15: Chapter 15 Master Roshi?!

After saying that, the two bare, unblinking bear cubs were picked up by Su Mo and tossed outside the cave.

By the time Su Mo finished cleaning the inside of the cave and came out, the two bear cubs were already nestled beside the mother bear, whining unconsciously.

“Yo~ We meet again. It seems this is the Will of Heaven!”

Su Mo happily sent off the two cute cubs, then thoroughly plucked the entire bodies of the two Black Bears clean, casually stripped a tree, and brought everything into the cave.

There were a few cracks in the top of the cave, allowing light to shine in and providing ventilation.

So Su Mo wanted to try the taste of barbecue. Although there were no seasonings, it made up for the regret he had before his Transmigration.

The thick bear hide was spread beneath him. He occasionally flipped the four roasted whole bears over the fire beside him. The fat inside the bear meat was rendered out by the fire, dripping into the flames with a sizzling sound and emitting an enticing aroma of meat.

Su Su squatted by the fire, her nose twitching, her eyes fixed on the flames. It was hard to tell if she was curious about the fire or if she was craving the golden-brown roasted bear meat.

Since the two small bears had just been born, their skin was tender and couldn't withstand the fire, so they quickly cooked through.

Su Mo took one down and placed it in Su Su's bowl, while he enjoyed the other. As for Hearts Eye's share, forget it; it was like a monk and wouldn't touch any meat.

Just as the golden-brown, juicy bear meat was about to enter his mouth, the soft voice of an elder suddenly sounded in Su Mo's ear.

“Little friend, could you spare a bite of this delicacy for me?”

“Holy crap!!”

Su Mo trembled violently from the fright, immediately breaking out in goosebumps. His body shot up, he scooped up Su Su, and retreated from the spot, vigilantly staring at where he had just been sitting.

Using the firelight, he saw an old man with white hair and beard standing next to his previous spot, looking at him with a beaming smile.

“Turtle Immortal?!”

Su Mo widened his eyes, staring incredulously at the strange old man before him.

This old man, leaning on a cane, was only about 1.5 meters tall, but he carried a green tortoise shell on his back that took up two-thirds of his height. The shell looked incredibly thick and emitted a faint green light, flickering with the old man's breathing.

The four limbs extending from the shell were thin and small, making one worry if he could support the heavy shell.

“Little friend, you jest. Although I have lived a little longer, I cannot be called an Immortal.”

“Little friend can just call me Old Turtle.”

Although this Turtle Spirit presented a harmless appearance, Su Mo still dared not relax his guard or act rashly.

He couldn't sense the depth of this old man's power at all. When facing the Ink Snake in the lake, at least he could feel a threat to his life.

What shocked Su Mo even more was that this old man could actually speak human language!

Although he didn't know if a third-tier creature could speak human language, he, a second-tier creature, certainly couldn't. This old man must be third-tier, or even above the third-tier.

Su Mo's pupils slightly contracted. His nearly seven-meter-tall body subtly shielded Su Su and Hearts Eye. As soon as things went wrong, he would fight for a sliver of hope for Hearts Eye to take Su Su and flee.

Old Turtle seemed to notice his nervousness, so he slowly stroked his beard and said with a smile:

“Little friend, there's no need to be nervous. I once met your parents.”

Hearing this, Su Mo trembled and revealed a look of suspicion:

“Parents? Senior knows our origins?”

“I know a little, but this old man cannot say. You will know when the time is right.”

Old Turtle smiled mysteriously, and his figure instantly appeared soundlessly beside Su Mo. Su Mo's pupils constricted, preparing to strike the Old Turtle with all his might.

However, he discovered in horror that he couldn't even move a single finger at that moment.

Old Turtle chuckled and patted Su Mo's calf. Only then did Su Mo feel the physical restraint dissipate.

“This old man holds no hostility; I merely came to see the little friend.”

Old Turtle slowly sat down on the bear hide cushion nearby, familiarly picked up the Roasted Suckling Bear that Su Mo hadn't eaten yet, and took a bite.

“Not bad, not bad. The roasted meat the little friend made truly has quite a flavor!”

Seeing this, Su Mo simply sat down too, tore off a piece of crispy-on-the-outside, tender-on-the-inside bear meat, stuffed it into his mouth, and chewed until the oil oozed out.

There was nothing he could do. This Old Turtle's strength was too terrifying. Compared to him, Su Mo was like a newborn baby, even though he was indeed only three months old now.

Since this Old Turtle said he had no hostility, Su Mo might as well see what he wanted.

Old Turtle and Su Mo both seemed to be waiting for the other to speak first. The atmosphere gradually became tense, punctuated only by the continuous chewing sounds of one turtle and two foxes.

“Little friend...” Old Turtle broke the silence first, pulling a gourd out from his shell. “It's no fun just eating meat without drinking wine. Come, try the Spirit Fruit Wine this old man brewed himself...”

Before he could finish, Su Mo interrupted.

“Senior, I am still a three-month-old child. I can't drink alcohol.”

Old Turtle's outstretched hand froze in mid-air. He paused, then looked up at Su Mo, who was seven meters tall and towering over him.

He then gave an embarrassed laugh and prepared to retract the gourd:

“This old man was presumptuous...”

“Ah~ Senior, I was just kidding.”

Su Mo grinned, revealing the cunning smile unique to foxes, and quickly reached out to take the gourd.

“What three-month-old fox is this size?”

As he spoke, he prepared to open the gourd, which was smaller than his thumb, but he couldn't grasp the stopper for a long time, making him angry enough to try throwing the whole gourd into his mouth.

“Wait, little friend!”

Old Turtle hurriedly stopped Su Mo's action. He performed a Hand Seal, and the gourd, originally the size of a thumb, instantly grew to the size of Su Mo's two palms.

Su Mo held the suddenly enlarged gourd, his eyes wide and round:

“Senior, your gourd can change size?!”

“Isn't this just like a Cultivator's Magic Treasure!”

Seeing this, Old Turtle stroked his beard proudly:

“The little friend is young but possesses extraordinary insight.”

“This gourd was taken by me from a Qiankun Vine on the highest peak of the Ten Thousand Beast Mountain Range, and was refined over forty-nine days of continuous tempering.”

“This gourd is comparable to the Storage Magic Treasures of those Cultivators, capable of holding enough water to fill an entire lake.”

Su Mo didn't pay attention to the Old Turtle's boasting about his gourd. Instead, he was curious about the information revealed in his words and couldn't help but ask him.

“Senior, are there really Cultivators in this world?”

“Hmm? Doesn't the little friend know?”

“Then the Cultivator's Magic Treasure you just mentioned...”

Su Mo quickly gave a strained laugh and scratched his head:

“Senior, please forgive me. I only heard some things from other animals by chance and don't know much.”

Old Turtle nodded thoughtfully, his face still smiling, wrinkles bunched up together.

“Very well, then this old man shall tell the little friend about it.”

Su Mo and Hearts Eye beside him immediately perked up their ears, listening carefully to the Old Turtle's explanation.

“Little friend, do you know where we are right now?”

“Ten Thousand Beast Mountain Range?”

Su Mo replied tentatively, having only just learned this from the Old Turtle's words.

“That's right, the Ten Thousand Beast Mountain Range.”
