2: Chapter 2 Ultimate Killing System

Lin Mo looked up at the sanctimonious face on the podium.

He spoke slowly:

"Teacher Wang, I have a question for you!"

Wang Yan frowned slightly. "Ask."

"I'm not the only one in class with a speed-type trait, right?"

"Zhang Hao's Flash and Li Wei's Spirit Cat are both speed types, with higher quality and better effects than mine. Why are they in the logistics team while I'm in the bait post?"

Wang Yan seemed prepared as he pushed up his glasses:

"That's a good question!"

"Flash focuses on instantaneous reaction, and Spirit Cat has stealth characteristics; both are very suitable for logistics and reconnaissance tasks. Your Swift Step, however, is pure linear acceleration, which is exactly the trait most needed for a bait post."

"I've said it before: this is a scientific distribution based on trait compatibility, not just random assignment."

"Scientific distribution?"

"Correct."

Wang Yan nodded.

"Lin Mo, I know you feel it's unfair, but you must learn to look at things from the bigger picture. I hope you won't continue to be so difficult!"

He sighed, his tone heavy with disappointment.

"To be honest, I'm very disappointed in you. Your usual grades are average, and your trait is average; I've never said anything about that. But this attitude today is truly disheartening."

"It's human nature to be afraid of death, but you must at least know the rules and follow orders."

"Rules?" Lin Mo laughed.

Wang Yan's expression darkened. "What are you laughing at?"

"Teacher Wang, by 'rules,' do you mean the kind where you cornered my sister in the Moonlight Cafe the night before last and threatened her with my life to make her your mistress?"

The classroom instantly became so quiet that a pin drop could be heard.

Wang Yan's face changed drastically. "You... what nonsense are you talking about?!"

"I said—"

Lin Mo spoke word by word.

"You, an old geezer nearly forty years old, cornered my sister in a cafe and forced her to be your mistress. She refused, so you threw me into the Mobile Bait Post! Am I right?"

"Bullshit!" Wang Yan slammed the table, his face turning the color of a pig's liver.

"Lin Mo! You... you're slandering me! When did I ever..."

"Eight o'clock the night before last, Moonlight Cafe, the third table by the window. You ordered an Americano, and my sister ordered milk tea. Do you want me to say it again?"

Wang Yan's lips trembled with rage; he pointed at Lin Mo but couldn't utter a single word.

The classroom completely erupted.

"Holy crap... is Teacher Wang for real?"

"This... this tea is way too juicy!"

"He has the time and place, and Lin Mo even mentioned the details. This seems legit!"

"Damn, I knew he was always acting weirdly sarcastic toward Lin Mo..."

"He's a beast in human clothing!"

Wang Yan suddenly snapped back and roared at the top of his lungs:

"Everyone quiet! Lin Mo is slandering me! He's slandering me! Do you believe him or me?!"

He glared at Lin Mo, gritting his teeth:

"Lin Mo, every word you said today is false. You are slandering a teacher. I can report you to the Academic Affairs Office right now, give you a major demerit, and expel you! Do you believe me?!"

Just then—

[Ding—]

A cold mechanical voice exploded in his head!

[Intense emotional fluctuation detected. Ultimate Slaughter System activated!]

Soon, a translucent status panel appeared.

Lin Mo was stunned.

System?

slaughter value??

"Lucky Draw???"

He slowly raised his head and looked around.

The crew-cut guy in the front row, who had been acting sarcastic earlier, had a sneer on his face, while others stared at him with looks that said, "Hurry up and die, don't drag us down with you."

The people around him who had been jeering and mocking all had expressions of schadenfreude.

Existences more disgusting than fierce beasts—weren't these just a room full of ready-made slaughter value?

The corners of Lin Mo's mouth slowly curled up.

He looked at Wang Yan and grinned:

"Teacher Wang, did you just say I'm afraid of death?"

Wang Yan was taken aback, then sneered, "What, are you saying you're not?"

Lin Mo ignored him and turned to look at the whole class.

"And you lot, those of you who were just jeering for me to go die—aren't you all barking like dogs because you're terrified of dying yourselves?"

The crew-cut boy's face darkened. "What the hell did you say?"

"I said—"

"Everyone here is trash!"

Lin Mo said each word deliberately.

The classroom exploded instantly.

"Fuck! Lin Mo, are you looking for a death wish?!"

"A loser with a white trait like you dares to talk down to us?"

"Damn it, Class Monitor, are you going to do something?!"

Class Monitor Zhao Fansheng stood up slowly, that same nauseatingly gentle smile on his face.

He raised his hand to signal for silence, then looked at Lin Mo, his tone as gentle as if he were coaxing a child.

"Lin Mo, we're all in the same class. Why say such things?"

"We can all understand why you're upset, but Teacher Wang is right—the posts are determined by the school. What's the use of taking your anger out on us?"

He sighed and continued with a face full of sincerity:

"How about this: apologize to Teacher Wang and to those classmates you were just harsh with. We'll let this pass, and we'll still be classmates, right?"

Lin Mo looked at him.

He was all too familiar with this tactic.

On the surface, he was playing the peacemaker, but in reality, every word was fanning the flames.

Lin Mo stared at Zhao Fansheng's sincere face and laughed.

Zhao Fansheng frowned slightly. "What are you laughing at?"

"Nothing, I just don't want to stay in the same room as a dog!"

Lin Mo withdrew his gaze and turned to walk toward the classroom door.

Behind him, Wang Yan's shrill voice followed.

"Lin Mo! If you walk out that door today, don't even think about coming back! Whether you go to the internship is up to you, but if you don't, you'll be treated as a deserter, and your whole family will be blacklisted!"

Lin Mo paused.

He didn't turn around; he just raised his hand and flipped the middle finger.

The door slammed shut behind him.

"Damn it, once we get to Nanling, I'll slaughter every single one of you!"
