Hahaha."

The apprentices outside were extremely surprised to hear their master's loud laughter.

Since their master gained Niannian as his last disciple, his laughter has increased. They hadn't heard their master laugh so happily in a long time.

Sure enough, now that they have a Little Junior Sister, they have all fallen out of favor.

They had all prepared gifts for their Little Master, but they hadn't brought them along.

"Master, how long will you stay here?"

"I was originally planning to return today, but your eldest brother hasn't woken up yet. I will only return to the Capital City after he wakes up and his condition stabilizes. I have already asked someone to call the higher-ups; I will go back two or three days later..."

"Thank you, Master."

Old Comrade Lei looked at Xiao Niannian and asked.

"How many days of leave did you request this time?"

"I requested a week of leave, but the Captain and the others said that if I need to extend it, I can extend it anytime, and they will approve the leave slip immediately..."

Hearing his apprentice's words, Old Comrade Lei nodded. He knew that Niannian, this little apprentice, was a treasure in the Special Forces Brigade.

Captain Chen, Political Commissar Li, and some other Commanders have argued many times. People from other units wanted to transfer Niannian over.

But Captain Chen and Political Commissar Li have consistently refused. Moreover, the Special Forces Brigade now has its first Womens Detachment, and the Little Apprentice is the Female Team Captain, so they can't let her leave now.

"Your Senior Apprentices are skilled in medicine, but except for Senior Apprentice Shen, whose martial arts are excellent, the others, although they trained in the Military Unit for a year or two, their fighting skills are still lacking. Your master plans to send them to your Special Forces Brigade in batches. You should draw up a training plan, training them for three months each time, to properly train them up..."

"Yes."

Old Comrade Lei was even happier to hear the Little Apprentice agree without hesitation.

"These are the books I brought for you. Look through them carefully these days. With your Senior Apprentices watching over things here, you should go rest first..."

This Little Apprentice of his is an extremely kind person. She would rather exhaust and trouble herself than trouble others.

The fact that she called him this time meant the Little Apprentice knew she couldn't perform such a surgery alone, or that the success rate wouldn't be highest. With him there, plus the Little Apprentice, success was guaranteed.

Actually, the Little Apprentice could succeed on her own, but the people here wouldn't trust her.

"Master, I'm not tired right now. I'll spend some time with my mother and the others first, and then go rest if I get sleepy."

"Alright, your master will go rest for a while too. I'm getting old and can't stay up late anymore."

"Master, why don't I cook you a delicious meal?"

Xiao Niannian recalled that her master had previously asked her to cook a meal.

Hearing the Little Apprentice's words, Old Comrade Lei agreed.

The next chance like this might not come for another year or two.

Anyway, the other apprentices were all here. Coincidentally, he also wanted to cook. Since he had just accepted his last disciple, he wanted to show off his skills and let the Little Apprentice know that his cooking was also excellent.

As soon as Old Comrade Lei mentioned it to Director Yun, Director Yun immediately made arrangements.

He had already arranged the meals.

This was Old Comrade Lei! When they saw him, they had to call him a Leader.

Now that Old Comrade Lei was willing to perform surgery in their hospital and let them observe the process to learn, it was an excellent opportunity for them.

Now that Comrade Xiao Niannian was Old Comrade Lei's Little Apprentice, and with the matter of saving Comrade Xiao Hongjun, their hospital could maintain more contact with Old Comrade Lei and Comrade Xiao Niannian in the future.

If Old Comrade Lei could send an apprentice to work at their hospital, that would be even better.

They were severely short of staff here. He had submitted many reports before, but while the people sent had medical skills, the level of medical skill possessed by Old Comrade Lei's apprentices wasn't something that could be easily transferred.

Xiao Niannian and Old Comrade Lei went to the small cafeteria. This cafeteria was specially for cooking meals for certain comrades.

Xiao Niannian knew Old Comrade Lei liked spicy food, so she made Stir-fried Beef with Chili and Stir-fried Pork with Chili.

Old Comrade Lei also made Poached Sliced Fish in Hot Chili Oil and Small Pan-fried Chicken.

He originally wanted to make a few more dishes, but Xiao Niannian said today was too exhausting, and tasting two dishes would be enough. When they returned to the Capital City later, she would ask her master to cook a whole table of dishes for her.

Old Comrade Lei happily agreed.

"You guys are benefiting from your Little Junior Sister today..."

Old Comrade Lei looked at his other apprentices.

"Yes, Little Junior Sister. It's been a long time since Master cooked for us."
