47: Chapter 47 Someone's Asking for Death

After lunch, Lin Mo keenly sensed a strange atmosphere behind him.

Lin Sisi seemed particularly at odds with Yi Xiaoyu; whenever they were together, the atmosphere felt inexplicably weird.

"Captain, I'm going out for a walk to check the situation outside..." Lin Mo made an excuse.

"Sure, be careful then." Wu Feng nodded.

He trusted Lin Mo; now that he was heavily injured, Lin Mo was the team's greatest reliance.

"I'm going too!" "I want to go too!" the two girls said simultaneously.

Lin Mo smiled awkwardly, rubbed his nose, and explained: "I'm going out to scout the situation. It's easy to be discovered by fierce beasts if there are too many people..."

After Lin Mo left, Yi Xiaoyu and Lin Sisi looked at each other with mutual dislike, and both returned to the dormitory, fuming.

The two boys in the assault team dared not intervene; they quickly left the scene of trouble and chose to go to the training ground.

The open space by the training ground was originally a rest area, furnished with a few broken wooden tables and long benches.

Yi Xiaoyu and the other assault team members liked to hang out here when they were free—it was close to their dormitory and quiet.

However, today was different.

Zhang Hao and Xiang Yifan were squatting in a corner organizing their gear when they suddenly heard a chaotic sound of footsteps.

Looking up, a dozen people came surging over, some wearing Beihe City uniforms, others wearing Qingyun uniforms, led by the bald man from the cafeteria at noon.

The bald man was named Sun Hu, a freshman at Beihe University and a member of the Sixth Battalion Elite Assault Team, with a cultivation level of First Order, Sixth Stage.

At noon, Sun Hu had been scolded like a grandson by Li Chengxi in public, and he couldn't swallow this anger.

"Yo, hiding here?"

Sun Hu walked over and kicked over a nearby bench, making a loud "clang" sound.

"You Jiangcheng University people sure know how to pick a spot; it's quite cool here."

Zhang Hao stood up, his expression unpleasant: "What do you want?"

"What do I want?" Sun Hu laughed and looked back at the people behind him.

"Brothers, he asked what I want?"

The dozen or so people laughed along, their laughter full of malice.

Xiang Yifan also stood up, blocking in front of Zhang Hao.

He was shorter than Zhang Hao, but his tone was not weak.

"Staff Officer Li already handled things at noon; what else do you want?"

"Staff Officer Li?" Sun Hu narrowed his eyes.

"A staff officer is nothing! Does he think he's a battalion commander?"

"Let me tell you, in this stronghold, whoever has the bigger fist makes the rules. Where's that kid from the cafeteria at noon? Let him come out and kneel to apologize to me, and this matter will be settled. Otherwise—"

He stepped on the gear bag Zhang Hao had just organized and ground his foot into it.

Zhang Hao's face flushed red, his fists clenched and then loosened.

He knew he couldn't win; with over a dozen of them there, going up would be suicide.

But that bag contained a military knife his dad had bought for him before leaving, and now it was being trampled underfoot...

"Don't be impulsive, wait for Lin Mo to come back," Xiang Yifan grabbed him, lowering his voice.

"Wait?" Sun Hu heard him and laughed even louder.

"Wait for that coward? Wasn't he quite arrogant at noon? Where is he now? Where did he hide?"

The people behind him joined in the heckling.

"Exactly, come out!"

"Didn't you tell us to go find Li Chengxi? Li Chengxi isn't here, come out now!"

Just as this was happening, Yi Xiaoyu and the others walked over from the dormitory side.

They had just finished washing clothes and were carrying basins back.

Seeing a crowd gathered there, their hearts sank.

"Zhang Hao? Xiang Yifan?" Yi Xiaoyu ran over quickly, her expression changing after seeing the situation.

"What are you doing?"

Sun Hu turned his head, his eyes lighting up.

"Yo, aren't these the beauties from noon?"

He looked Yi Xiaoyu up and down, his gaze lingering on her for several seconds.

"Just in time, care to chat?"

Yi Xiaoyu ignored him and walked to Zhang Hao and Xiang Yifan, asking in a low voice: "What's going on?"

"They're looking for trouble," Zhang Hao gritted his teeth.

Lin Sisi and Shen Yi also ran over.

Ye Zhixia walked at the back, her expression having returned to its usual coldness.

Standing there, the four girls made Sun Hu's group stare.

"Damn, Jiangcheng has goods like this?"

"The one with short hair looks really good, especially those eyes, so captivating!"

"I like the one in the back, such long legs, and big breasts too!"

"Haha, me too, wonder if they're soft to the touch..."

Filthy language splashed over like sewage.

Yi Xiaoyu's face alternated between red and white, but she bit her lip and didn't make a sound.

She knew she couldn't strike first; doing so would give them an excuse.

Lin Sisi was about to attack on the spot, but was held back tightly by Ye Zhixia.

