Chapter 51 The talent who can hand-make explosives, come to your dorm!
A moment later, Qiao Yunge raised her head and looked at Su Ze with a complex expression.
"My friend agreed."
She paused for a moment, seemingly organizing her words to relay her friend's original message.
"He said that these explosives are hand-crafted and aren't very stable. When detonating, if you're not far enough away or don't find cover in time, there's a chance you could injure yourself."
"Understood." Su Ze nodded, not at all surprised.
It was of Poor quality yet had a power rating as high as 150 points; it was only normal for there to be some side effects.
"What materials are needed?"
"Gunpowder and Scrap Iron."
Qiao Yunge recited the list: "He said he's willing to make a friend, so the price isn't high. Making one requires 8 units of Gunpowder and 5 units of Scrap Iron. The payment is 30 packs of compressed biscuits and 30 bottles of drinking water."
After she finished, she added somewhat hesitantly,
"Also... he said if you have enough materials, could you... sell us one or two as well? Neither I nor he have any on hand right now."
Su Ze raised an eyebrow, a look of inquiry appearing on his face.
Seeing this expression, Qiao Yunge immediately rushed to explain.
"Don't misunderstand! We really don't have any! The materials to make this one were painstakingly gathered by me, my younger brother, and a few others over a long time! we only thought he might be able to make it, so we let him try, and we didn't expect it to actually succeed..."
Su Ze remained noncommittal.
Whether he believed her or not wasn't important.
What mattered was that through Qiao Yunge's words, he had confirmed a key piece of information.
In this world, there really were players who, without skill books or blueprints, could rely on their own knowledge to "hand-craft" items recognized by the system!
Truly hidden dragons and crouching tigers.
It seemed he would have to be even more careful in his future actions.
"If there are enough materials in the future, I'll consider it," Su Ze replied perfunctorily.
In reality, he felt that no amount of explosives would ever be enough.
He still had achievements to grind, after all.
With a thought, he checked his player inventory.
As a rare material, his stock of Gunpowder wasn't particularly large.
40 units in total.
Just enough to manufacture 5 explosives.
However, Scrap Iron...
Su Ze frowned. He remembered that for this kind of low-grade material,
Because he disliked how much space it took up, he hadn't picked any up at all during his previous scavenging.
He immediately pulled up the panel and sent a private message to Jiang Yuwan.
[Su Ze: Jiang Yuwan, keep an eye out. If anyone uses Scrap Iron for trading, take it all.]
After finishing this, he looked at Qiao Yunge and took all the Gunpowder directly out of his inventory.
*Clatter—*
A small pile of black, powdery material appeared before Qiao Yunge.
"Here are 40 units of Gunpowder."
Su Ze's tone brooked no argument.
"A low-grade material like Scrap Iron shouldn't be hard to find. You and your brother go and collect some now; I will give you the appropriate compensation."
"Once you've collected enough, go directly to that friend of yours to manufacture them."
He paused, then added another sentence.
"By the way, don't think about cutting corners. If the power is lacking, the data panel will show it clearly."
"I know! My friend isn't that kind of person!" Qiao Yunge nodded hurriedly.
"That's for the best." Su Ze smiled. "In that case, don't let your brother and the others wait in line anymore. Go look for Scrap Iron now."
"But... but they haven't rented weapons yet..."
"No need to rent them," Su Ze interrupted her. "Now, go call them over. We're going to your Dormitory."
Qiao Yunge was stunned for a moment. Though she didn't understand what Su Ze wanted to do, she obediently turned around and walked toward her brother and companions at the end of the line.
Su Ze watched her back, his mind racing.
That guy surnamed Chen chose to let Qiao Yunge relay the message while he himself didn't show his face. Clearly, he was also full of wariness toward Su Ze, fearing he would be sought out and "dealt with."
However, Su Ze had no such plans for the time being.
As long as the key material for making explosives—Gunpowder—was still firmly in his hands, the other party couldn't stir up much trouble.
Of course, necessary precautions could absolutely not be neglected.
In case the other party still had one or two finished products hidden and tried an assassination while he was out...
It seemed better to go out less during the day for now. He would consider being more reckless once his strength had increased another level and he could physically withstand explosives.
Soon, Qiao Yunge walked over with three young men.
The one leading them was her brother, Qiao Yunfeng.
"Sis, what's wrong? Why aren't we renting anymore?" As soon as Qiao Yunfeng arrived, he asked with a puzzled face, while sizing Su Ze up with a hostile gaze. "Who is this?"
"He is Su Ze." Qiao Yunge's expression was somewhat unnatural. "I... I've decided to join his Dormitory 404."
"What?!"
Qiao Yunfeng's expression changed drastically, and the two companions behind him instantly bristled.
"Sis! Are you crazy?! Joining his Dormitory? Becoming his tenant?"
"Do you have any idea what that means!"
"We have our own Dormitory, why should we live under someone else's roof! Especially someone like..."
Qiao Yunfeng didn't finish his sentence, but the meaning in his eyes was more than clear—especially a guy like this who openly recruited 'goddesses' on the public channel!
He felt his sister must have been threatened!
The three hot-blooded young men almost instantly viewed Su Ze as an enemy, their gazes unkind, faintly showing signs of wanting to strike.
"All of you, shut up!"
Qiao Yunge suddenly blocked them, shouting sharply.
"This is my own choice! It has nothing to do with you!"
She turned her head to look at Su Ze and took a deep breath. "Let's go."
"Mm." Su Ze nodded and jerked his chin at them. "You guys walk in front."
Although Qiao Yunfeng and the others were indignant,
Seeing their sister's determined attitude, they could only suppress their anger, glare fiercely at Su Ze, and walk ahead most reluctantly.
Su Ze followed unhurriedly behind. He didn't want to walk in front; if these kids had some homemade explosives hidden on them and gave him a blast from behind, it would be a huge loss.
The group moved in this bizarre formation through the crowd and toward the staircase.
Silence reigned the whole way.
When they reached the tenth floor and stood at the entrance of Dormitory 100, Qiao Yunfeng finally couldn't take it anymore.
He turned around, blocked the door, and questioned Su Ze: "What exactly do you want, bringing us here?"
Su Ze ignored him, merely glancing at their Dormitory's none-too-sturdy wooden door.
It had only been upgraded once; its defense and durability were pitifully low.
He didn't waste words either. With a wave of his hand, a large pile of Wood material and Iron Material appeared out of thin air, clattering into a heap on the corridor floor.
"Alright."
Su Ze spoke to the dumbfounded Qiao Yunfeng and the others.
"Upgrade it yourselves. I won't be going in."
