1075: Chapter 1074 Resurrecting the Heavenly Demon, A Vast Expanse of Space

Luo Xiu's eyes didn't flicker in the slightest, as if the person carving out flesh and drawing blood wasn't himself.

His left hand held that piece of still-pulsating dark-gold flesh, while he flicked a finger on his right hand.

"Go."

That heavy drop of Essence Blood turned into a dark-gold stream of light, being the first to sink into the already dimmed and shattered Demon Markings on the Sky Demon's brow.

Immediately after, he extended his left hand, pressing that piece of heart-flesh—radiating a blazing life force and Divine Demon Origin—precisely into the largest wound on the Sky Demon's chest that had nearly pierced through him, the very spot where he had been heavily injured by the golden beam earlier.

As two divine objects from the newly-broken-through fifth-stage Luo Xiu, containing his Origin and Law dao marks, entered the body, the Sky Demon's cold, broken, and deathly-still corpse suddenly underwent a massive change!

Buzz—!

A layer of dark-gold light membrane instantly emerged from the Sky Demon's body surface, enveloping him entirely.

At his chest, that piece of dark-gold flesh squirmed like a living thing, extending and rapidly fusing with the surrounding remnant muscle tissue.

Dark-gold God-Demon Flame patterns grew and spread like blood vessels and nerves, repairing that terrifying cavity and spreading further toward the limbs and bones.

The light transformed from the Essence Blood exploded at the brow's Demon Markings, turning into countless fine and profound dark-gold runes. Like the most precise formation, they followed the tracks where bones, Meridians, and even the Soul once existed, branding, reorganizing, and connecting everything!

"Crack... crack crack..."

The tooth-gritting sound of bones grinding and reshaping came from within the Sky Demon's body.

Behind him, the heavily damaged metallic wing bones had their fractures connected and covered by dark-gold light. Then, like shedding an old shell, the ashen outer layer crumbled away, revealing new bones beneath that gleamed with an even deeper, cold, and hard luster, with the phantoms of new feathers flickering at the edges of the bones.

The cold body began to become warm again; though weak, a heartbeat truly appeared.

This wasn't just a repair; it was more like a reconstruction!

Using Luo Xiu's own fifth-stage Divine Demon Origin as material and the Sky Demon's remnant body as a foundation, he had reconstructed a "husk" that possessed only vitality and power.

Luo Xiu looked down at his fingertips.

That speck of fluorescent remnant Soul belonging to the Sky Demon, wrapped in a dark-gold halo, seemed to sense the changes in the body below. it brightened slightly and flickered urgently, transmitting an instinctive longing and subtle fluctuations.

Deep within Luo Xiu's eyes, light swirled in his dark-gold heterochromatic pupils, and the Five Elements phantoms flashed by, as if confirming once more that the last bit of True Spirit and memory brand belonging to the Sky Demon within this remnant Soul had not been completely extinguished.

"Seeing as you are still loyal, I shall give you a chance!"

In the next moment, the dark-gold halo wrapping the remnant Soul suddenly retracted. Luo Xiu joined his fingers like a sword and pointed toward that speck of fluorescence in the Void Realm.

"Return to your place."

A tiny yet extremely condensed dark-gold Divine Thought, carrying that speck of fluorescent remnant Soul, seemed to cross through nothingness and struck straight into the brow of the Sky Demon's new body!

Boom—!

The instant the remnant Soul entered the body, the layer of dark-gold light membrane around the Sky Demon's entire body suddenly contracted inward, completely merging into him.

He snapped his eyes open!

They were no longer the previous deathly ashen color, nor were they the Sky Demon's original purely black vertical pupils.

They were a pair of brand-new eyes!

The whites of the eyes still carried a bit of the darkness characteristic of the Demon Race, but the pupils had turned into a dark-gold color, like miniature stars.

Deep within the pupils, fine God-Demon Flame patterns seemed to rotate slowly, as if reflecting the flames that had given him new life.

At first, his gaze was completely empty and vacant, like a newborn infant without any memories or emotions.

But immediately after, those dark-gold pupils suddenly contracted and focused!

The last and strongest obsessions and memory fragments carried within the remnant Soul—delivering the crystal, the King's flames, the sacrifice of companions, the desperate flight—washed over his newborn Sea of Consciousness like a tide.

"Ugh... ah...!"

A dry, hoarse low growl, like the friction of rusted metal, squeezed out from deep within the Sky Demon's throat.

His new body trembled violently, not from pain, but from the intense impact brought by the re-Fusion of consciousness and Physical Body and the surging return of memories.

He struggled, using his new eagle claws covered in dark-gold patterns to painfully prop up his upper body.

The new wings on his back opened slightly and closed unconsciously, creating weak air currents.

He raised his head, his gaze carrying the confusion of just waking and the chaos of the memory wash, finally fixing upon the pair of heterochromatic eyes—one dark, one gold—that were calmly watching him from in front.

The new dark-gold pupils met those heterochromatic eyes that contained endless majesty.

In an instant, all the chaotic thoughts seemed to find an anchor.

"King..."

A dry, weak, yet incredibly clear word, carrying unbelievable trembling and a deeper sense of connection, fell from the Sky Demon's mouth.

He was alive; he never expected he would actually be able to see his King again!

"If there is a next time, this King will personally destroy you all!"

Luo Xiu's cold voice echoed in the underground space. There was no angry roar, yet it contained a chill more piercing than ten-thousand-year-old profound ice—the majesty of a ruler and an unquestionable decree.

Before his voice had even faded, his figure had already vanished from the spot like a ghost. In the next moment, he stood steadily atop the head of the just-awakened and still somewhat dazed Sky Demon, his black robe's hem brushing against the Sky Demon's new dark-gold feathers.

The Sky Demon's body shook slightly, not because of the weight, but because those words and the pressure coming from above—deeper and more vast than ever before—made him instinctively feel awe and obedience.

The slight confusion in his eyes quickly faded, and a sharp brilliance ignited in his dark-gold pupils.

The King was going to find the Sword Demon and the others!

"Yes!" A hoarse but firm voice rolled out from the Sky Demon's throat.

Without needing more words, his wings—the pair of newly reshaped wings gleaming with cold metallic luster and dark-gold patterns—suddenly spread to their limit!

The wingspan was wider than before, and the structure seemed more precise and powerful. With just a slight vibration, they kicked up a violent gale, shattering the lingering heat and sulfur scent in the underground space.

"Screech—!"

A long cry that could pierce through gold and stone rang out, carrying newborn strength and impatient anxiety.

The Sky Demon's feet kicked off the rocky ground violently, and his massive body turned into a streak of black lightning that tore through the air. Carrying Luo Xiu upon his head, he shot straight up toward the huge breach in the ceiling that had been pierced by the previous Breakthrough fire pillar and had not yet fully closed!

Rocks and dust were violently knocked aside as the black stream of light charged upward, instantly bursting out of this oppressive and scorching underground world to plunge back into the wider world outside—one that still teemed with the killing intent and desolation of the ancient battlefield.

High in the sky, the gale was biting cold.

Luo Xiu stood with his hands behind his back atop the Sky Demon's head, his figure as steady as a rock, his heterochromatic eyes overlooking the rapidly shrinking volcanic crater and the continuous scorched earth of the wasteland below.

His fingertips moved imperceptibly, and a strand of extremely obscure sensing fluctuation originating from his own Origin spread out in all directions like invisible ripples, with him as the center, pointing primarily toward the location of that ancient battlefield in his memory.
