295: Chapter 299 Unexpected

"Now, will all 16 contestants please step forward and take your numbers."

"Contestants with the same number will face each other on the battlefield."

Lu Chen and the five others also came out.

Lu Chen pulled a number from the box.

It was number 1.

However, the face of a contestant from a minor race immediately changed drastically.

Why?

He had also drawn number 1.

This meant he would have to fight Lu Chen.

Soon, everyone had received their respective numbers.

An epic battle was about to begin.

The first battle of the second round took place between Lu Chen and a contestant from the Crystal Race.

The latter had also obtained the number 1.

Lu Chen stood calmly in the center of the arena.

His hands were clasped behind his back.

Soon.

The youth from the Crystal Race walked up.

His appearance was similar to a human's.

But his physical structure was completely different.

As soon as he stepped onto the stage, he immediately gave Lu Chen a respectful bow.

"Your Excellency Young Master of the Origin Human Race, I know I am not your match, but I want to try."

"I will attack you with my strongest power. If you can block it, I will concede."

Lu Chen nodded.

This Crystal Race youth.

Possessed a basic strength of 12 Life Planets.

Actually, that wasn't bad at all.

"Fine. Make your move."

The youth nodded.

He activated his racial skill.

"All Things Condense into Crystal."

Immediately, his body began to change.

His entire body became like crystal.

Then, a long crystal protruded from his back.

It swept out like a tail.

Its power was at least four times his basic strength.

Moreover, it was shrouded in a misty brilliance.

It released an assimilating light.

It was as if any matter that came into contact with his tail...

...would be turned into crystal.

The light tail swept across.

His opponent first had to block the force of the tail.

Then the light of assimilation.

This was his strongest attack.

He had achieved countless victories with it.

Boom!

The light tail swept past.

Lu Chen did not dodge.

He caught the crystal with his bare hands.

The misty crystal light swept around like nuclear radiation.

But Lu Chen stood there.

Holding the glowing crystal in his hand.

As if nothing had happened.

The light of assimilation had no effect on him.

Because the power gap between the two sides was too great.

Then he released the light tail.

The Crystal Race youth immediately bowed deeply.

"I concede."

He just had bad luck.

Meeting Lu Chen in the first match.

Otherwise, with his strength...

...he might have lasted a few more rounds.

A burst of cheering immediately erupted from the stands.

But this was too tedious for Lu Chen.

He really wanted to have a hearty, real battle.

His Law of Destiny had already given him a warning.

Predicting that something would happen today.

But what that would be...

...Lu Chen didn't know yet.

He walked to the waiting area.

And started playing games again.

Subsequently, several matches began one after another.

Not a single pair of young leaders faced each other.

It was unknown whether this was a complete coincidence...

...or if the higher-ups were intentionally avoiding it.

Soon.

The second round of matches ended.

53 people entered the third round.

But this was an odd number,

So one person needed to be automatically selected for a bye.

Then the 52 people would fight in pairs.

Lisa had been defeated earlier.

However, Bradak successfully entered the second round.

Everyone began to draw lots again.

As expected.

Lu Chen drew number 1 again.

He advanced to the fourth round without any effort.

Even in this round.

The true experts did not face each other.

But a dark horse appeared in this round.

He defeated Victor of the Demon God Race.

The opponent was a plant-based lifeform named Sackmeet.

He beat Victor...

...like an adult beating a child.

Lu Chen was also somewhat surprised.

"What is the background of this Sackmeet?"

He immediately activated his Eye of Insight talent.

Name: Sackmeet.

Race: Plant.

Realm: A-rank.

Power: 150 Life Planet total mass.

Talent: Plant Manipulation.

This Sackmeet's basic stats were decent.

Lu Chen couldn't help but think.

The third round also passed peacefully.

A total of 26 people won.

Including Lu Chen.

A total of 27 people entered the fourth round.

But Lu Chen needed to fight in this round.

This time, another person got the bye.

Automatically entering the fifth round.

The one who got the bye was Bradak.

This guy's luck was pretty good.

Otherwise, with his strength...

...it would be hard to enter the fifth round.

This time, Lu Chen's opponent was a youth from a vassal race of the Demon God Race.

She had a hint of deathly aura within her body.

Lu Chen could feel it.

Perhaps the opponent was a curse user.

Sure enough.

As soon as the battle began.

She began to chant a strange incantation.

Lu Chen felt a small insect trying to bite through his defense.

Lu Chen gave a cold snort.

He slapped at the insect.

Directly crushing it into a pulp.

"Cough!"

The girl immediately coughed up blood.

Her eyes rolled back.

She lost consciousness.

This insect contained her Soul imprint.

Lu Chen used the Law of Karma to directly break the curse.

So she suffered a backlash.

Lu Chen couldn't help but snort coldly.

This girl had only cursed him.

But the curse wasn't fatal.

So he didn't kill her either.

Afterwards, the winners were determined one by one.

13 people entered the next round.

One of them received a bye.

At this point.

The top 14 of this Cosmic Prodigy Grand Competition were set.

This was all of today's matches.

The next round of matches would begin tomorrow.

Just as everyone was preparing to leave.

A terrifying aura instantly enveloped the entire planet.
