59: Served as store manager No. 102
Shi Yan turned and looked towards the other side of the supermarket.
Two large glass walls formed the other side of the supermarket, with a glass door in the middle of the two glass walls.
A 'Temporarily Closed' sign hung on the glass door.
Through the large glass door, the outside environment could be seen; the sunlight outside was bright, and the sky was clear.
In front of the supermarket's large glass door were several meters of downward steps, with two flower beds on either side of the steps, inside which were planted clusters of unknown bright red small flowers.
Below the steps was a large street, and strange-looking creatures walked along the street below the steps.
Shi Yan's eyes lit up as he looked at those creatures; their levels were mostly between ten and twenty, with only a few at level thirty.
Shi Yan walked towards the glass door, gently pushed it open, and tried to step out.
A red light film abruptly blocked Shi Yan, and a striking large character appeared before Shi Yan's eyes.
"[Forbidden to leave the mission area]"
Shi Yan reluctantly withdrew his foot; he had originally wanted to see if there was a chance to hunt some monsters and get some skill drops.
The current Shi Yan was no longer the novice he once was; with the power of a level thirty-plus, Shi Yan was considered a middle-tier resident in the Magic World.
As long as he didn't go too far or make too much of a fuss, it should… it shouldn't be a big deal.
Since he couldn't go open treasure chests, he could only honestly work.
Shi Yan went around to the back of the cashier counter, pushed open the half-open door, and entered the room.
This room was actually a small warehouse, with cardboard boxes stacked inside.
What Shi Yan needed to do was to place the items from these boxes onto the shelves inside the supermarket.
After all the goods were arranged, he went to the glass door and flipped the 'Temporarily Closed' sign to 'Open for Business'.
Then, he sat down grandly in the seat behind the cashier counter and waited.
Soon, the first customer arrived.
A humanoid creature covered in black hair walked in; his face was entirely covered by dense black hair, with only his two black eyes visible.
As soon as the Black Fur Man entered, he roamed around the store, walking back and forth.
At one moment, he picked up a bag of snacks, then shook his head and casually threw it aside.
At another moment, he picked up a bottle of drink, looked at it, shook it, and threw it aside again.
The Black Fur Man kept repeating this process, as if he was curious about everything, yet also dissatisfied with everything.
"Boss! What kind of shoddy shop is this?! Why don't you even have drinks of the 'Mei Dong Niang' brand?!"
Mei Dong Niang was a celebrity in this street, similar to a star in reality.
The Black Fur Man walked up to the cashier counter, roaring unhappily, his two black eyes flashing with a bloody, bloodthirsty light; although Shi Yan couldn't see his face clearly, he could feel his anger at that moment.
"Isn't this what you want?"
A strange smile appeared on Shi Yan's face as he casually picked up a type of Magic World candy displayed on the shelf next to the cashier counter.
"I want something of the 'Mei Dong Niang' brand!"
The Black Fur Man roared, enunciating each word.
Shi Yan first put down the candy, then his right arm suddenly thickened and lengthened, reaching three meters, allowing him to directly touch the Black Fur Man from behind the cashier counter.
A blood-colored large hand with eerie patterns directly squeezed towards the Black Fur Man; the Black Fur Man had no time to react before Shi Yan grabbed his head.
Shi Yan held the Black Fur Man's head with his right hand and lifted him off the ground.
The Black Fur Man was not afraid, but instead said with cold eyes, "It's fine if you don't have Mei Dong Niang brand products, but you dare to treat me like this? I'm going to…"
Before he could finish, Shi Yan's left hand entered Blood Tattooed Transformation, and with a swipe at the Black Fur Man's right arm, his entire right arm fell off.
"Ah ah ah! My arm!"
The Black Fur Man clutched his severed arm with his left hand, wailing heartbreakingly, as black blood spurted from the stump of his arm.
To prevent the Black Fur Man's blood from dirtying the shop, Shi Yan had already used the [Cold Wind] skill beforehand; the Black Fur Man's blood, as soon as it spurted out, was frozen into black ice particles.
"What do you want to do?"
Shi Yan smiled, his eyes bored as he looked at the Black Fur Man.
"Ah ah ah ah ah!"
The Black Fur Man was still wailing heartbreakingly, as if he hadn't heard Shi Yan's words at all.
"If you scream again, it won't just be an arm."
Shi Yan wore a faint smile, his blood-red pupils staring directly at the Black Fur Man.
"Ah… I don't want anything."
The Black Fur Man's shrill cries abruptly stopped; he dared not continue screaming, fearing that Shi Yan would do the same to his neck, and his eyes changed from the previous bloodthirsty and angry look to fawning.
"How can you not want anything? The customer is God; since you have come to my store, I must fulfill your wish."
Shi Yan said sincerely, his face completely showing an expression of 'I'm thinking for you'.
"Here, didn't you want something of the Mei Dong Niang brand? This is the latest Mei Dong Niang candy, and it even has her autograph."
Shi Yan picked up the previous candy with his left hand and put it into the Black Fur Man's remaining left hand.
The Black Fur Man held the candy and looked at it carefully again and again, but couldn't find the so-called autograph anywhere.
"What are you looking at? Do you think I'm lying to you?"
"I am the most honest and trustworthy person."
Shi Yan looked at the Black Fur Man with a gloomy expression.
The Black Fur Man shook his head repeatedly.
"No, no, Manager, you are the kindest, most honest, and most trustworthy person I have ever met."
Upon hearing this, Shi Yan's gloomy face slowly returned to a smile; he looked at the Black Fur Man, nodded appreciatively, and softly said, "You understand kindness, honesty, and trustworthiness."
"Mhm, mhm, mhm."
The Black Fur Man ignored the meaning behind Shi Yan's words and nodded frantically; he only wanted to quickly escape this supermarket and get away from this terrifying human.
Shi Yan slowly loosened his right hand, and the Black Fur Man dropped from the air; the Black Fur Man slowly let out a breath of relief, picked up his severed arm, and turned to leave the supermarket.
"Wait, you forgot to pay."
Shi Yan's voice sounded from behind him.
"Then, how much is it?"
The Black Fur Man stiffly turned around, looking at Shi Yan with fear.
"This is Mei Dong Niang's autographed limited ProMaxPlus edition super collectible candy."
"Charging you twenty thousand magical coins isn't too much, right?"
Shi Yan smiled at the Black Fur Man, a hint of cold light flickering in his blood-red pupils; even though he was just sitting there, he gave the Black Fur Man an extremely terrifying sense of oppression.
Where was Mei Dong Niang's autograph on this candy? Where was it? And limited edition? Didn't you just grab it casually?! Although he didn't understand the string of nouns Shi Yan said afterward, he understood that Shi Yan just wanted to extort him severely.
The Black Fur Man pointed at a pile of identical candies on the shelf next to the cashier counter and cautiously asked, "Are those also limited editions or something?"
"That's not something you should know."
Shi Yan said in a deep voice.
"F*** you," the Black Fur Man cursed Shi Yan fiercely in his heart.
"No… no problem."
The Black Fur Man finally paid twenty thousand magical coins to Shi Yan, wanting to cry but unable to, and only then did Shi Yan let him leave.
