196: Chapter 196 Dragon God's Remains

Lin Mo stepped down, his entire being like an unsheathed black blade, charging straight toward the Temple leader.

“Stop him!” the leader shouted sharply, his holy staff suddenly held horizontally. Platinum divine runes exploded in mid-air like a spiderweb, instantly weaving three layers of defensive light barriers.

But Lin Mo didn't slow down at all.

His eyes were fixed solely on the Temple leader.

“Break for me!”

He threw a punch, the crimson-gold fist radiance brought about by the Awakening of Insects Entry resembling long-suppressed spring thunder as it crashed into the first layer of the light barrier.

Bang!

The light barrier shook violently, and spiderweb-like cracks instantly split across its surface.

Lin Mo flipped his wrist and followed up immediately with a second punch.

Bang!!

The second layer of the light barrier shattered directly, and the fragmented white light of the divine art splattered in all directions, cutting fine lines into the ground.

The Temple leader's pupils shrank suddenly, and his expression finally changed completely.

“You—”

Before he could finish, Lin Mo's third punch had already landed.

Boom!!!

The final layer of the light barrier collapsed under this punch. At the moment the white light exploded, Lin Mo's figure had already closed in on him.

He was close enough to see the veins bulging on the other man's temples, close enough to see the irrepressible panic in his eyes.

“Now, it's your turn.”

Lin Mo looked up, a cold arc curling at the corner of his mouth.

The next moment, he swung his right fist in a wide arc, smashing it directly toward the other's face!

Bang—!

The punch landed solidly, hitting the leader squarely on his left cheek.

The sound of bone cracking was terrifyingly crisp.

The Temple leader, who had just been acting high and mighty with talk of "oracles" and "judgment," was sent flying sideways by this punch. He and his staff crashed into the mountain wall behind them, slamming out a human-shaped crater.

Broken stones rattled down.

On the mountain path, there was a moment of dead silence.

The four Rank 6 Awakeners in the rear felt their eyelids twitch at the sight.

Decisive.

So incredibly decisive.

One second the Temple leader was putting on holy airs, and the next he was sent flying by Lin Mo's punch, his face nearly knocked crooked.

This was the satisfying part.

No nonsense.

No dragging things out.

Just a brutal hit to the face.

“Leader!”

The expressions of several Temple Knights changed drastically, and they immediately tried to rush over to save him.

But how could Lin Mo give them the chance?

His figure flickered as he moved like lightning, cutting them off. With a shake of his arm, his fist wind swept out, forcing three knights back by sheer strength.

“Your opponent is me.”

His voice wasn't loud, but it was terrifyingly cold.

Just as anger flared in the knights' eyes, Lin Mo had already sidestepped. Shoulder charge, elbow strike, knee strike—his movements were as fast as the wind, relentlessly slamming into the breastplate of the man in front.

Crack.

A crack appeared in the armor.

Crack.

With the second strike, the entire breastplate caved in.

Crack!

By the third strike, even the Holy Light protecting the body flickered unsteadily from the shock.

“Trash,” Lin Mo cursed under his breath, then kicked him away.

Bang!

The knight slid over a dozen meters across the ground, knocking over two people behind him, throwing the entire vanguard into complete chaos.

Right then, the “Holy Radiance Battle Puppet” that had been forced to one knee let out another piercing holy cry.

Its massive white body began to frantically absorb the surrounding Holy Light. Rings of divine runes lit up on its chest, and the entire phantom image actually swelled in size.

“Not good!” The middle-aged man with the old shoulder injury darkened his expression. “It's forcibly casting some kind of forbidden technique!”

The man with black wristguards also cursed: “These bastards, they start getting desperate when they can't win!”

Lin Mo looked up, his gaze turning even colder.

He could see that the battle puppet was getting desperate.

The more desperate it was, the more it showed it was panicked.

That meant he had to hit it even harder.

“Want to keep going?”

Lin Mo sneered. In the next instant, he charged forward again, giving the battle puppet no chance to finish gathering energy.

He sprinted up across the shattered rocks, shifting his fist technique. Instead of a frontal assault on the head, he smashed directly toward the densest area of divine runes on the battle puppet's chest.

That was the energy core.

And the most fragile part of the entire battle puppet.

“Collapse for me!”

Boom—!!!

As the punch landed, the crimson-gold fist radiance pierced into the white light like a nail. The entire battle puppet shuddered violently as the divine runes on its chest were shattered by the impact.

White light scattered, and the entire phantom image looked as if it were being torn apart from the inside, with massive cracks appearing everywhere.

“How can this be...”

The gold-trimmed cloak leader struggled to lift his head from the pile of rubble, his face filled with disbelief.

His strongest technique had actually been dismantled bit by bit by Lin Mo.

And it was dismantled so quickly, so ruthlessly, and so unreasonably.

“You monster...”

Lin Mo ignored him, only slowly exhaling as he gradually pulled back his fist.

He could feel his arm going numb again from the shock of the divine art, and the surface of his skin was scorched red.

But in the next instant, the Awakening of Insects Entry activated again.

That bit of burning sensation immediately began to recede.

The wounds closed, and the bloodstains faded.

The more he fought, the steadier and stronger he became.

This was Lin Mo's greatest source of confidence.

“Monster?”

Lin Mo actually laughed upon hearing those words.

“Then you West Federation people are going to be brutally handled by a monster today.”

As his voice fell, he slammed a punch into the crack in the battle puppet's chest!

Crack—!!!

The divine runes in the Holy Radiance Battle Puppet's thoracic cavity instantly shattered, exploding into countless shards like glass.

The next second, the massive white phantom collapsed, turning into a shower of Holy Light fragments that dissipated in the mountain wind.

On the mountain path, the Aura of the West Federation reinforcements finally collapsed for the first time.

The four Rank 7 Awakeners in the rear all felt their Spirits lift.

“Beautifully done!” The man with black wristguards couldn't help but let out a low roar, swinging his war hammer in a full circle to smash away a Temple Knight who was trying to retreat.

“Their formation is already in chaos!” The scarred man's eyes lit up as his blade light slashed repeatedly, forcibly tearing an even larger hole in the flank.

Lin Mo stood amidst the collapsing white light of the battle puppet, his clothes fluttering in the wind, his expression terrifyingly calm.

But just then, from the direction of Black Dragon Gorge in the distance, a deeper, more ancient boom suddenly resounded.

Dong—!!!

This time, it wasn't just the mountain path shaking.

Even the rolling black mist in the sky was shaken and forced outward.

In the next breath, a corner of a massive dark-gold bone shadow finally rose slowly from the depths of the black mist.

It was a section of dragon bone.

Just one section, yet it was already as large as a mountain ridge, spanning the deepest part of the canyon. The surface of the bone was covered in ancient and complex patterns that made one's soul tremble even from such a distance.

The dragon god skeleton was truly beginning to awaken.

At the same time, on the other end of the mountain path, the communicator left by Vice Hall Master Zhao Shanhe vibrated violently.

Lin Mo looked down and saw a short line of text flashing on the communicator:

“The West Federation's support troops are on their way, don't get bogged down in the fight!”

Lin Mo's gaze instantly turned cold.

He slowly raised his head, looking toward the battlefield where the white light was regathering, and the corners of his mouth gradually curled up.

“Reinforcements are coming?”

“The dragon god skeleton is the priority, consider yourself lucky!”

...