Shen Yi hid behind them, her face flushed with anger.

"What? No words?"

Sun Hu took two steps forward, leaning in front of Yi Xiaoyu, the smell of sweat drilling into her nose.

"Weren't you quite tough at noon? What's wrong? Where did that kid go just now? Don't be a coward!"

Yi Xiaoyu took a step back, her face cold: "Stay away, or don't blame me for being impolite!"

"Impolite?" Sun Hu laughed wantonly.

"How impolite? Haha!"

He reached out to lift Yi Xiaoyu's chin.

Yi Xiaoyu tilted her head and dodged.

Sun Hu's hand stopped in mid-air, his expression darkening.

"Refusing a toast only to drink a forfeit, huh?"

He stepped back and signaled to the people behind him.

Two boys in Beihe uniforms walked out, pressing in on Yi Xiaoyu from left and right.

Zhang Hao couldn't hold back anymore; he rushed forward to block in front of Yi Xiaoyu: "Don't go too far..."

Before he could finish, a punch smashed into his face!

That punch was fast and ruthless.

Zhang Hao tilted backward, nosebleed spurting out, and he fell to the ground.

"Zhang Hao!"

Xiang Yifan rushed forward to help him, but was kicked in the stomach by another boy, curling up like a shrimp, retching on the ground.

"That's it?"

The boy who attacked looked down at them, shaking his wrist.

"You two wastes dare to stand up for others? I just broke through to First Order, Sixth Stage yesterday; what are you going to use to fight me?"

Yi Xiaoyu wanted to rush over but was held back by Lin Sisi.

Sun Hu stepped up again, this time reaching out to grab Yi Xiaoyu's arm.

"Alright, stop worrying about those two wastes. Let's find a place to chat properly—"

"Let her go!"

A roar came from outside the crowd.

Lao Hei and Old Yu pushed through the crowd and rushed in.

They had just returned from outside and heard something had happened here.

They ran over in one breath.

Seeing Zhang Hao and Xiang Yifan lying on the ground, Lao Hei's face turned even darker.

"A bunch of brats, what do you want?!"

Sun Hu looked back at him and laughed.

The other side had veterans protecting them, and so did he.

"Yo, the young ones get beaten and the old ones come out? What? Is that all the Seventh Battalion is capable of?"

Two veterans also walked out from behind Sun Hu.

Lao Hei, always having a volatile temper, threw a punch at Sun Hu!

Sun Hu was scared and immediately dodged backward.

But the two veterans behind him were fast.

Both came up to meet him, and one of them smashed a punch onto Lao Hei's face.

Lao Hei staggered two steps, and before he could stand firm, someone else rushed out from behind Sun Hu.

It was a man in his thirties, a Lieutenant, with sinister eyes and movements as fast as a poisonous snake.

He kicked Lao Hei in the back of the knee, and Lao Hei fell to his knees with a thud.

Before he could react, the Lieutenant smashed an elbow into the back of his neck, and Lao Hei lay on the ground, motionless.

"Lao Hei!"

Old Yu rushed up but was blasted in the chest by the man's punch, flying backward two meters, clutching his chest and unable to climb up for a long time.

The man retracted his hand, stood straight, and swept his gaze over the people on the ground with contempt.

"Second Order Initial Stage, and you dare to attack in front of me?"

Sun Hu introduced triumphantly: "This is the deputy captain of our Elite Assault Team, Zhao Lie. He's killed no less than eighty or a hundred fierce beasts these past few days. You wastes from the Seventh Battalion aren't enough for him to fight with one hand."

Yi Xiaoyu finally couldn't help it and rushed up to try to help Lao Hei, but was grabbed by Sun Hu.

"Don't be in a hurry, help him later."

He leaned into her ear and whispered: "If you kneel and beg me now, I might consider letting them go."

Yi Xiaoyu was trembling all over, tears finally rolling down from her eyes, but she gritted her teeth and didn't say a word.

"Still quite tough."

Sun Hu laughed.

"Fine, I want to see how long you can stay tough—"

"Move."

Suddenly, a low voice came from outside the crowd.

The crowd automatically parted.

Wu Feng walked in with big strides.

He had been resting in the dormitory treating his injuries, but upon hearing the news, he was afraid his team members would suffer, so he ran all the way here.

Seeing Zhang Hao and Xiang Yifan on the ground, seeing Lao Hei and Old Yu lying down, and seeing Yi Xiaoyu being grabbed by Sun Hu, his expression was so gloomy it could drip water.

"Let her go."

The Lieutenant Zhao Lie's eyes lit up even more when he saw Wu Feng.

"Yo, your captain came in person? What? Want to stand up for your people?"

Wu Feng ignored him and walked to Zhang Hao first, squatting down.

Zhang Hao was covered in blood, his nasal bone likely broken, his eyes swollen to only a slit.

Xiang Yifan was curled on the ground, clutching his stomach, his face deathly pale.

