...

The system notifications were flashing like crazy, as if having a seizure.

The slaughter value continued to skyrocket.

Soon, the cliff was covered with the corpses of Rock Armor Beasts. Blood dyed the entire cliff dark red, flowing down the cliff face and creating a crimson scroll...

On the other side of the cliff.

Everyone was stunned.

"Damn it... this kid was hiding his true strength all along!"

An old soldier murmured.

"Is he... is he really Rank One?" The voice of the boy named Zhang Hao trembled.

Wu Feng didn't speak, but the shock in his eyes was no less than anyone else's.

Those were Rock Armor Beasts, which had the highest defense among Rank One fierce beasts!

Even he himself couldn't kill twenty or thirty Rock Armor Beasts while being besieged by a pack of them.

His strength is actually not inferior to mine!

This kid was hiding himself too deeply.

Everyone was shocked by Lin Mo's strength and secretly breathed a sigh of relief.

However, Zhao Fansheng's face had turned as pale as paper, his fingers digging deep into his palms.

His original plan was to let Lin Mo die under the claws of the Rock Armor Beasts. That way, no one would know about the little tricks he played back in the Black Needle Forest.

But now...

The strength Lin Mo was displaying now had completely exceeded the scope of his understanding!

It was strong enough to drive one to despair!

"How could this be..."

"Impossible, it's impossible for him to be this strong..."

"Lin Mo..."

Beads of sweat the size of beans rolled down from Zhao Fansheng's head. At this moment, he already smelled the scent of death.

...

On the other side.

Yi Xiaoyu silently watched Lin Mo's back, the corpses of the Rock Armor Beasts covering the ground, and this man who protected her in a desperate situation. An indescribable emotion welled up in her eyes.

There was joy, shock, and even more so, gratitude. There was also...

In the nineteen years of her life, it was the first time she felt such a faint flutter in her heart.

"Lin... Lin Mo... are you okay?"

Yi Xiaoyu asked softly.

"I'm fine, look there!"

Lin Mo shook his head and pointed his hand toward a cave entrance hidden by vines below the cliff.

The Rock Armor Beasts that had just retreated did not disperse; the survivors were all guarding the cave entrance.

"This doesn't make sense!"

"Based on the habits of fierce beasts, when they encounter an invincible enemy, they either fight to the death or scatter and flee. This behavior of retreating to guard a cave..."

"Is there something inside the cave?"

Yi Xiaoyu said tentatively.

"Exactly!"

"I suspect they are guarding something."

The corners of Lin Mo's mouth curled up slightly.

What could it be that would make a group of Rock Armor Beasts overcome their survival instincts and risk their lives to protect it?

He was very curious.

Wu Feng on the opposite bank also saw what was happening and shouted loudly, "Lin Mo! Don't take risks! Wait for us to find a way around!"

But Lin Mo did not respond.

His intuition told him that the thing inside the cave was very important.

Moreover... although these Rock Armor Beasts were guarding the entrance, their numbers had been greatly reduced. If he didn't investigate now, then when?

"However, before that, it's best to increase my strength first!"

With a thought, Lin Mo pulled up his attribute panel.

[Name: Lin Mo]

[Class: Awakener]

[Trait: God Speed (Purple Grade, High Tier)]

[Cultivation: Rank One, Tier Nine]

[Strength: 53]

[Agility: 66]

[slaughter value: 824]

[achievement points: 7]

"Increase cultivation!"

Lin Mo commanded silently.

[Ding~ Consumed 400 slaughter value. Cultivation increased to Rank Two, Tier One. Remaining slaughter value: 424. The next increase requires 440 slaughter value.]

Having finally broken through to Rank Two, Lin Mo slowly stood up.

Rank Two, Tier One.

His strength had surged significantly.

With anticipation, Lin Mo looked at his attribute panel again.

[Name: Lin Mo]

[Class: Awakener]

[Trait: God Speed (Purple Grade, High Tier)]

[Cultivation: Rank Two, Tier One]

[Strength: 65]

[Agility: 82]

[Physique: 60]

[Spirit: 67]

[Techniques: Flowing Cloud Aurora Slash LV2 (54/100), Basic Saber Technique LV9 (86/100), Lingyan Steps LV1 (63/100)]

[slaughter value: 424]

[achievement points: 7]

On the opposite bank, Wu Feng keenly sensed the change in Lin Mo's aura. His pupils shrank as he couldn't help but murmur:

"This kid... broke through?! He broke through in the middle of a battle?!"

Lin Mo glanced at his attribute panel, feeling better than ever before.

Although it seemed like he only increased by one tier from Rank One, Tier Nine to Rank Two, Tier One...

This was a breakthrough into a new major realm, and the attribute increases were substantial.

He moved his arms and felt his current level of power.

His strength attribute had increased by more than ten points. Looking at the numbers alone, the increase was only about thirty to forty percent.

But in reality, his current strength was probably about double what it was before!

"Strength alone has doubled..."

"Then my peak combat power should have increased even more!"

Lin Mo silently calculated his current strength.

If he encountered the same situation as before, even without Yi Xiaoyu's support, he could easily slaughter all these Rock Armor Beasts and even ensure that not a single one escaped!

This was the absolute confidence brought by an increase in strength!

He looked at the cave below, a hint of anticipation flashing in his eyes.

"Xiaoyu, stay here and don't move. I'll go down and take a look first!"

After saying that, without waiting for Yi Xiaoyu's response, Lin Mo leaped straight down the cliff!

"Lin Mo!"

"I'm coming with you!"

Yi Xiaoyu cried out as she realized what was happening, and she also slid down the cliff face.
