504: Chapter 57 The First Empire of the Human Realm
And the reason he did this...
...was because the mere thought of the Constantine Empire...
...gave him a feeling of extreme danger.
This was the first time in two years.
In the past two years...
...he had used thunderous methods...
...to slay all the old enemies of the Divine Palace.
He had restored the Divine Palace's former glory.
Looking across the entire Eris Empire...
...there was no longer any force that dared to contend with the Divine Palace.
Even the Imperial Family had long since become a paper tiger with no real power.
All major decisions of the Empire were determined by the Divine Palace; the Imperial Family had no say at all.
After becoming the Sword God, Luon had returned to the village once, wanting to take Lu Chen to live with him in the capital of the Blue Moon Kingdom.
But Lu Chen had refused without hesitation.
Instead, he said with a mischievous grin:
"Then give me a few top-tier Cultivation Techniques, little Sword God."
In all the world, the only person who dared to speak to him in such a tone...
...was likely only Lu Chen.
He actually spoke of the position of Sword God as if it were something trivial.
Luon could only return to the Divine Palace helplessly.
The next day, he sent someone to deliver copies of all the Cultivation Techniques to Lu Chen.
Recalling these past events, Luon couldn't help but laugh out loud again.
"That guy is as confident as ever."
He swore secretly in his heart.
"Lu Chen, rest assured. As long as I, Luon, am alive, I will never let anyone disturb your peaceful life. Even the Constantine Empire will be no exception!"
Luon's gaze became bone-chillingly cold once more.
"Pass on my command and reply to the Eris Empire. Whether Lu Chen goes or not is entirely up to his own will. If they want to start a war, then let there be war! My Divine Palace fears nothing!"
Standing to the side, Thorn could only let out a long sigh.
"My lord is still as hot-blooded as ever. But what can be done? Isn't it precisely because of my lord's mettle that the Divine Palace was able to break the records of our predecessors and restore its glory? Back then, we were nothing more than a group of stray dogs wandering everywhere."
Thorn immediately ordered someone to send this firm reply to the Eris Empire.
"Prepare for war."
Luon ordered calmly, slowly standing up from the throne.
"I want the people of the world to see the power of my Divine Palace, to see the power of me, Luon!"
On the other side...
...was the Holy Village.
This name was given because of the "Saint Healer," Lu Chen.
Lu Chen finished his cultivation and slowly opened his eyes.
"You fat cat, get down! How much longer do you plan on being fat? Look at you, you're so fat you can barely walk; you're practically a furball!"
Lu Chen said with a look of disgust to the fat cat napping on top of his head.
He stood up, took Lan Lan down from his head, and held her in his arms.
"Lan Lan, can you believe it? It's already been a year and a half since Luon became the Sword God. If our parents knew from the afterlife, they would definitely be proud of him."
He spoke softly while stroking Lan Lan's sleek, shiny fur.
"Then look at me. I'm clearly a Healer, yet I don't even have the strength to avenge Grandpa. How pathetic."
Inside the Imperial Palace of the Constantine Empire...
"Your Majesty, the Eris Empire in the south has sent an urgent letter of the highest priority."
Seated on the throne was the Emperor of the Constantine Empire.
Shockingly, this Emperor appeared to be a youth of no more than eighteen years old.
"Read it."
The youth ordered in a calm tone.
"As you command, Your Majesty."
The messenger respectfully unfolded the letter and read it aloud:
"To His Majesty of the Constantine Empire: Within our borders, there is a Healer with divine medical skills, the most brilliant in the Human Realm. He possesses the power to bring the dead back to life, a fact I have witnessed with my own eyes. I once invited him to your noble country, but he was extremely arrogant and refused to obey. Instead, he demanded that your country send the patient to ours for treatment."
"I originally intended to forcibly escort him there, but unfortunately, this man has a brother who is the Sword God of the Divine Palace. I am truly powerless to contend with him. As long as the Sword God is alive, I dare not touch his brother in the slightest. I have informed the Sword God of this matter, but he declared that if any Empire dares to interfere with his brother, he will lead the Divine Palace and declare war on them."
"I now present the Divine Palace's reply along with this letter."
The messenger then read aloud the Divine Palace's reply to the Eris Empire in front of everyone.
The entire hall fell into a dead silence once more.
"What do you all think should be done about this matter?"
The young Emperor's gaze swept across the people in the hall.
"Your Majesty! This is a blatant provocation to our Constantine Empire! I believe we should immediately dispatch troops to annihilate the Divine Palace and then forcibly bring that Healer to our country!"
A minister reported indignantly.
Hearing this, the young Emperor's lips curled into a smile.
"How do you know that the Emperor of the Eris Empire is telling the truth?"
"Your Majesty, do you mean that the Eris Emperor wants to use our hands to eliminate his greatest concern? Does the emperor of a mere vassal state have such audacity?" another minister asked, full of doubt.
"Who knows? After all, he is not one of our Constantine people and cannot be easily trusted. Perhaps he has already lost his mind in order to get rid of a Thorn in his side. There may be more to this matter than meets the eye. Go, summon her to find out the truth."
As soon as the Emperor said this...
...everyone in the hall fell silent as cicadas in winter, as if he had said something incredibly outrageous.
