10: Moon Village 8

Wang Yang and Li Zhao immediately rushed upstairs.

The second floor was empty, with only a few tables.

The next few floors had the same setup and decor, and as the two ran up to the higher floors, a strong smell of blood grew increasingly concentrated.

Wang Yang and Li Zhao exchanged glances, saying nothing as they continued to rush forward.

As soon as they reached the sixth floor, the smell of blood instantly became overwhelmingly thick, the scent assaulting Wang Yang and Li Zhao’s minds.

In the very center of the sixth floor was a vivid red blood pool large enough to hold over ten people, and despite being indoors, the blood pool constantly rippled.

At the very center of those ripples, a white brain floated in mid-air, with layers of clear grooves visible on its surface, just like a human brain, and it pulsed continuously like a human heart.

Beneath the white brain, countless white thin tubes extended, their other ends connected deep within the blood pool, making it impossible for the two to see what was there.

Wang Yang frowned deeply; even he had never seen something so bizarre.

Li Zhao’s face also darkened, because even after reaching the sixth floor, the mission still hadn’t shown as complete, meaning their adventure wasn’t over yet.

“Let’s go, let’s see what’s in the blood pool. We’ve come this far; we have no retreat,” Wang Yang said in a deep voice.

As the two took a few steps forward, a vortex appeared beneath the white brain, and the blood in the pool rapidly diminished, as if something in the middle was absorbing it.

As the blood in the pool gradually decreased, the object connected by the thin tubes beneath the white brain slowly appeared before them.

They were vivid red brains, still emitting warmth, as if they had just been dug out of human bodies.

A pile of brains filled the blood pool, even covering its entire bottom.

Upon seeing this, Li Zhao covered his mouth, nearly throwing up, and Wang Yang’s face was grim, his brows furrowed, mainly because the scene was too disturbing; even if they could kill without batting an eye, they would still feel physiological discomfort.

The brains seemed to move, slowly piling up into a human figure three meters tall; the red brains formed the limbs and body, the white thin tubes resembled veins, and the single white brain formed the head.

A large amount of blood flowed from the gaps between the brains, and this flowing blood quickly covered the entire human brain aggregate.

After completely covering all the brains, the blood suddenly solidified, forming panels that resembled red crystals.

These changes happened in an instant, and the two were powerless to stop them.

The brain aggregate, once formed, charged directly at Wang Yang; the oppressive feeling from its three-meter-tall body was real.

Despite its large size, its speed was incredibly fast, reaching Wang Yang in a few steps and swinging its right fist, composed of individual brains, down at him.

Wang Yang quickly gripped his sword with both hands to block the powerful blow; the force of the punch was unexpectedly great, knocking Wang Yang flying backward with just one strike.

Li Zhao had initially intended to run, but seeing the speed of the brain aggregate, he abandoned that idea.

Li Zhao took out a miniature red hammer from his system space and threw it at the aggregate.

The hammer gradually grew in the air, finally reaching about half a meter in length before smashing hard into the aggregate’s back.

“Crack!”

The part of the aggregate struck by the hammer developed cracks like shattered red glass, but those cracks quickly healed.

As if enraged, the aggregate turned and punched Li Zhao; Li Zhao hardened his hands and clashed with the aggregate, his hands immediately being smashed into strange shapes.

“Don’t hold anything back! If we don’t go all out, we’re really going to die!”

Li Zhao shouted, enduring the pain.

Wang Yang gritted his teeth, took out a blood-red pill, and swallowed it; his entire body began to emit heat.

This was his awakened ability: he could create pills that controlled others, and this pill could also be consumed by himself, which would increase his strength by about half, but he would lose all his strength for the next day.

While the aggregate was hitting Li Zhao, he bit the tip of his tongue, spraying a mouthful of blood onto his long sword; a red light flashed on the sword’s surface, and gripping the sword with both hands, he launched a jumping slash towards the aggregate’s head.

The aggregate was raising its left fist to strike Li Zhao when it sensed danger behind it, so it retracted its fist and blocked its head with its hand.

With a cutting sound, half of the giant’s left hand was severed by Wang Yang’s sword, and several brains in the middle were cut in half.

The giant swung its right hand behind it, and Wang Yang flew out like a kite with a broken string, smashing heavily against the opposite wall.

Wang Yang spat out a mouthful of fresh blood and slowly slid to the ground, exhaling more than inhaling, clearly on the verge of death.

Seeing this, Li Zhao took off running, but how could he outrun the aggregate? The aggregate punched Li Zhao in the back, and Li Zhao experienced Wang Yang’s fate, being knocked to the ground motionless.

A slow footsteps sound came from the stairwell.

“Heh heh, it’s always most satisfying to be the fisherman. This is quite good, two common treasure chests and one high-grade treasure chest.”

Shi Yan slowly walked out of the stairwell.

He had already been in the vicinity when Wang Yang and Li Zhao were forcefully rushing up, just waiting for them to fight to a mutual destruction before appearing to reap the rewards.

The brain aggregate stood still.

“Your strength is quite good. If you submit to my Yue God, I can bestow upon you anything you desire.”

A voice of men, women, old, and young speaking together echoed in Shi Yan’s mind.

Shi Yan raised an eyebrow, a slow smile spreading across his expressionless face.

“What do I desire… Of course, I desire you!”

After Shi Yan finished speaking, he activated Blood Tattooed Transformation with his right hand, and with a giant blood-red arm, he accelerated and lunged towards the aggregate’s head.

“Mere ant… I gave you a chance! Since you don’t cherish it, then die.”

The aggregate, seeing that a negotiation was impossible, immediately raised its remaining right hand and smashed it towards Shi Yan’s head, scoffing inwardly as it saw Shi Yan not dodging, intending to trade injuries.

“Die! How dare a mere ant talk so big.”

The scene of Shi Yan’s brain being smashed, as imagined by the aggregate, did not occur; the swinging right fist passed through Shi Yan’s head as if hitting nothing.

A hand passed through the aggregate’s head; the blood-red panels the aggregate was so proud of offered no resistance.

Shi Yan gently withdrew his right hand from the aggregate’s head.
