86: power of faith

As Shi Yan continued to smash it with great force, the white light shield quickly began to creak under the immense pressure.

Crack!

With another punch from Shi Yan, the white light shield finally cracked, revealing a tiny fissure.

"No! Stop!"

The old voice no longer held its previous arrogance and superiority.

The old voice continuously screamed in Shi Yan's mind, sometimes pleading, sometimes threatening, but Shi Yan ignored it all, his rapidly swinging arms never stopping for a moment.

More and more cracks extended from that initial fissure, and in the blink of an eye, the entire white light shield was covered in cracks, then, with a snap, it shattered into glistening fragments all over the floor.

Shi Yan raised his right fist again, fiercely smashing it directly into the center of the black stone sculpture's head, sending tiny black stone fragments flying in all directions with immense force.

They left deep little pits on the pristine square floor.

Thump, thump, thump!

Shi Yan's fists consistently struck the same spot on the black stone sculpture, not shifting his position in the slightest.

As the black fragments splattered, Shi Yan could clearly feel the black stone sculpture's head visibly indenting backward.

Cracks appeared from the neck of the black stone sculpture, seemingly on the verge of breaking off.

Shi Yan's eyes narrowed.

"Die!"

Shi Yan tensed his arms, briefly accumulating power in his fists, then unleashed them simultaneously like missiles, smashing into the indented area of the black stone sculpture's head.

Crack!

With another violent sound, the cracks on the black stone sculpture's neck suddenly widened, and the remaining slender connection clearly couldn't withstand Shi Yan's monstrous strength, suddenly breaking.

Whoosh!

The black stone sculpture's massive head, with a diameter of three meters, instantly vanished from above its neck, flying rapidly towards the back of the stone temple accompanied by a sharp whistling wind.

The massive head quickly disappeared from Shi Yan's sight, flying towards the horizon.

"If it weren't for the spatial turbulence weakening 99% of my power!"

"How could you…!"

"Don't do this, you will…"

As the head flew further and further away, the old voice that had been incessantly nagging in Shi Yan's mind suddenly stopped.

Shi Yan quickly ran his hand over the broken neck of the sculpture, and streams of air transmitted into Shi Yan's body; everywhere the air currents passed, there was a warm sensation.

Shi Yan looked at the black mist so close at hand, not having time to see what new ability he had gained.

He immediately prepared to leave the stone temple.

"Thank you."

A slightly younger and sinister voice resonated in Shi Yan's mind.

The voice had a slightly strange tone, androgynous, making it impossible to distinguish if it was male or female, and it sent shivers down one's spine, causing goosebumps to erupt.

A feeling of impending disaster enveloped Shi Yan, his Danger Perception skill was frantically warning him, and his consciousness seemed to slowly become heavier with this voice.

His vision gradually became tinged with black, and the black continued to show signs of expanding.

Shi Yan frowned, and a black orb appeared in the palm of his right hand; the orb instantly tore open a spatial rift, absorbing Shi Yan into it.

A spatial rift quickly appeared, then quickly vanished.

"Hehe, finally out, it wasn't in vain for my painstaking efforts."

A black light flashed on the surface of the headless black stone sculpture, and wisps of chaotic and distorted purple mist drifted out from the broken neck.

The purple mist floated directly in front of the sculpture, slowly coalescing into a humanoid figure with a seductive appearance, revealing attire, and a fiery figure.

She floated lightly in the air, barefoot, her skin fair and tender, her body curvaceous, and her purple hair floated behind her head.

Her face was constantly twisting and changing; one moment she was a beautiful and charming mature woman, the next she transformed into a pure and beautiful young girl, and then again into a graceful middle-aged woman who still retained her charm.

She did not look at where Shi Yan had left, but instead turned her head to look at the tall black stone sculpture.

"Hahaha, this is your end."

The woman's lips curved slightly, her eyes watching with a hint of mockery.

The woman's slender hand lightly traced across the space, and a spatial rift identical to the one torn by Shi Yan's black orb appeared before her; her entire body suddenly dispersed into a cloud of purple mist and flew into the rift.

Through the rift, one could vaguely see another side, a magnificent and strange world.

Shi Yan once again entered that extremely uncomfortable passage, but this time he didn't care, instead closing his eyes in thought.

He could have directly entered Slaughter Paradise just now, but what if he was ambushed if he did that?

He couldn't stay in Slaughter Paradise forever, so he could only use the black orb to escape.

Feeling no abnormality behind him, Shi Yan slightly relaxed; although he still had some strange symptoms, they hadn't worsened at this point.

With a splash, Shi Yan burst out of a fissure, falling onto the floor; Shi Yan endured the discomfort, casually picking up the black orb beside him.

Without any hesitation, he activated Slaughter Paradise and entered it.

After settling a dungeon in Slaughter Paradise, one could choose to return to reality, but to re-enter the Slaughter Space, one had to participate in a dungeon before being able to return to reality again.

After entering Slaughter Paradise, the uncomfortable feeling disappeared, and all the bizarre symptoms vanished, but Shi Yan's tightly furrowed brows did not relax.

He seemed to have accidentally released some strange thing he didn't know the identity of.

It seemed that the old voice hadn't lied to him?

Shi Yan remembered that the old voice had previously told him in his mind not to kill him, that he was sealing something there.

It wasn't his fault that he didn't explain clearly.

Shi Yan quickly dismissed the thought; if it was released, then so be it. As for what bad things it might cause, he didn't care or concern himself with it.

Shi Yan used Slaughter Paradise's scanning system to scan his body and only truly relaxed after finding nothing amiss.

One must still be very vigilant when facing unknown entities.

Shi Yan's mind stirred, and he summoned his ability panel.

Abilities: Power of Faith (Synthesizable), Parasitic Bloodline (Synthesizable)

Shi Yan was slightly stunned looking at the two skills on the panel, not expecting them to be synthesizable.

Shi Yan turned his attention to Power of Faith, and a piece of information transmitted into Shi Yan's mind.

[Power of Faith]

[Effect 1: Can obtain one-thousandth of the Physique and Soul attributes of true believers.]

(Can have five believers; Physique and Soul attributes must both be higher than the believers')

Shi Yan's pupils constricted; the effect of Power of Faith surprised him. Although there was only one effect, anyone with discerning eyes could see how abnormal this skill was.