"Go call the medic," Wu Feng said to Lin Sisi behind him.

Lin Sisi nodded and immediately turned to run to the infirmary.

Wu Feng stood up and looked at the leading Lieutenant.

"Who did it?"

"I hit him," Sun Hu, hiding behind Zhao Lie, raised his head.

"What? Are we students not allowed to spar with each other?"

Wu Feng's fists clenched.

But he didn't move.

He knew he couldn't strike first; he wasn't from the Sixth Battalion; if he started it, it would be a big deal.

Furthermore, he was injured, so he would avoid fighting if he could.

"Kid, don't think that just because someone is protecting you, I wouldn't dare do anything to you!"

Sun Hu laughed.

He took a step forward and leaned in front of Wu Feng: "Since when is it your turn, an outsider from the Seventh Battalion, to boss people around here?"

Wu Feng's anger could no longer be suppressed; he suddenly raised his hand—

A slap landed on Sun Hu's face!

"Slap!"

It was crisp and loud.

The whole place went quiet for a moment.

Sun Hu was slapped so hard that blood spilled from the corner of his mouth.

Wu Feng turned his head and looked at Sun Hu, his eyes terrifyingly calm.

"Pah!"

Sun Hu spat out a mouthful of saliva, not daring to speak.

Just now, Wu Feng's slap was so fast that he couldn't react at all.

He knew that if the other party wanted to kill him, he would already be a corpse.

"You're also a Lieutenant? You must be the captain of the Seventh Battalion Elite Assault Team, right?"

Zhao Lie exercised his wrists, his bones cracking.

"Come, let me see if the captain of the Seventh Battalion Elite Assault Team can beat me, the deputy captain of the Sixth Battalion Elite Assault Team."

Wu Feng gritted his teeth and assumed a starting stance.

The other side had already escalated this conflict between students to a conflict between two battalions; even if he didn't want to fight, he couldn't back down now.

"Then come and try!"

The next moment!

Both of them moved at the same time!

Although Wu Feng was injured, he was, after all, Second Order, Seventh Stage, and his foundation was still there.

He threw a punch, and the wind howled!

Zhao Lie didn't dare to take it head-on, dodging sideways and backhanding a punch toward Wu Feng's left shoulder.

He could see that Wu Feng's left shoulder seemed to be injured.

Wu Feng shrank his left shoulder, barely dodging it, and swept his right fist across.

Zhao Lie was hit, his stance unstable, and he retreated several steps.

"Good! Come again!"

Zhao Lie roared and rushed up again.

A moment later, the two had exchanged a dozen moves, and Wu Feng held the absolute advantage.

Soon, twenty moves! Thirty moves!

Wu Feng's left shoulder had been injured by Uncle Zheng and couldn't exert force, and his internal organs had also been shaken by that palm from Uncle Zheng, stinging with every exertion.

Wu Feng was finding it increasingly difficult.

The bandage on his left shoulder was completely soaked in blood, and every time he swung his arm, the wound felt like it was being torn open.

Zhao Lie spotted an opportunity and smashed a punch onto his left shoulder!

Wu Feng groaned, and his left arm hung down.

Zhao Lie followed up with a step and kicked him in the chest!

Wu Feng flew backward, hit the ground, and spewed a mouthful of blood.

"Captain!"

Lao Hei and Old Yu struggled to rush over but were pressed down hard by the other two veterans.

Zhao Lie stood in place, looking down at Wu Feng with eyes full of contempt.

"Captain of the Seventh Battalion Elite Assault Team? Nothing more than this!"

"Can't even beat me, the deputy captain of the Sixth Battalion Elite Assault Team, hahaha!"

Sun Hu laughed wantonly when he saw his deputy captain Zhao Lie win.

He turned and walked toward Yi Xiaoyu and the others, reaching out to grab Yi Xiaoyu's hair.

"Alright, now no one is protecting you. Where is that Lin Mo? Let him come out and kneel to apologize to me, and this matter will be settled. Otherwise—"

He leaned close to Yi Xiaoyu's face, licking his lips.

"Or, you lot, drink with us brothers tonight, maybe I'll be kind-hearted and let him go!"

Yi Xiaoyu was trembling with anger, but even Captain Wu Feng had been injured; what could she, a First Order, Fifth Stage support-type Awakener, do?

Shen Yi rushed up to try to push Sun Hu away but was slapped in the face by another boy and fell to the ground.

Ye Zhixia helped Shen Yi up, her lips bitten until they bled; she stared fixedly at Sun Hu, her eyes as cold as ice.

There were more and more onlookers, three layers inside and three layers outside, at least three or four hundred people.

They were all from Beihe University and Qingyun University, but not a single one stood out.

Just at this moment—

At the outermost edge of the crowd, a commotion suddenly arose.

"Move!"

The voice wasn't very loud, but for some reason, the people who heard it subconsciously made way to both sides.

Lin Mo was seen walking over from behind the crowd with Lin Sisi.
