2: Chapter 2 Wild Growth
Su Mo clumsily used his claws to roll a leaf into a funnel-shaped bowl.
The leaf was very large, so the bowl it made was naturally not small either, roughly the size of an adult's palm.
Although the bowl was large, Su Mo didn't dare to put too much porridge in it, only pouring a small mouthful.
After all, this little thing wouldn't know how to sip from the edge!
If there was too much porridge and she accidentally buried her head in it and drowned, it would be a laughingstock.
Su Mo held the bowl containing a mouthful of white porridge with both paws and brought it to the little fellow's mouth.
She immediately leaned in impatiently, her pink little tongue licking and eating the porridge.
Seeing the little fellow eating so sweetly, Su Mo summoned a bowl for himself after she finished.
Holding the porridge with both paws, he took a sip. Once the white porridge entered his mouth, his body felt like parched earth meeting sweet rain; a warm current spread from his stomach to his entire body, making him feel warm and very comfortable.
"This white porridge isn't bad at all!"
Regarding the skill he had just looked down upon, he could only say now—it's great!
Sipping the porridge, he used one claw to tap the lottery button on the 'Talent' wheel.
He was now somewhat looking forward to what good things the 'Talent' wheel could give him.
The wheel spun rapidly, eventually coming to a slow stop on a black question mark.
The black question mark continued to grow larger before Su Mo's eyes, finally turning into a black stream of light that merged into his body.
[Ding! Congratulations to the host for obtaining the Talent: Savage Growth]
[Talent: Savage Growth]
[Effect: Enhances digestive capacity, capable of absorbing 99% of the energy from substances. All energy is used to improve the physique. Physical growth can break through species limitations.]
[Note: On that day, humanity finally remembered the terror of the titans.]
Just as Su Mo finished reading the talent description, he suddenly felt a burning sensation in his stomach.
His stomach seemed to turn into a bottomless pit; the white porridge he had just drunk was digested in a heartbeat, turning into the purest energy that flooded his limbs and bones, causing his body temperature to gradually rise.
This process lasted for about ten minutes before gradually fading away.
When Su Mo pushed himself up on all fours, he was surprised to find that his body was much stronger than when he had first transmuted.
Not only that, but his size, which was originally similar to the Little White Fluff-ball, had now clearly grown a bit.
"This talent... is a perfect match for Infinite White Porridge!"
Su Mo looked at the System light screen, the excitement in his heart unable to settle for a long time.
He immediately summoned another bowl of white porridge and gulped it down in a few mouthfuls.
The familiar burning sensation in his stomach returned. He could clearly feel every drop of porridge being converted into power, strengthening his entire physique in all aspects.
Feeling his strength continuously growing, Su Mo couldn't help but want to summon a third bowl... suddenly, he felt something gently bumping against his shoulder.
Turning his head, he saw the Little White Fluff-ball nudging him repeatedly.
The little fellow stared intently at the leaf bowl, her amber eyes full of urgency, and a hurried "wuwu" sound coming from her mouth.
Su Mo was stunned for a moment, then chuckled helplessly:
"You little thing, you're still not full?"
This little fellow had just drunk five mouthfuls of porridge; logically, she should be full!
Moreover, according to the dog-feeding methods he had learned before, puppies don't know when they're full, so you shouldn't feed them too much, or they might eat themselves to death.
"No, you can't eat any more."
Hearing this, the Little White Fluff-ball spun around in anxiety, tilting her head and letting out a coquettish whimper.
That pitiful little look instantly made Su Mo surrender.
"Alright... just one last mouthful."
He shook his head helplessly, summoned a mouthful of white porridge, and placed it before her.
Seeing her eating so happily, Su Mo couldn't help but think about giving her a name; calling her 'Little White Fluff-ball' all the time wasn't ideal.
He rubbed his chin, pondered for a moment, and came to a conclusion.
How about... naming her Su Su?
Since he didn't know who her parents were anyway, there was no harm in her taking his surname.
"From now on, your name is Su Su."
Hearing this, Su Su suddenly looked up, a grain of rice still stuck to her mouth.
She tilted her little head, her amber eyes blinking as if she were thinking about the meaning of the name.
"Wu~"
She gave a happy cry and buried her head again, focusing intently on her meal.
Seeing her like this, Su Mo couldn't help but laugh.
"What a foodie..."
He then stopped paying attention to the focused Su Su and turned to check his System panel.
Looking closely, he found a personal panel option in a corner of the System light screen. He tapped it with his claw, and the screen changed.
[Host: Su Mo]
[Race: Red Fox]
[Rank: Unranked (1/100)]
[Skill: Infinite White Porridge (Never Expires)]
[Talent: Savage Growth]
The personal panel was as simple as the lottery wheel page, but it did summarize all his current information.
Looking at the race column, he felt a bit depressed.
"So I'm a fox; I thought I was a dog."
Su Mo looked down at his pitch-black fur, then at the words 'Red Fox' on the panel, his face filled with confusion.
"But if I'm a Red Fox, why do I look like a black coal ball?"
He looked at Su Su beside him again and whispered:
"Then this little thing should be a White Fox, right?"
"Were we born from the same mother..."
Just as he was about to complain about his background, his ears twitched slightly, and the whole fox became alert.
He faintly heard the "crunching" sound of someone treading on snow coming from outside the tree hollow.
The sound grew closer and clearer.
As it got closer, he could also hear heavy breathing accompanying the footsteps.
This was clearly a sound that only a large creature could make.
Moments later, the "crunching" sound stopped abruptly!
Su Mo immediately realized that the owner of the sound was probably standing right outside the tree hollow.
His fur stood on end instantly, and his nerves tightened.
He hurriedly pulled Su Su, who was still eating, over, while simultaneously flipping the leaf bowl onto the ground and covering it with some dirt using his claws.
This little thing hadn't realized the danger yet and kept struggling in his arms, letting out dissatisfied whimpers while her little claws kept scratching at his arm.
Su Mo covered her mouth with his paw and warned her in a low voice.
"Don't make a sound!"
The breathing outside the hollow grew heavier, and a thick, foul stench seeped in through the gaps at the entrance.
Slowly, the heavy panting disappeared, and the creature outside seemed to have left... but Su Mo continued to stare intently at the gap in the entrance, his heart in his throat, not daring to relax for a second.
Suddenly, a thick nose covered in black fur and flecks of snow forcefully pushed aside the snow at the entrance and poked in.
That massive, pitch-black nose was larger than Su Mo's head. It twitched continuously, greedily sniffing the air inside the hollow, each breath puffing out a foul-smelling white mist onto his face.
Looking at the nose that was almost pressing against his face, Su Mo's heart nearly stopped beating!
Su Su in his arms stopped struggling as well, staring blankly at the giant nose before her. Her amber eyes were filled with terror, and her little claws tightly gripped the arm protecting her waist.
From the appearance of the nose, it was likely a Black Bear, and its size was astonishingly large—much bigger than the adult Black Bears he had seen in zoos before.
"Damn it! Don't bears need to hibernate?"
"What is this? A blackened polar bear?!"
Su Mo ranted frantically in his mind, but at this moment, he didn't even dare to breathe loudly.
The twitching of the nose stopped...
