28: Medicine Girl's Gift

Lian nodded.

"Next, you can go eat. The staff dormitory is behind the door behind the vending machine on the second floor. You can stay in any room inside."

Everyone looked thoughtful after hearing this.

The staff dinner was the same as lunch, with eight portions of black paste on the restaurant tables.

Several people walked up the stairs to the second floor to eat. This time, Shi Yan bought a portion of rice and braised pork, took it to the side, and began to devour it.

The other players, except Wang Si Yuan who bought a box of rice, all ate the box of black paste in one gulp.

After eating, Shi Yan walked out of the restaurant and headed towards the staff dormitory along the gorgeously decorated corridor.

The staff dormitory had four rows of eight rooms, one room per person, and only one toilet at the end of the corridor.

Shi Yan randomly picked a room and opened its door.

The entire staff dormitory was only five square meters, no different from a coffin.

Shi Yan didn't mind, went in, closed the door, lay down on the bed, and began to ponder.

He had already spent a day in this instance, and it felt very different from previous instances. It seemed instances should also be divided into many different types.

Soon, the next day arrived.

"It's time to make money again."

Shi Yan gently pushed open the door, stretched his muscles and bones, walked into the hall, and then entered Clinic No. 3, for which he was responsible.

"Ding-dong."

The bell signaling a customer's arrival rang.

"Thump... thump... thump..."

A heavy sound of footsteps approached. From the sound alone, one could tell how huge the incoming customer was.

The clinic door was slowly pushed open.

【LV17】

A figure constantly emitting steam appeared. Its shape was like a normal person, but its entire body was composed of various mechanical parts. Judging from the friction sounds continuously emitted by those rotating parts, these parts were probably not just for show.

This time, a steam robot came in. This robot was now moving with robot-like steps, walking step by step towards Shi Yan, finally stopping in front of him.

"Doctor Shi, hello, I need the latest model of gear lubricant."

The robot's high-tech eyes scanned Shi Yan's chest as it spoke word by word.

Shi Yan was also a bit surprised when he first saw this robot. He didn't expect such a wondrous species in the Magic World. He just wondered if this guy, made of unknown metals, would drop abilities.

Shi Yan said with a slight smile.

"No problem, please wait a moment."

Shi Yan lit a crucible placed on the side.

Gear lubricant was just recorded in that book [Basic Medicine Encyclopedia]. It was quite funny; Shi Yan had been a pharmacist for so long, yet this was his first time properly preparing medicine for someone.

Shi Yan continuously added various medicinal herbs to the crucible. The boiling time for each herb was different; some herbs stayed in it the whole time, while others were only in for a few seconds before being immediately scooped out. Finally, a deep black liquid appeared in the crucible.

Although it was Shi Yan's first time preparing a potion, the effect of Slaughter Paradise's items was very powerful. Shi Yan felt that the methods and processes for making every single potion were crystal clear in his mind.

He knew exactly when to add which herb, how to control the heat, how long each herb should be boiled, and the techniques were all very clear.

It was as if Shi Yan had made every potion thousands of times; there was no unfamiliarity in the actual operation.

"Here, this is the gear lubricant you wanted, 3529 magical coins in total."

Actually, it only needed over five hundred magical coins, but Shi Yan raised the price by six times.

Shi Yan put the gear lubricant into a special medicine jar from the pharmacy.

The steam robot said nothing unnecessary, took out the magical coins, placed them on the table, picked up the gear lubricant, and turned to leave.

Shi Yan collected the magical coins. The traditional Chinese medicine cabinets in each clinic were actually special items. They would record which medicinal herbs players had taken out in total, and on the last day of the mission, the prices of these herbs would be collectively settled, and then the players would pay them all at once.

"I didn't expect having too much money to be a kind of trouble."

Shi Yan's lips curved slightly upward, very satisfied with his gains from this mission.

Shi Yan now had tens of thousands of magical coins on him, feeling like he could barely hold them all. Shi Yan decided that after he returned, he would immediately buy a space-type item from the Slaughter Market.

"Ding-a-ling."

Unconsciously, noon passed. Shi Yan pushed open the door and found that several people were missing. Both Wang Jin and Li Li were gone, and Shi Yan understood.

It seemed they couldn't hold on and kicked the bucket.

Wang Kai now only had two legs left, looking not far from being a human stick.

Wang Si Yuan was not much better, with scars all over his body.

The rest of the people were all like this; except for Shi Yan, no one was not seriously injured.

At this moment, a blue-haired woman stood behind the counter in the hall. The woman wore a simple white dress, her face was pure and beautiful, and her lips, eyebrows, and pupils were all the same sky blue.

Lian stood respectfully behind her. Shi Yan guessed that this woman should be the owner of this shop because she had a large [LV48] above her head.

"Dear pharmacists, you have all worked hard. I am the owner of this shop. You can call me Medicine Woman."

Medicine Woman said with a smile.

"Now, let's settle your wages."

Wang Kai was moved to tears. As long as he could return alive, that was enough. Once he returned, he could easily be healed by finding a few people skilled in treatment. At the same time, he also made up his mind that he must learn some skills after returning this time.

Wang Si Yuan was also full of joy. This mission was much harder than the previous ones he had experienced.

Everyone looked delighted upon hearing this.

"Pharmacist Shi, you did very well. You didn't receive a single negative review throughout, so I've decided to give him an extra reward."

The other players looked at Shi Yan in shock after hearing this. Wang Si Yuan also looked at Shi Yan in surprise.

He had previously thought that Shi Yan was just lucky to have received a few good reviews, but it turned out he had received good reviews throughout!

Despite being only LV5, he was so powerful. He would not now think that Shi Yan relied solely on luck or just happened to have good medical skills, because some monsters who came to the clinic were simply looking for trouble, deliberately eating people by giving bad reviews.

Shi Yan walked to Medicine Woman with a humble expression.

"Madam Medicine Woman, I was just lucky, and my success is also inseparable from Mr. Lian's help."

Lian looked at Shi Yan with an expression that said, 'This kid is really sensible.'

Medicine Woman chuckled and didn't say much, just took out something and handed it to Shi Yan.

It was a dark crystal, only the size of a fingernail. Shi Yan took it and examined it.

【Soul Crystal: Can increase soul attribute by 50 points】

Shi Yan's face lit up with joy after seeing it, and he thanked Medicine Woman again. As expected of a LV48 big shot, the items she casually gave were of high value.

"Hehe, you deserve this. Take this item; you can come work here anytime in the future."

Medicine Woman's sky-blue lips curved slightly, and she handed Shi Yan a white piece of paper.

Shi Yan could use this paper to work at this pharmacy.
