1102: Chapter 1101 Eternal Dust

"So there really is still a gap between a half-step Fifth Rank and a true Fifth Rank..."

Her heart was filled with awe.

The Canglan Remnant Soul missed its strike, and its figure vanished once again.

This time, he appeared above Galan's head, pressing down with his palms joined together.

"Wind Prison: Suppress!"

As his voice fell, the space around Galan suddenly solidified!

Countless azure chains emerged from the Void Realm, intending to lock her down completely.

This was another application of the Law of Wind—using wind to lock space and suppress all things!

A cold light flashed in Galan's eyes, and instead of retreating, she advanced.

Her left hand reached for her waist, a silver-white light flashed, and a long blade was unsheathed!

Blade and sword out together!

"Break!"

The long blade slashed toward the chains on the left, while the long sword pierced toward the Void Realm on the right.

The shadows of the blade and sword interlaced, silver-white light colliding with the azure chains, erupting in a blinding brilliance.

Crack!

The chains snapped at the sound!

Galan's figure turned into a silver stream of light, rushing out from the shattered blockade and lunging straight at the Canglan Remnant Soul in mid-air.

"Wind Chant: Thousand Blades!"

She brandished the long sword in her hand, and countless silver-white wind blades condensed out of thin air, pouring down like a torrential rain.

Every wind blade contained pure Law of Wind, tearing through the air and letting out sharp whistles.

The Canglan Remnant Soul remained expressionless, simply raising a hand lightly.

"Wind Barrier."

An azure barrier as thin as a cicada's wing unfolded before him.

That barrier seemed fragile, yet it blocked all the wind blades completely.

The silver-white wind blades struck the barrier like pebbles thrown into a deep pool, only stirring up circles of ripples before vanishing without a trace.

"Not enough."

The Canglan Remnant Soul's voice was still hollow. "Your wind is not yet pure enough."

He gripped the air with his right hand, and a long sword condensed entirely from an azure storm appeared in his grasp.

"Canglan Sword Technique, First Move: Rising Wind and Clouds."

The sword struck.

There were no flashy Moves, just a simple, plain thrust.

But the moment this sword pierced out, the Law of Wind across the entire platform was triggered!

Countless azure air currents converged from all directions, merging into the sword's body, causing the power of this strike to climb continuously, as if it would pierce through heaven and earth!

Galan's expression was grave; she knew she could not take this head-on.

She took profound steps, her figure like willow catkins in the wind, flickering and unpredictable.

At the same time, her hands crossed the blade and sword, laying down layers of defense in front of her.

Clang, clang, clang, clang—!

A dense sound of clashing metal rang out.

The Canglan Remnant Soul's strike seemed like only one sword, but in reality, it contained ten thousand variations.

Every azure sword light accurately pierced toward the weak points in Galan's defense, forcing her to retreat continuously.

Ten steps, twenty steps, thirty steps...

Galan had been forced to the edge of the platform, with a bottomless abyss behind her.

She could not retreat any further.

A look of determination flashed in her eyes, and the short blade in her left hand suddenly left her grip, turning into a silver-white stream of light shooting toward the Canglan Remnant Soul's face!

This throw was without warning, its speed reaching the extreme.

The Canglan Remnant Soul tilted his head slightly, and the long blade grazed his cheek, bringing with it a wisp of azure smoke—that was a portion of his body, composed of a remnant soul, being shaved off.

Though it was but a negligible injury, this moment of Divided Soul was enough.

Galan seized the opportunity, her right foot stepping heavily on the edge of the platform as she charged back like an arrow leaving the string.

At the same time, she held the long sword in her right hand high, silver-white light gathering frantically upon the blade.

"Sky-Rending Wild Dance!"

In terms of Wind Dao Marks alone, Galan was naturally not yet a match for the person before her, but the Wind Dao was only one of the Laws she practiced.

She also possessed the Dao of Space, the Dao of the Sword, and the Dao of the Blade; this Divine Ability was created from the combination of the four.

Exerting her full power now, everywhere the blade light and sword shadows passed, space was slashed with pitch-black rifts!

The azure storm in the Canglan Remnant Soul's eyes swirled slightly, showing a hint of gravity for the first time.

"Canglan Sword Technique, Second Move: Wind Sweeping the Clouds."

The azure long sword in his hand rotated, forming a massive azure vortex around the blade.

The vortex spun frantically, devouring and shredding everything around it; even space began to disintegrate.

The sword light collided with the vortex.

There was no sound.

Because the medium required for sound to travel was annihilated at the moment of collision.

Only light, a brilliance blinding to the extreme, erupted in the center of the platform, drowning everything.

The light lasted for three breaths before slowly dissipating.

In the center of the platform, a deep pit ten zhang in diameter appeared abruptly. The edges of the pit were smooth as a mirror, marks left behind after space had been torn apart.

Galan was half-kneeling on one side of the deep pit, blood overflowing from the corner of her mouth. The long sword in her right hand had snapped inch by inch, leaving only the hilt in her grasp.

Her aura was withered, her blue robes torn in many places, revealing deep wounds that showed bone.

Opposite her, the Canglan Remnant Soul floated in mid-air, his figure much fainter than before, clearly having suffered significant damage as well.

"To be able to achieve this at the half-step Fifth Rank, you are outstanding."

The Canglan Remnant Soul's voice had a slight tremor. "But it is not enough. If you only possess this level of strength, you will surely perish here today."

Galan slowly stood up, wiping the blood from the corner of her mouth.

She looked down at the sword hilt in her hand, then at the only remaining scabbard at her waist.

Then, she smiled.

Galan's smile carried a hint of madness and determination.

She loosened her hand, and the hilt fell, letting out a crisp sound on the green jade floor.

At the same time, she gripped the air with her left hand, and the long blade she had thrown out hummed in the distance as if possessed of a spirit, shooting back as a silver light and landing back in her palm.

"Wind... is only a part of my path."

Galan whispered to herself, and deep within her azure eyes, silver-white, azure, and grey halos flowed alternately; they were the manifestations of Wind, Space, and the pure Dao of Slaughter.

The aura on her body did not decline due to her heavy injuries; instead, it climbed and condensed at a singular speed, as if compressing all her power, all her insights, and all her will into the next instant.

"My Dao lies in breaking shackles, in absolute control, in... being the sole sovereign!"

The moment her voice fell, Galan's figure suddenly blurred.

It was not the afterimage of high-speed movement, but 'blurring' in the truest sense—her body seemed to exist simultaneously within several overlapping spatial layers. Her aura was ethereal and uncertain, causing even the eyes of the Canglan Remnant Soul, which were composed entirely of the Law of Wind, to experience a moment of stagnation, unable to lock onto her completely.

"Fused dao marks? Wind as the bone, space as the pulse, blade and sword as the edge..."

The Canglan Remnant Soul's voice carried a clear emotional fluctuation for the first time; it was surprise, and even a trace of indiscernible expectation.

"Good! Only then are you qualified to receive my Legacy. Before that, take my final Move!"

The Canglan Remnant Soul no longer held back, his already faint figure blurring further, as if he were about to burn all his remaining Soul Power and Dao Laws.

He held both hands high, and the azure storm sword collapsed, turning into a torrent of the most primal Wind Dao Marks that swept across the entire platform.

The entire Canglan Secret Realm was trembling, and endless wind-attribute energy surged frantically from all parts of the Secret Realm, pouring into that torrent.

"Eternal Dust!"
