47: Chapter 47 Let's get going!

When Brother Jun said this,

the few sharp-witted underlings beside him immediately realized that the person before them was a fierce warrior; if they could befriend him, there would only be benefits in the future.

"Yeah, yeah! Brother Changzheng's skills are peerless; he's definitely going to be a big shot in the future!"

"Brother Changzheng, when you hit the big time, don't you ever forget us!"

While these people were enthusiastically flattering Chen Ze, in the corner of the warehouse, the faces of those women were turning shades of green and white.

They really wanted to say, "You idiots, take a good look! That's the killing god Chen Ze, okay? The real Guo Changzheng is sleeping on the concrete floor!"

Chen Ze didn't want to listen to these people bickering anymore. He raised his hand, and Brother Jun immediately understood, speaking up,

"Quiet down, everyone. Let Brother Changzheng speak."

Chen Ze turned his head to look at Brother Jun and realized that this guy was truly a talent when it came to bootlicking.

"Tell me about the situation inside Liang Kun's Fortress."

"Brother Kun's Fortress?"

Brother Jun was stunned for a moment, hesitated, then lowered his voice and said,

"Actually, Brother Kun did give instructions not to reveal information about our base to outsiders, but since Brother Changzheng is one of our own, of course, it's fine to talk about it."

Speaking of their home base, Brother Jun was instantly full of confidence, his tone filled with arrogance.

"Brother Kun's Fortress is awesome! It's an entire commercial parking garage, thousands of square meters! It's countless times better than this crappy warehouse!"

"We have nearly a hundred people now, and we're expecting a huge boom recently. By then, we might even break a thousand!"

"Thousands of people?"

Chen Ze frowned slightly upon hearing this, looking at Brother Jun with some suspicion.

"With that many people, what is Liang Kun using to support them? Does he have that many supplies?"

"Brother Kun naturally has his own ways. But then again, most of those who joined later are just cannon fodder. Just giving them some leftovers to keep them alive is enough. Think of them as a herd of livestock that can work; it doesn't cost many supplies at all."

These words were said lightly, without a shred of pity. Clearly, this rule where the lives of the lower class were as cheap as grass was already an open secret among the core members of the Hung Hing Society.

After saying this, Brother Jun quickly switched back to a flattering smile,

"But Brother Changzheng, you're different. You have real skills. Once you go back, you'll definitely become a favorite by Brother Kun's side!"

Chen Ze listened quietly, his face devoid of any expression.

I'm afraid those who defected to Liang Kun never expected that the utopia in their eyes was just a trap set by someone else.

"Tell me about the Fortress's defensive strength. Also, what is Liang Kun's current strength?"

He continued to ask.

Brother Jun was genuinely in a tough spot this time. He had only been a squad leader for a day, and as for the Fortress's defensive tasks, only Brother Kun's trusted aides could handle them; he had no qualifications to know that.

"To be honest, Brother, I really don't know Brother Kun's strength; I've never seen him fight. But if you're worried about the Fortress's safety, then you're worrying for nothing."

"Oh? How so?"

Chen Ze seized the opportunity to press further.

"Our Fortress has over a dozen large machines. For those F-class zombies, a single shovel scoop can crush a whole group of them! Wouldn't you say that's safe?"

Speaking of this, Brother Jun subconsciously leaned closer to Chen Ze, one hand covering the corner of his mouth, deliberately lowering his voice, looking like he was sharing exclusive, secret information.

"I only heard this, it's internal confidential information, so you absolutely must not tell anyone else!"

"Brother Kun's talent seems to be at the SS level! And it's an extremely rare mechanical control talent! In short, it's super, super strong!"

Just at that moment, Liang Kun, who was over a dozen kilometers away, sneezed violently. He couldn't have dreamed that the subordinates he sent to meet Guo Changzheng were spilling all his secrets to his opponent.

Actually, Chen Ze hadn't expected that this foolish Brother Jun would know so much information about Liang Kun, and that it would be so effortless to get it.

"Do you know any other information?"

Chen Ze tried to squeeze the last bit of value out of Brother Jun, because in his eyes, the other party was already a dead man.

"Huh? Apart from these, there's nothing else. As for the rest, you'll find out slowly after you go there."

Chen Ze nodded slightly, seemingly agreeing with Brother Jun's statement, and then said softly,

"Since that's all, then get ready to hit the road!"

"Hit the road?"

Brother Jun was stunned for a moment.

"Oh? It really is time to hit the road. Our base is still over a dozen kilometers away from here. Taking these women with us means we should leave even earlier..."

Without any warning, without any preparatory movement, not even an afterimage remained for more than an instant.

In the next second, Chen Ze had already left his original position and charged out violently!

The underlings present didn't even have time to blink. Their flattering smiles were still frozen as their pupils suddenly went blank.

A cold glint lit up the warehouse!

The Tang dao unsheathed with a clang, and a streak of snow-bright blade light swept across the crowd.

The first underling couldn't even get a scream past his throat; his body went limp, and he fell straight to the ground.

Immediately following, the second and third flashes of blade light burst out in succession!

Chen Ze's figure twisted and turned, his speed reaching the extreme. He wove through the gaps between them like a ghost, and every time he raised his hand and brought down the blade, it was at a fatal spot.

The neck, the heart, the carotid artery! Not a single deviation!

These combat-level-five losers, whose total attributes didn't even reach ten, couldn't even see his figure, let alone raise their weapons to block or counterattack.

"Puchi! Puchi! Puchi!"

Several muffled sounds of blades entering flesh exploded in rapid succession, short and crisp, without a hint of hesitation.

In less than five short seconds.

The underlings who had been frantically flattering Chen Ze just moments ago all fell stiffly to the ground, and a pool of blood spread instantly.

The entire scene fell into instant dead silence.

Only Brother Jun remained, standing blankly on the spot, his whole body stiff, his limbs cold, his brain completely shut down.

His mouth was still slightly open, the second half of his words about hitting the road lingering on his lips, the flattering smile on his face completely frozen, and only extreme terror remained in the depths of his eyes.

The brothers who were jumping around and making noise just seconds ago were all dead a few seconds later, without a single survivor!

Fast, too fast!

So fast that he couldn't see the trajectory of Chen Ze's blade at all; so fast that he didn't even have time to feel fear before those seven or eight lives were ended.

He was trembling all over, his hands and feet icy, staring fixedly at the tall, upright figure standing amidst the pile of corpses before him, his scalp completely tingling in terror.

At this moment, he finally realized.

The "hitting the road" the other party spoke of wasn't returning to the Fortress at all; it was sending them to the afterlife!

"You... you're not Guo Changzheng. Who... who exactly are you?"

Brother Jun's voice was shaking uncontrollably, his teeth chattering.

Chen Ze held the Tang dao slanted, slowly walking toward Brother Jun.

"Guo Changzheng should have told Liang Kun my name. Didn't he tell you?"

At these words, Brother Jun was suddenly shocked; he finally remembered.

Before leaving, Liang Kun had personally given instructions: Guo Changzheng had a rival, and if there was an opportunity, he should be taken care of as well. That person's Fortress was an old Blockhouse!

"You... you are that Chen... Ze!"

"Congratulations, you got it right! I'll reward you with a blade strike!"

Chen Ze's lips curled into a cold arc, and the moment his voice fell, the blade light suddenly burst forth!

A cold glint flashed, fast to the extreme, not giving the opponent a single chance to react!

A streak of crimson splashed up, a head flew into the air, rolling onto the ground with a rumble, eyes still wide open.

With this, the entire squad was wiped out!
