499: Chapter 52 Didn't you hear me? Get out of my way!

Seeing Bob and Renador follow along as well.

Lu Chen knew that Renador's talent was at least Green Rank, or perhaps even higher.

The Heavens Mandate Sect was unlike those sword Dao Sects; it had no special preference for specific types of talent.

So as long as Lu Chen was willing, he could easily pass the assessment.

However, he had absolutely no interest in joining any faction.

He only wanted to stay in the village and live a stable, peaceful life.

If the dimension he originally came from had a soul,

it would likely be cursing him out in a rage at such a thought right now.

"Luon, good luck. I believe no one is your match."

Lu Chen patted Luon on the shoulder, cheering him on.

"Lu Chen, are you really not going in with me?"

Luon felt a bit reluctant to part.

"What would I go in for? Just go in with Renador."

Luon looked at Renador's beautiful face.

His cheeks instantly turned red.

Renador felt a bit embarrassed by his gaze and lowered her head, her face also flushing.

Bob watched from the side, chuckling inwardly.

He had originally felt that it would be for the best if Renador and Lu Chen could end up together.

But Luon seemed decent as well.

After all, people whose talent Rank reached Green or higher were as rare as Phoenix feathers and Dragon horns.

Luon and Renador walked side-by-side into the assessment grounds, with Bob following behind.

Lu Chen, meanwhile, had his own business to attend to.

He went to buy a high-quality space ring for Luon and even stored enough Cultivation resources inside to last him a year.

He didn't want Luon to have to rely on doing chores to exchange for resources after entering the Sect.

After all, within that Dragon-patterned ring, an unimaginably massive fortune was hidden.

When Luon and Renador arrived at the talent testing area, it was already a sea of people.

Under the arrangement of the Sect Disciples, everyone had formed a long queue like a Dragon.

Young boys and girls stepped forward one by one, placing their hands on a crystal ball.

The crystal ball would shift into different colors based on the tester's talent.

On a nearby light screen, the name and Rank of the talent would also be displayed.

The assessment process had already begun.

"Renador, right? Who do you have in your family? I only have Lu Chen as my older brother."

Luon was the first to break the silence.

He didn't look at Renador as he spoke.

He failed to notice Renador's expression change slightly as a flicker of sadness flashed in her eyes.

Seeing that she hadn't responded for a long time, Luon turned his head and happened to meet her sorrowful expression.

He immediately panicked.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry! I didn't mean to pry into your private matters. Please don't be sad."

Only then did Renador snap back to her senses.

"It's fine, it's fine. You don't need to apologize. I just thought of some sad things. I still have an older sister and an older brother, but my parents passed away two years ago."

"Hey! Everyone get out of the way! Let this young master through first!"

An arrogant shout rang out, and both Luon and Renador looked toward the source of the noise.

Luon looked back.

He saw several youths standing behind them, with the one leading them shouting with a face full of impatience.

"Didn't you hear this young master speaking? Get lost!"

Renador frowned and turned around.

"Are you talking to me?"

When the youth saw Renador's features, a frivolous smile immediately appeared on his face.

"Little beauty, what's your name? I'm Kelier, pleased to meet you."

Renador glanced at him with disgust.

Without acknowledging him at all, she turned back and continued waiting in line.

"You dare ignore me?!" Kelier's face instantly turned hideous. "Anyone who dares ignore me, especially women, must kneel before me and beg for mercy!"

This kid was only thirteen years old this year.

According to the Sect's rules, youths under the age of fifteen could participate in the assessment.

As Kelier spoke,

he reached out to grab Renador's shoulder.

At that moment, Luon grabbed his wrist in a firm grip.

"Little brat, get lost. If you dare lay another hand on her, believe it or not, I'll crush your balls!"

Luon had grown up in the slums, and such foul language was part of his everyday speech.

Just now, he had only wanted to act like a gentleman in front of Renador.

Now that he saw this bunch bullying someone, his true nature was instantly exposed.

Renador couldn't help but cover her mouth.

With a "pfft," she burst out laughing.

"Bastard! Let go of me! Do you know who I am?" Kelier roared, exasperated with rage.

Luon couldn't be bothered to deal with him.

"I don't give a damn who you are! Didn't your mother teach you how to be a human? Or are you just a bastard with no father or mother?"

Luon didn't understand the Laws of survival in this world at all; he simply acted on instinct.

Hearing this, the surrounding people couldn't help but erupt into laughter.

BOOM!

A heavy fist smashed ruthlessly into Luon's face.

The massive force sent him flying backward to crash onto the ground, as if he had been struck by a carriage.

"At such a young age, your heart is quite vicious! What will you become when you grow up?"

A youth several years older than Kelier said coldly; it was he who had thrown that punch.

"Brother, thanks for helping me teach this kid a lesson!"

Kelier immediately said in a sycophantic manner.

"Don't embarrass the family, or I'll skin you alive, do you hear me?"

The youth glared at Kelier, making him shrink his neck in fear.
